50/50. That's considering all the UMD,St.Clown pukes that were cheering against us.
50/50? Did you type that with a straight face? NOT EVEN CLOSE to 50/50. Wow.

Come on. You're going to pull the thin skinned comment? You rarely post here all year long then you decide to add a comment to your rivals forum immediately after we win a game to advance to our conference tourney noting that you think we will lose our first game? That's a troll buddy. We all know there is a chance we could lose...it's hockey. I would never head over to GPL posting that type of garbage...why? Because i do have some sort of life and I would never want to stir up commotion on their forum. You knew exactly what you were doing. It's the same stuff gfhockey does with a little formality sprinkled on top. You were looking to stir the pot. Go bug your wife/gf/partner if your looking for some drama.
Calm down Sally. The reasonable posters on here replied to my post just fine even saying it is a fair assesment. There was nothing offensive about my post. I'm sorry I dont agree with your opinions about anything UND hockey. I assure you I was not trying to stir the pot or get a rise out of you. I was simply making my prediction.
-
Some of you are a bit thin skinned. It was just my honest opinion. If I thought UND would win I would honestly say so. I realize Im basing my prediction on a small sample size of last weekend but Miami's offense was really clicking and that could cause problems for UND. I certainly wasn't trolling with my post. Honestly I couldn't care less who wins.
-
UND hasn't looked good the past two weeks at home against bad teams. Miami impressed me at SCSU especially offensively. Honestly I think Miami wins. I just dont think UND can keep up with a talented offense like Miami's when they're clicking the way they were in St Cloud. At least not this years UND team. Just not enough scorers.

Did you come up with this crap all by yourself?
You're blind if you can't see some validity in his post. There's a LOT of truth to his theory.

Very much a strong possibility.
You can't be serious.

Now that the name is gone wouldn't REA be eligible to host if the NCAA ever went back to Campus sites? Honest question.Pick the bids that don't have REA on them.
-
Pure fiction!
There might be a TINY difference but essentially it would absolutely be the same. If you think otherwise you are very much underestimating the size and passion of Gopher hockey fans. If the Gophers are playing in the Final Five against a rival like UND or UW on a Friday afternoon that game would be SOLD OUT, no doubt about it.
-
It was for both... If you think that the Minnesota rule had nothing to with boosting attendance you are on crack. Feel free at anytime to crawl back to gpl.
You're wrong. Gopher fans don't only exist in the Twin Cities, they cover the state. There was no way the WCHA would let the Gophers play in the afternoon while the entire state is at work. If the Gophers played Friday afternoon the attendance would be the same as that evening.
-
The 7:00 pm game-slot is all about being able to showcase your team to the Twin Cities TV market - in layman's terms, potential college recruits. Giving Minnesota the prime-time game under the guise of "boosting attendance" was a farce. How many high school kids were home skipping school watching those Friday afternoon games? None. For that reason alone, I think the #1 seed should have the prime-time slot - they earned it. I think its even MORE important now given that North Dakota (and one could argue, the entire NCHC) is out-of-sight-out-of-mind in the TC market entirely thanks to the B10 and the local media.
How many times do I have to remind you guys that the Minnesota rule was for TV advertising revenue, not attendance.
-
1500 radio here in the TC's babbling non-stop about the Gophers strength-of-schedule...apparently forgetting that the Big 10 is actually the Big 2, Medium 3, and Lame 1 This season.
According to KRACH the Gophers have the #2 SOS in the country.

and him jersey popping
I remember when potulny popped his jersey at the ralph
It was Irmen.

I really thought the Brock Nelson-miracle 6-3 winners over the Gophers at the FF team was going to be the cinderella story...until I saw the regional bracket come out a day later. Buzzkill.
I knew I was going to Tampa the moment those brackets came out, never a doubt. I had the same feeling in 2007 after Wheeler's goal, I knew UND would get us back in the regional.
Now back to the most ridiculous thread in history of message boards.

the amazing part is Sandelin alllows that crap, all the UND blood must have been flushed out of him. and some people on here want him to replace Hakstol.
Actually the amazing part is that you believe UND is any different than other college teams in regards to "that crap."
-
Wow! I never thought I would agree with Mariucci.... Well done.
Well gfhockey's argument is way to simple and I got tired of it. Right now Lucia and Hakstol have very different legacies. Lucia is a two time national champ while Hakstol has zero. But take a closer look at Lucia's two titles. In '02 he needed to pull his goalie and got a pretty lucky goal to tie the game and then won in OT on the power play. In '03 the Gophers beat Michigan in another OT on a soft goal given up by Al Montoya. Let's not forget Lucia also had the advantage of playing in St Paul in '02 and at Mariucci in the '03 regional. Lucia could EASILY have zero titles right now and a legacy similar to Woog.
In 2011 something as simple as a wrist shot from the point finding a hole for the Sioux against Michigan and Hakstol could have a title.
We are literally talking about a couple bounces of the puck being the difference in the legacies of Lucia and Hakstol.

You guys probably don't care what I think but here goes anyway. Firing Hakstol would be insane. UND is one of the best teams in the country EVERY year with maybe this year being the lone exception but of course it's still only February so who knows what will happen the next month or so. Jerry York is the best in the business right now but didn't he go from '84 to '01 without a title? He had some sub par seasons during that stretch as well. Didn't Jack Parker go from '95 to '09 without a title? He also had sub par seasons in between. Red Berenson is currently on a stretch of 16 seasons without a title. Lucia is currently on an 11 year run himself without the big one and he had 4 straight crap seasons.
Let me put it this way. As a Gopher fan I would be thrilled if UND fired Hakstol because than maybe UND would actually suffer some down years like every other elite program has. Under Hakstol UND has been a machine with strong teams year after year that are a threat to win it all. The grass is not always greener. A new coach isn't just going to walk in and immediately win a title. Keep the good coach you already have.

The woog shed?
Nicely done! Apparently I'm the only one who thought that was clever.

How long do we acceppt mediocrity is the real question?
Making the tourney every year, winning Broadmoors, and going to numerous Frozen Fours is not "mediocre."

The problem is, when things started going badly Sat. night, one of a couple of things should have been done. 1.) For the first time in years, someone should have gotten into a fight to fire up the team and turn the momentum back our way.
#11 was being a pain in the a** for example. Or Archibald for that matter, should you really get away "clean" w/ a hat
trick? In the early 90s we may have lost, but we at least roughed some people up before they left the building! And
yes, I know that this is a team where, unlike previous years, we don't really have any fighters, but if that's the case, the coach should come up w/ a different plan. . .like pull Saunders for the freshman after the 5th goal; could he
really been worse on breakaways than Saunders?. (Although stopping the cherry picking, B.C. breakaways might have been
another solution!) Or hell, OUR coach could have started throwing things and gotten kicked out of the game. Maybe that would have gotten through to these guys. Some one needed to wake them up during this game and no one stepped up, player or coach.
At the very least, there should have been some serious skating going on afterwards. It was a pathetic effort, all
around.
Ok. That's my one "once every three years" rant.
That's your solution when the team is playing poorly? Start a fight? This is college hockey, not Slap Shot.

It was a good call he hit Rau in the head come on.

I never said they would make the tourney. But they were being compared to Mankato by Scpa as if Mankato plays a tough schedule. He argued that OSU wasn't near the level of Mankato. And OSU played the Gophers very tough a few weeks ago, two close games. If you think OSU is bad or is an easy win you're nuts. You're kidding me, right?
Ohio State's 14 wins this year include:
2 against Robert Morris
2 against Niagara
2 against Canisius College
2 against Mercyhurst
Seriously, Ohio State should actually raise an Atlantic Hockey Conference Champions banner next fall inside Value City Arena!
Their other 6 wins are against Bowling Green, UMD, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Penn State (2). Please tell me you don't think that THAT résumé makes Ohio State NCAA tournament-selection material.
-
Yes. They shouldn't be, the big ten conference (as a whole) is ranked way too high due to MN being so good this year. OSU has beat UMD and Wisconsin...that's it. Their schedule is a joke. They have no decent players.
Ryan Dzingle is elite and will be a top ten Hobey finalist and deserves to be. And you say Ohio State's schedule is a joke? The Big Ten schedule is a LOT harder than the current WCHA pal. Unbelievably bad post.
-
Exactly, except there is no way Ohio State and Penn State are even close to Mankato State. Even MSU has been bad for quite awhile, they have really struggled in recent years. Arguably there are only 3 solid teams with only one being a top notch hockey school in Minnesota (Mich won too many chips in the 50's).
Umm Ohio State is currently a spot ahead of Mankato in the PWR but you claim they're not close to Mankato as a program? Nice logic. This is a perfect example of UND fans underrating the Big Ten. OSU is actually very solid this year.
The Gophers, UW, and Michigan are elite. Michigan State has multiple national titles themselves and Penn State has everything in place to be a good program. The Big Ten is not and will never be the disaster that UND fans so badly want it to be.
-
AA was added by agreement between the CCHA and WCHA. Each team had to take one of the Alaska schools.
You Minnesota homers can't have it both ways. On one hand, it's "pat pat my back, we have more D1 schools than anyone...more kids in the state playing hockey...North Star Challenge Cup...great tradition in the entire state..." and on the other hand its "Bemidji and Mankato suck and don't even deserve to be playing schools the calibre of the Gophers...St Cloud is terrible...watered-down league...UMD can't hold a candle to the Gopher program..".
Which way do you want it?
No one can make a logical argument that the WCHA improved by adding those 4 schools.
I want it the way it is now. We're a Big Ten university and we're now in the Big Ten. We should still play the in state schools every year but they should be non-conference games.
