I'm not following this. Toews was underage, but Parise / Oshie were true freshman, just like Frisch, Pinto, Blaisdell and Caulfield are from this years team.

A freshman class based off of YOB is my nightmare scenario. Halliday is off to a slow start, not saying he doesn't need another year, but I bet you lose him if he gets delayed. No way Bowen gets delayed.

I agree with the Stephen Halliday assessment. I believe the kid would look elsewhere if delayed

and where Arnold and Sinbad fought in Jingle All the Way, and many others.  Mickey's is not the copycat here, but more of a landmark (of sorts).

Places in Fargo-Moorhead that haven't changed would be tough as Fargo turns over so much that even places like Duffy's Tavern (opened in the late 1960's) probably look a little different.  Though not open as long, Vic's in Moorhead hasn't changed much to my memory. Honorable mention to Mick's Office, though I believe it moved in the last 30 years.  Dilworth still has the real Hi-Ho.

Mick’s Office has been in that location for at least thirty years. I spent three days there one night in the late 80’s with their long islands teas. Great blue collar bar with a college mix. Still has cheap draft beer and pounders with dollar 1/4lb burgers on Tuesdays.

And of course, the Hi Ho is still pretty awesome just not as affordable as it once was.

Thanks for the heads up, booked my flight last night because how can you pass that deal up? #AlwaysAHomeGame

No problem. I like when people post that type of information on the logistics of tickets, venues, flights, hotels or restaurants. It makes the whole fan experience a lot more fun and often more accessible than we thought

Was this Only a one day promo?

Yes it was. The only requirement was a three day notice. I watch Frontier for flights for FARGO to DU & CC. And for Minneapolis to Cincinnati (Miami, OH is 40 miles away)

Frontier will probably be my hookup for the Nashville game

Seems clear to me that the B1G has made hockey second fiddle to football. As long as they continue to do that, I don’t see B1G hockey growing and prospering as much as it potentially could.

And once bouncy ball starts where will it be? Hockey is the red headed ba$tard

  6. Saw defensive recruit Luke Reid (Chicago Steel) against the Force last night. Still a young player. Played well in a fast paced physical game. Good skater. Seemed to transition well with the puck.

Former GF Red River player Mason Salquist got some playing time for Fargo.

  7. Went to the Force game. Randklev was not noticeable. But neither was Tristan Broz (MN) although a little better skater.

Western Michigan recruit Cedric Fiedler (Force #5) was the dude. Strong, smart and physical. Could get under your skin. Kind of like AJ Pierzynski: when he’s on your team, you hate him a little less

  8. Thank you. Yes I am that old, slow and technologically disadvantaged and naive.

I also immensely dislike the terms ‘presser’ and ‘merch’ . Have people become that lazy with speech?

Starting times for the first two games of the American League Division Series between the Twins and Yankees have been set.

The teams will play Friday at 6:07 p.m. Central time at Yankee Stadium, with Saturday’s Game 2 set for 4:07 p.m. Central.

The Friday game is on MLB Network and Saturday’s game is on FS1.

The umpires for the Twins-Yankees series are Gary Cederstrom (crew chief), Todd Tichenor, Manny Gonzalez, Lance Barksdale, Eric Cooper and Adrian Johnson.

The other ALDS matchup will be top seed Houston playing either Oakland or Tampa Bay. The first two games of that series, in Houston, will be Friday at 1:07 p.m. and Saturday at 8:07 p.m.

I met Gary Cederstrom (Minot) in Foley’s bar (must see, incredible) in NYC after a Twins game in 2006. I was wearing a Sioux wind breaker, and the umpires that he was with, thought that the interlocking ND on the sleeve (from a distance) was for Norte Dame. He knew it was North Dakota was very approachable.

Late the next night I was in the same bar, and the bartender recognizing me from the previous night says "hey, you missed Torii Hunter and a few players earlier”. I said damn, when did they leave? He replied "When Gardenhire and the coaches came in.” Bartender told me that Gardenhire liked to bartend and would frequently (when Twins were in town) go behind the bar and wait on people.

The bar is wall to wall, floor to ceiling, sports history

And Kaepernick still siting at home.  If he hasn't gotten the clue that he isn't good enough to be an NFL QB now (even as a backup), not sure he ever will.

I don’t care if it is, and has been collusion among the owners to let him rot at home. Protest your misguided actions on your own time, not during your job which has made you a multimillionaire in the greatest country in the world.

I haven’t seen Kaepernick in MSP or anywhere else protesting perceived discriminations. Google ‘Minneapolis assaults’. It’s sickening, but yet there has been minimal national attention.

.....end of rant. God bless America and those who defend her.
