Side note, I just had to erase a pretty long post about the five minute major call, because I hadn't fully grasped that it didn't have to do with contact to the head. I don't know if I still fully comprehend what happened. Someone please help me. The officials reviewed the call, they determined at that time that it wasn't contact to the head, based on one of the two camera angles that was very definitive. So far so good. The major call for interference is unbelievably frustrating, no doubt, but I understand it. Completely different situations, but unfortunately the circumstances of what happens after a hit carry a lot of weight (i.e. Kawaguchi "penalty" earlier that game). Shame on him, but Poehling sold the hell out of it. I put less blame on the officials. What an ***hole Poehling is. I would love to be able to read the officials minds when they see him 100% right after he's taken down the tunnel, for what couldn't have been more than a minute.
I know St. Clould fans don't care and Poehling cares even less what we think, but I would be embarrassed if this situation was reversed and a UND player pulled that.
Edit: I'm going to somewhat walk this back. It's clear Poehling wasn't actually hurt, but do we think he was maybe a little shaken up right away? Not saying he didn't milk it, because I think he did, but let's say the first 10 seconds or so he was shaken up. I would be very interested to hear what SCSU fans think. You try your hardest to be unbiased, but I might be in this situation without really knowing it. @The Exiled One , thoughts on the play?
I just watch the highlights and Nick gets hit and sells it well and puts his head on the ice, looks up when they score and put his head back down, I don’t even know what to say about that. I’m getting sick off this shyt. Get hit and lay down like you’re hurt. I almost wish our guys would do that, but it wouldn’t be the right thing to do.

Thome is 100 times better than he was last year. I love seeing a big goalie in net clearing pucks.
I think he’s playing a lot better because subconsciously he knows he could get replaced by Scheel with one or two bad games, and same goes for Scheel to Thome. Pretty good for the team to have that problem! GO SIOUX!!!

1- Minnesota (will always be the most hated!)
2- UMD (cheap shot specialists and dive experts)
3- St. Clown (Fans holding signs the last 2 years at the West Regionals that said "WHERE'S UND??" and "NO HOST SCHOOL AT THIS TOURNAMENT?"
4- Western Michigan (could be Lunatic envy)
UMD have basically become the Minnesota of the NCHC

Yes, The last couple games I've been to there has been a graphic up on the scoreboard "Let go Hawk" trying to get the "Lets go Hawks" cheer going. I few people chant "Lets go Sioux" but that is about it.
If you go to the hockey game and want to get a chant started you say “Let’s go Sioux” but you clap along with it. Way more people are still Sioux fans, me included. It’s going to be a long time if ever before there’s a let’s go Hawks chant

I will tell you this: from my seats up here in 306, CC has dished out 4-5 solid, world class elbows to the head that have gone uncalled.
My seats are in section 306 to

I think there was an off-side, so there shouldn’t been a penalty to begin with

Our first road loss since the second week of the year and we are doomed! I always thought the formula was to sweep at home and split on the road, but I guess the new formula is win every game or else!
Of course the Sioux aren’t going to win every night but when they don’t play how we all know they can, thats when it gets annoying. And WHAT IN THE HELL HAPPENED TO SCHEEL??? He went from an above average goalie to a meh goalie. When you’re afraid that when a puck is shot at him and it might go in that’s not good

Breakaway.....Scheel no chance
I know it was a breakaway but remember when we had confidence the Scheel would stop and break away

Get the F outta here with the pull scheels bull !@#$, how about the D stop looking around and pick a damn guy up. Sick of all the bashing on this damn site. Smith is just out there on that play in no man's land.
He hasn’t been the same since Christmas break, something is wrong with him

Seriously, why can’t they stay out of the damn box....
Because we can’t figure out what the refs are going to call
-
So how does the Sioux make big hits???
-
Big hit on the Sioux and penalty
-
I’m wondering if Scheel is hurt
-
Wow Scheel
-
I always say the Sioux have to wait to see what the other team gets away with then they can do what they do

Especially when they called it a goal, and Miller did nothing to try and get out of the crease after initial contact. Keep your cool, and I see a five minute major coming to Duluth by trying to go out of their way to be physical.
Do you really see that happening the way they’re playing now, The refs are letting everything that Duluth does go

There's a lot of big hits that UMD is throwing that I feel would be penalties if it was UND throwing them and then the UMD player sells it by laying on the ice.
I was just thinking that if you see my comment below Lol

This is the reason why I don’t care for Miss Coach Sandy anymore. The Bulldogs are the gophers of the NCHC
