  1. Too bad the game is not today. It is gorgeous in Alabama today. The players had a great time last night at the BBQ party and one lineman fell in love with Miss Alabama. I can not remember his name but he tried really hard to stand next to her during the team photo.
  2. and that the game does not go into OT because the Heisman begins at 7:00 and they would probably leave DII for that in a second.
  3. I guess ESPN wanted to go straight from the game to the Heisman but this is the first time I can remember it being played this late. It will get dark around 4:45 and completely dark by 5:30. Does sound like a high school game?
  4. I usually depend on weather.com when I am traveling but the local guys have been saying all night that it will be rain until late afternoon and then turing to sleet/snow. They are usually wrongand that is why I trust weather.com more. It is going to be interesting with the game starting at 3:00 instead of noon like the past several years.
  5. Here are some interesting articles from the Florence paper today. http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../312110345/1011 http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../312110335/1019 http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../312110336/1019
  6. That is correct. I played High School there as well and it can withstand a few inches of rain per hour.
  7. They are predicting rain now during most of the game. So what does that do for the predictions?
  8. There are places to drink beer/alcohol in Florence. It is just that each establishment has to serve 60% food to 40% liquor. There are several bars only in Muscle Shoals just across the river form florence, where both teams will be staying. And YES there is such a thing as moonshine. Let me know if you are interested. But you better have a designated driver for the rest of the night though.
  9. No wonder everyone has been fighting so much over that da** thing. That is one big nickel.
  10. And he is the back-up to the kid that tested positive for over the counter cold medicine. Looks great for next year.
  11. Who cares. I really do not think that it had anything to do with our inability to tackle number 5.
  12. Well it could not have that bad because it looked like there were 2 NDSU lettermen down close to the front (Unless a local high school has the same logo and colors).
  13. I for one was there and was on row T so I can not say that I heard anything geared towards the players. Half of the cheerleaders did come up to the walkway between the sections saying that they were being called names by the fans around the 10 yard line. Then the whole group came up there so they could be closer to the UNA fans. But whether or not that is the case I am just going on what one cheerleader said. No one said anything to me expect show the finger about 500 times which does not bother me. The Grand Forks policeman that stood in front and actually made a couple of UND students go sit back down was a really nice guy. No other UNA fan was down in the student section so it would have to come from someone that was on the sideline.
  14. This is not in the least bit a UNA board but a portion of Alabama Live. The idiots that are on here have nothing to do with the real fans and probably did not even watch the game. I just read where one UNA student told them to shut the he** up. How funny is that?
  15. My mom was there selling tikctes yesterday and I thought that it was very odd that they only wanted tickets for the ones that paid for the charter. Do not worry though there will be plenty of room right behind the UND bench and about 20 rows up. There are still plenty of tickets left on the UND side though and if not I will sell you mine.
  16. You have absolutely no clue what you are talking about. GVSU requested the visitor's side so they could be on TV more. Before the 2500 tickets that were delivered by the championship personnel there were a total of 76 tickets sold on that side. That side is sold out now thanks to your University and UNA had nothing to do with it. It is an independent organization that runs the game and the ticket sales. In fact we are actually trying to figure out how to bring in some temporary seats on the visitor's side just so we can accomodate you.
  17. I have in no way tried to rub anything in your face. I am not that stupid to come on to a visiting team's board and start some sh**. In fact some UND fans have said that they appreciate the updates. I guess that I was trying to let everyone now so that they can too think long and hard about boarding a plane just like we did. If you would have read my post I have been the most civil fan after the defeat. I said form the beginning that Lennon had a better game plan and the UND players executed better. Never have I said anything that would lead anyone but you to believe that I am still grieving. Sorry for the updates.
  18. I just talked with the championship personnel and UND only wanted approximately 250 tickets and they have already mailed back the other 250. GVSU will be on the visitor side and they have all but sold it out. WOW! Looks like they will have a definite crowd advantage.
  19. What a forecast. They are predicting sunny and in the 60s for Saturday. Maybe all the girls from GVSU will wear their bikinis again this year.
  20. Each team is brought 500 tickets and then they can gurantee anything above that. UND did not feel that they could sell more than 500 when the championship reps left Florence for Grand Forks on Friday. If you want more we will send you as many as you need. Last year we only took 500 to GVSU and then overnighted them 2,000 extra. When UND was in it in 2001 there were roughly only 400 tickets sold at the UND ticket office and 100 were returned to Florence.
  21. Congrats! That had to be the single greatest home field advantage I have ever witnessed. I was really impressed with the arena as well. As for the students that sat in front of us I hope that they are not an indication of how people in Grand Forks treat their guests each week. But oh well it was a great game and UND had a helluva game plan and lined up and executed. On flights: Check NWA to Muscle Shoals. Delta/American/United to Huntsville, AL (about 60 miles away) Nashville is only 2 hours away as is Memphis. Both easy drives as well. Birmingham is 2 hours away and serviced by Southwest additionally. Good luck and I really do hope that UND brings more than you brought 2 years ago. Because last year GVSU had 2500 and thay have already guranteed 2700 tickets and UND only requested 500 so far. So for the love of football buy a ticket and come down south for a great weekend.
  22. Yeah, I posted it earlier this morning under the Intangibles post. They will probably sit out this weekend. http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../312050343/1019

    INTANGIBLES

Here is something else that will help to motivate the fans. I do not think that it is going to affect the Lions at all and for that matter the Sioux either. http://www.timesdaily.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar.../312050343/1019

    Coaches Show

When are you guys going to understand that there was NO scholarship incident when we won 3 straight championships. We actaully had fewer people on scholarship for those 3 years than we were allowed by NCAA DII rules. THe issue occured in the late 80's/early 90's and we self-corrected and the NCAA dropped the investigation and said that we did nothing wrong and that in fact had punished ourselves above and beyond what they felt was necesary. SO for the final time we did not have any extra scholarship players the 3 years that we dominated DII. Sorry to break to you but we did nothing wrong expect win 3 in a row on the field with less scholarship players than everyone else.

    Clueless fans?

The stadium is owned by the city and UNA jointly. It is on the campus of the oldest high school in the city. Braly Muncipial Stadium is the official name.
