  1. this. SC beats A&M no doubt they would be in Columbia this week. The bad matchups this week are the main reason. Tenn/OU Im sure looked a little intriguing but they will probably end up in Norman at some point. They are probably looking at Florida/Bama for next week

they've been on the record that the SEC likely wont see gameday until October for Mississipi/Alabama.

  2. 10+ years of press about not wanting to schedule a UND game by Gene doesn't support anything you say.

Kolpack and Izzo would agree with what I say, but they don't want to run against the NDSU admin official line.

But UND is happy where they are at and will be even happier when half the Big Sky is FBS.  NDSU will have to move then.

there is not 10 years of press of gene not willing to schedule UND, but there is a long line of the UND administration continuously being too arrogant to accept a deal.

Please stop listening to Siouxvolley.  He's is UND's Lakesbison..

  3. after week one, the contenders appear to be ndsu, uni, ewu, nova and sela

So Jacksonville State is the #9 ranked team in FCS...and Michigan State could have hung 100 up on them pretty easily had they wanted to. NDSU wouldn't keep a game with Sparty within 35.

NDSU would handle Jacksonville State pretty easily, but MSU would be a hell of a test.

  4. Look. We get it. You are not a fan of UND football. You've spent the entire week making sure we are all aware of it. Now stop trolling. It is a violation of the terms and rules of SiouxSports.com.

somehow I doubt a guy with 11,000 posts is here just to troll.  He has an opinion about the state of the team that appears to have been pretty accurate.  Having an honest accurate opinion is not trolling.  This board has been infested with delusional optimism for years now, and anyone who takes a grounded opinion gets attacked.  Your post was much closer to a violation of the terms of service than his.

It's gonna be a long season, but in three years we're going to have a pretty experienced team with some good talent.

  5. It completely went over your head.

Every other Bisonville thread talks about how great Fargo is because it has a Sonic or was the first with a Kohl's, so Fargo obviously is the best ND has to offer according to Bville. Bisonville is also looking for a sugardaddy with a spare $200 m so it can buy itself a domed stadium for FBS.

Those statements were parodies on posters like Bison Dan and most of Bisonville.

Fargo is indeed the best part of ND, at least as places to live go. Still haven't been to all the parks so I can't comment on the overall picture, but turtle river has been calling my name.

It's not a Sonic, but downtown Watford City is getting a rather large development for small town ND.

pretty slick looking building, good for watford city.
  6. I've been hearing about where are all these people going to come from that will live in all these new apt for over ten years now (and I hear it all the time being a contractor).

If gf grew by a modest 1% a year it would take 6 "average" apartment complexes a year to house them all.

Houses are still in incredible demand. Just completed a spec home for an investor behind Target. Average One level house with finished basement. Sold in two days, two offers, $2,000 below asking at $347,000.

It seems like some here were born yesterday: "I can't believe all the construction." It's called a city, they grow over time. Fifty years ago gf had a population of 35,000.

People of Grand Forks: what you are currently seeing is something other places call reasonable growth. What you saw before was stagnancy.

As for the "modest population growth" of Grand Forks, let's remember that the Census Bureau has a long history of undercounting the population of Grand Forks.

I'm sure you have stacks of evidence for that.
  7. We have one GWFC title and zero FBS wins..just like SDSU.

SDSU is a perennial top-20 team with elite talent and will soon have arguably the best facilities in the country. Players know they can go to SDSU and be reliably competitive at a nationally level, if not quite elite.

UND has been a mess for half a decade and has a new coach with a modest track record since leaving here. I'm just happy to not be losing out to Glenn at this point. This is going to take a few years to get turned around. Being competent this year will be a great start.

  8. Not sure what that has to do with my post but whatever.

Point is be consistent about offer amounts if that is what concerns you. To me it really isn't that big of a deal since they are usually fairly close in amounts. Believe it or not, NDSU does offer MORE than other schools to some of their recruits. :silly:

and you are invited to make that information public, just like they are.

  9. Uhh did you read the article? Faison agreed on Taylor's terms, and then he sketched out. Real classy.

You mean like that time that one school sat on multiple contracts for several sports which they publicly and privately promised to sign only to publicly and with great fanfare cancel the whole thing at the last second, leaving the other school to find out from the media? You know, publicly lying to and misleading the other for the sole purpose of causing damage to their department? Yeah GT is totally in the wrong here and his position is without merit.

  10. I was bullied pretty viciously for several years (lets say 6th through 9th grade), standard stuff about how I should kill myself (yeah, I know many of you feel the same way about me), my family was terrible, my family should all die, how I was poor and had crappy clothes, I got in a few fights, and was on the receiving end of vandalism, theft etc. I never got any harassment for being a nerd because most of my tormentors were also very smart kids, so I actually got a weird respect in that angle. On a couple occasions even teachers went out of their way to humiliate me. In most ways it made me a better person, on the other hand I can't emotionally bond with anyone because I've learned by habit to keep *everything* to myself, because anything that was personal was a weapon to be used against me.

It's a tradeoff that I feel was worth it. Also 15 years later I still spend alot of time stewing on it.

We used to have teachers and the principle that would slam the bullies up against the lockers..........................fair to say those days are gone.

I saw at least two teachers deck a student while I was in 9th grade in Fargo. Neither got in trouble, circa 2001.
  11. oil industry won't last forever; the nickname will hopefully last much longer.

I have to think Rough Riders is the runaway favorite. Classic, historical and dignified. It can't come soon enough, whatever it is.

  12. The Brien logo is a caricature but the Blackhawk logo is not? HUH?

No, it's that Redskins is a racial slur used obnoxiously in a trashy manner.*

The Blackhawks are named after a military unit named after a native, and the logo is the only native imagery they use. No dancing indians on the ice before the game, no warpaint, mascots, etc. The difference is night and day.

*edit: and based in a city that is home to a government systematically conquered, deported and exterminated natives. It's like a team in Munich calling themselves the Shylocks.

  13. Gene Taylor clearly has an inflated ego, and is letting emotion guide his business decisions. As difficult as it is to schedule home and homes, there's no reason not to play a team an hour away.

I can understand why Gene would not find UND to be a trustworthy business partner. It's been ugly since before he got there, got uglier immediately, and showed little sign of change.

TBH if Faison was interested in renewing the rivalry he wouldn't whine to the media about it ever year. If anything is counterproductive, it's that. In fact, I'm pretty sure its the reason that the round of negotiations outlined in the article were cancelled.

  14. In two years the idiocy in your words will be self evident.

Personal attacks are contrary to board policy.

What exactly have you been right about so far? Anything? Maybe you'll get bailed out by unforeseen events, but right now you are grasping at straws that don't even exist.

Why weave this little narrative of your's together, that's what I don't understand.

  15. With no diversion Fargo will run out of room. I wouldn't buy any further south than they are currently building. I'm by Osgood and that's pushing the limits.

By Fargo, I meant to entire metro. Fargo the incorporated entity might be hemmed in at some point in the future, but that's a long way off.
  16. this thread is drowning in irony.

No reason to take a below market guarantee from someone who negotiates in bad faith.

If you won't play that is fine but own up to it and don't hide behind disingenuous negotions while you stall and then pull out of the verbal agreement you made.

This just shows a lack of character but we shouldn't be surprised.

All of these could just as easily be coming from the other direction.

NDSU doesn't want to play and they don't seem to care. Move on already.

  17. North Dakota may end up with six metro areas with more than 50,000 people. I guess Fargo won't take over the state as NDSU people have been spouting about.

Watford City and Stanley-Tioga would be the old Dickinson's and Williston's.

    http://www.thedickin...00m-development

Fargo is growing proportionally with the state (about 2.4% annually vs 2.5% for the state) and it's growth isn't based on a commodity that will eventually run out and facing a rapidly rising competitor. Agree with your main point though. Dickinson might fall a little short.

  18. You can quit coming to Siouxsports. As a bison fan, you have issues with everybody here.

Spears knew nothing about Idaho's short stay in the Sun Belt. IT wasn't til the letter I released that he fessed up. He wasn't telling the truth before so you expect him to fess up now?

The Big Sky released schedules after 2016 that don't have Idaho on them. But Idaho will part of Big Sky football by 2018 at the latest.

you're an idiot. Sorry that my loyalty to my university is less than my loyalty to sense and reason. You have yet to provide any evidence and all the involved parties view this as absurd. Remember when you got laughed off the sunbelt board after you brought this little scheme to their attention?

Your deranged ramblings are detrimental to the university, please have some self respect and stop this nonsense.

Idaho may very well end up back in the big sky for football, but it won't be because of some crazy scheme to take UNC, NAU and Weber State to the highest level of football. In fact I don't think anyone would be surprised if they eventually were forced back down, even if it's fairly unlikely in the near term. Montana is in the middle of an existential crisis and you think they are imminently reclassifying. Ridiculous.
