I think it’s funny that college hockey tweeters Chris Dilks, Nicole Haase, and Nate Wells got their panties in a bunch over the temerity of UND to purchase advertising during the tv broadcast of a women’s college hockey game during hockey day Minnesota. I guess it’s good to see the women’s college game healthy enough to be picky about who pays for advertising during their games.

‘temerity.’ There is a word that you do not see everyday. I like it. I may be so bold as to use it today.

  2.   I as well enjoyed listening to Woog during the broadcasts: “that’s been going on before the Dead Sea got sick” & listening to him struggle and stumble with a few names like Rastislav Spirko, although I’m sure that he embellished a few times for the humor. College hockey lost a good one and a character.

A sincere and heartfelt tip of the hat tonight to Doug and the Gopher Family. R.I.P. Wooger.

I see there are already tickets for sale on Craigslist... Those people are irritating. If you have zero intentions if ever actually attending the event then leave the tickets for someone who does... Not to make a profit

I posted the same sentiment after the Vegas game ....... and some on here wanted to throw rocks at me. Which is understandable, but still. It just doesn’t sit well.

As far as a player who gave everything he had, balls to the walls every shift, I think Stechy did this every time. Comparison wise, I think Stech just completely maximized ever inch of God given talent and his work ethic made him a UND legend, in my eyes. Certainly not a knock on any of those players listed, but in terms of maximizing his talent with this work ethic, I have no problem placing Stech up there.

I’ll take Chris Porter under the terms that you described. Maybe Spiewak as a personal favorite

It will be interesting to see how many Penn St fans attend. I would set the over/under at 1,000 as they play Iowa at home in football the same day which will greatly deteriorate their attendance.

I would still take the over. I was hoping for a good contingent of fans (2-3000) to make the journey for Penn State. But football is king there. Might be hard to give up a Saturday of fun & football in the fall to follow a fairly new program. They are easily my favorite, and only team, in the Big 10. (Gopher eliminators)

Just in time for the airlines to still not have flights available to book.

Maybe 8 cities within 250 miles of Nashville to fly into if you want to do a little exploring while traveling and make a week out of it. I plan on visiting the Ark Encounter south of Cincinnati on this trip. Chattanooga is beautiful also. Memphis, other than the bbq, is an armpit in my opinion

I'm not following this. Toews was underage, but Parise / Oshie were true freshman, just like Frisch, Pinto, Blaisdell and Caulfield are from this years team.

A freshman class based off of YOB is my nightmare scenario. Halliday is off to a slow start, not saying he doesn't need another year, but I bet you lose him if he gets delayed. No way Bowen gets delayed.

I agree with the Stephen Halliday assessment. I believe the kid would look elsewhere if delayed

and where Arnold and Sinbad fought in Jingle All the Way, and many others.  Mickey's is not the copycat here, but more of a landmark (of sorts).

Places in Fargo-Moorhead that haven't changed would be tough as Fargo turns over so much that even places like Duffy's Tavern (opened in the late 1960's) probably look a little different.  Though not open as long, Vic's in Moorhead hasn't changed much to my memory. Honorable mention to Mick's Office, though I believe it moved in the last 30 years.  Dilworth still has the real Hi-Ho.

Mick’s Office has been in that location for at least thirty years. I spent three days there one night in the late 80’s with their long islands teas. Great blue collar bar with a college mix. Still has cheap draft beer and pounders with dollar 1/4lb burgers on Tuesdays.

And of course, the Hi Ho is still pretty awesome just not as affordable as it once was.

Thanks for the heads up, booked my flight last night because how can you pass that deal up? #AlwaysAHomeGame

No problem. I like when people post that type of information on the logistics of tickets, venues, flights, hotels or restaurants. It makes the whole fan experience a lot more fun and often more accessible than we thought

Was this Only a one day promo?

Yes it was. The only requirement was a three day notice. I watch Frontier for flights for FARGO to DU & CC. And for Minneapolis to Cincinnati (Miami, OH is 40 miles away)

Frontier will probably be my hookup for the Nashville game

Seems clear to me that the B1G has made hockey second fiddle to football. As long as they continue to do that, I don’t see B1G hockey growing and prospering as much as it potentially could.

And once bouncy ball starts where will it be? Hockey is the red headed ba$tard

  12. Saw defensive recruit Luke Reid (Chicago Steel) against the Force last night. Still a young player. Played well in a fast paced physical game. Good skater. Seemed to transition well with the puck.

Former GF Red River player Mason Salquist got some playing time for Fargo.
