  1. be careful when you start drinking these. i've found that because they taste so good, you don't notice the alcohol. and that means you drink way more than you should, which comes back to haunt you after you've had 5 in about 10 minutes.

Yeah, you might want to pace yourself there.

  2. Froggy,

How difficult will it be to get tickets? Can we get them at the game?

You should be able to buy them at the gate. You might want to check with UND first to make sure they've sold out all of their allotment, then check GVSU's Ticket office to see if you can get your tickets at will call. They did have some problems at the ticket booth last weekend, but probably because of the holiday that they didn't have their regular crew there. And if you can't get a seat, they'll just keep on printing standing room tickets.

  3. SWEET

Smart thing for DAZ to do by just taking the feed. So they only have to pay for one uplink (FSSN)....the uplink from the stadium to the station in GR is already paid for and they don't need to send a crew

Just remember, no keytching about the GVSU homer announcers if UND dosen't send a crew to do audio. :D:silly:

  4. oh yeah...B-RAD...god I miss him ;) If only he hadn't taken that unfortunate turn into the Orange Julius at the mall...:huh: RIP you Vitamin B-packed fruit! :D

B-rad only had the Peanut butter jelly banana as his Avatar there SiouxMeNow.

  5. OK, so at last year's game there was a GVSU fan in a banana suit jumping in the face of everyone who was wearing green and white. It was more amusing than annoying, I guess.

Oh, that guy. I think that was some sort of itintiation thing the Sigma Pi's had a guy do. Don't think I've seen that around this year, but then again, I could be wrong.

  6. I just got my tickets for trhe game and they said the vistors is all sold out :silly:

That just might be the reserved amount of tickets that the home team has to set aside for the visitors, but then again, perhaps I'm underestimating the crowd for this game as well. I would be very impressed if UND was able to sell out the visitor's stands. And don't worry if you don't get a ticket now, GVSU will just keep printing Standing room only tickets. I would probably recommend though that you stand down by the track instead of on top of the hill over there. That win will cut right thru you.

  7. Actually, I believe that Comcast Local here in Michigan will be broadcasting the game. All your station would have to do is just pick up that signal there from the satalite, then splice a North Dakota Audio feed perhaps if they wanted too... Thats what GVSU and WXPS in GR did in 2004 I believe.

  8. I realize the odds of BOTH UND and Delta State winning are not great, but I honestly believe UND would host in that circumstance. The site selection criteria set out in the dII football handbook are pretty clear. If the NCAA did award Delta the right to host in that circumstance, I believe the NCAA would probably be found to be in contempt of court by Judge Jahnke.

Sultan's probably right though. If UND and DSU were to win out this weekend, the NCAA will probably do everything to make it look like it's not playing politics in letting DSU host that game. Would be pretty hard to site weather and field conditions, being that the Alerus is indoors and a compfy 72 degrees, while some of the NDSU faithfull will probably mention something about DSU's field being like Kitty litter I think.

If it wasn't for the fact that my beloved Lakers are playing you guys this weekend, I would be routing for you guys, just to stick it to Myles fat head. :silly:

  9. What I think Buning should do is to call the Dartmouth AD and say:

"Since you are so afraid of all the pain we're going to cause when our hockey team comes to town, how about you save them the trouble and just forfeit to us? That way we won't be seen as hostile and abusive to you and those Native Americans we are allegedly going to 'pain' and we will avoid being hostile and abusive on the scoreboard as well!"

Then, if the Dartmouth AD refuses, Buning can release a press release stating that Dartmouth's intention is to bring us to whereverthehellthey'refrom (I don't care, really... Vermont or New Hampshire I think), that UND offerred to cancel the trip on condition Dartmouth forfeits to the Sioux, and that all pain brought by the tourney is now on the shoulders of the Dartmouth AD. :D

    Brilliant!!

  10. you gotta think the crowd will be down with the Holiday weekend and all...what else do we need to get over the hump for there? (short of burying Pat Behrns under the turf to made a real hump! :D )

Winning, that always takes care of curses. Except for the cursing done by the guys on the loosing end of the game. ???

  11. If you look back at 2003, both UND and UNA were 1 seeds. UNA was ranked higher nationally. UND's SOS was slightly higher (using the criteria that was in place at that point in time. UNA played a D1AA team that was in D1AA playoffs on the road, and won..criteria penalized teams for playing non-d2 teams, no matter the division). Based on the SOS, the decision was correct in making UNA travel (although you'd never know it listening to uninformed fans).

This year, all things being equal, UNA (2) SHOULD host UND (3) if both make it that far, while Delta (5) would have to travel to the Alerus. If GVSU wins, GVSU hosts.

There will be no more games in Cleveland, MS this year. That will give the goats time to eat the rest of the turf and put some more divots in the field.

UNA is the "host" institution every year for the NC game. Braly Stadium is owned by the City of Florence, not UNA. Contract runs through 2009, I believe.

Legalese sematatics there Florence Fan. :D

  12. Monster, looking forward to another matchup. Last year, security directed us to tailgating area which consisted of NOBODY else. Can you give directions to the real tailgating area? Any Sioux fans making the trip?

well, last year we had the problem of being up against the Michigan-Ohio St. game. Even though they where out of the national title hunt at the time, lots of people would have rathered sat at home to watch that on TV than to show up for a GVSU game. Thats why GVSU went to night games in the regular season, so we don't have that much conflict.

And well, yesterday, turnout for students was sickening. Had it farely decent turnout for the home side, and a tip of the hat to the USD fans for how well they traveled, but frankly, a lot of us was disappointed as to how many students came back for the game. Housing doesn't charge extra to stay over the break or to come back early, and I'm sure their moms could have given them a bunch of leftovers in those disposeable tubberwear containers to eat because all the eating options on campus were closed.

Oh well, turn out should be a lot better this weekend. Everybody is back on campus, Hunting season is winding down for us, and other than some whiners about the weather, we should be back up to making it look respectable for us. It probably won't have the gate breaking attendence this matchup deserves, but eh, always seems to be the nature of the beast this time of year isn't it?

  13. I'm feeling the LOVE too :D

(JUMPER cables??? - you just get weirder all the time man!)

BTW!! The monster is looking for a new ride...anyone want to give him a deal on a reasonably priced used car that could POSSIBLY be driven to Michigan next weekend? (assuming things work out that way!)

If we're going to leave DII - lets do it with CLASS! I might be driving to Michigan with a vehicle* we can leave in the hands of an old friend - wouldn't be such a bad thing!!

(* - hope you don't mind if its COVERED with Fighting Sioux Logos ;) - it's Ralphs old "work" car ;) - just promise NEVER to drive it to Indianapolis :( )

hahaha Thanks but right now it looks like its going to be something a little more newer than that old war wagon. 2005 Malibu Maxx. I wanted to sign on the dotted line for it today, but with the holiday, looks like it probably won't happen until Monday.

  14. I'm cranking on my generator now trying to get him back...(I said my GENERATOR..not my Genita*s - NEVER MIND!! ;) ) BTW - anyone have an extra quart of BlueDye #6 I can borrow???

Hey man, you're not suppost to put the Jumper Cables THere!!! That hurts man!!! :silly:???

  15. Well, another week here if everything goes well for the both of us, there should be another edition of Lakers Vs. Sioux. Good luck to you guys against the Red Mavericks and I'm pretty sure GVSU can handle that school in Vermillion.

I went to the USD at Northwood game, and well, I still think Northwood should have won that game. The Coyotes played a sloppy game, soft coverage on defense, high tackles, stupid penalties, and I'm not that sold on that QB they have there. Looks like to me that he just locks onto a receiver, just trys to chuck it deep, and doesn't make any reads to hit a WR on the sidelines for an easy fresh set of downs. You're not going to go deep in the playoffs by doing that.

  16. Eh, while I'm not happy about the upcoming move for you guys, I do see the writting on the wall. It was pretty much going to happen, it was just a question of when. Good luck with you guys, and may we blessed to meet each other in the Reginal finals for the next 2 seasons. And, Perhaps with your move, UND could finally get around to schedualing a regular season home and home deal with GVSU perhaps. We did the same with Cal-Davis.

  17. Thats a great idea there. It would be a great way of showing the NCAA how willing you guys all are to fight to keep the name. I might even kick in a few bucks myself. Heck, I did buy one of Dirty's shirts. :D

Also, you guys could use a good PR campain to get your side of the issue out more. perhaps get ahold of other fans of the schools that are on the banned list and those schools that were on the banned list but got to keep their names. Not naming names here, but I'm pretty sure you would get pretty darn good bang for your buck if somebody sent a couple of Dirty's shirts to those FSU Cowgirls*. :0

*Google is your friend, but I don't think I would do it from work. :0

  18. UNI will not be coming to Grand Forks as long as UND stays D-2. Neither will SDSU or NDSU. It's a completely losing situation for the D-1's to go to a smaller school's home field.

Ummm.... Right now NDSU and SDSU are still transitional schools and for another 2-3 years or so and are not elligable for the playoffs in D1-AA. A NDSU-UND game or a SDSU-UND game would probably bring them a decent gate either way. And gee, is it just me, or are all of the SDSU and NDSU fans just desperate to get UND to jump up to D1?? :0:D
