  1. I had called the Scheels Arena box office last week to inquire as well. As last year at this time I was one of the few fortunate enough to have bought tickets at the box office. They replied that at this point in time they were not releasing any information as to a purchase date at the arena, and the season ticket holder would be notified shortly.

  2. Looks like Hornbachers in GF has put the finishing touches on the proposed PepperJax restaurant in the NE corner of the grocery store parking lot (said to block visibility of the store). The excavation has been filled in and the surface has been paved over. Will the city be writing a big check to cover the losses incurred?

  3. Romo's is the best! Holy smokes their smothered large burrito dinner is killer! It is huge with chips, salsa, and unlimited soda for around $10.  Sure beats the yuppie food from chipotle (although good). I've only eaten at the 13th Ave. location. I tell everybody about Romo's. I want them to survive and open in GF. Like JohnboyND7 said: "bring your 'A' game.

  4. The bigger part of the conversation with Lou Nanne had to do with the proposed legislation by the Big 10 hockey conference to the NCAA. It is on limiting the age to 20, or two years after graduation to enter college hockey or risk losing a year of elgibility if you enter older. It is on College Hockey News and it deserves its own thread on this forum if somebody wants to start one with the link. ( I'm too old to figure out how to do that ) Nanne stopped short of calling Lucia an idiot because it would be detrimental to the niche sport that college hockey is. Nanne did however call the proposed plan ridiculous ( his own words ) to the success of college hockey. Apparently at the April coaches meeting the proposal had been rejected by a vote of 49-11 but the BIG 10 has since gone forward and submitted it.

Edit: I see that this discussion is already in the college hockey thread

  5. I don't like the cheer. Wouldn't do it in front of my girls, my sister, my mother, my grandmother, or any of yours. More so, I feel it is more a reflection of the the hurler of the cheer and not the intended target. I can't recover the stone after I throw it. Not perfect here, been there done that, just trying to move onward and upward. Some bumps in the road of my life have led to more careful introspection. But, we remain a free people.
