Ever since Karl was hired permanently to the staff, I figured he would someday be head coach. But would probably have to wait until after Jackson had his stint. Karl wouldn’t be a young pup anymore by then.

Hopefully he is the heir apparent after Heinert. Makes me feel not as bad about eventually losing him.

David Brown was in the crowd at REA tonight, so his availability wasn’t the issue. I think he was just a fish out of water calling hockey, and Midco put in a suitable replacement.

Jody worked at WDAZ for a while, then WDAY before taking the Midco prep sports gig. We are in much better hands with him over David Brown, at least hockey wise. Not sure about football, basketball, or volleyball. Jake is so much more at ease without having to fill in words for a speechless Brown.

To get both of these on board seems like a HUUUUGE shot in the arm for UND volleyball. I think we will easily be winning recruiting battles for top regional talent with these two at the helm. The only downside I see is how long do we get to keep them??!!

Don't know what the rules are for this situation, but she would clearly be an asset.

This is the part of the equation that intrigues me the most. She's remained on staff through 3 head coaches; the only consistent part of the program since the dramatic rise up with Hardee (first as a player, then as a coach) and the equally hard fall under Pryor and Tiffin. Obviously she has some value to the program, but not enough to make her HC.

Sounds like the perfect candidate.

Absolutely YES to everything here. Playing it off as the “JV” championship (as one of my coworkers does) is a terrible outlook for UND fans.

Where did Scheel end up this year? That was a huge loss to lose him early.
