  1. I still have to laugh that the students think it is a great thing to copy the M-I-N-N-E-S-O-T-A chant after the school song. Never have liked their spelling lesson, and like copying another schools dumb chant even less.

I didn't know they did that, but I also hate the "Always were/That's debatable" cheers after power plays. Hated it when I went to school at U of M, and really hated hearing UND fans saying it the last few years. Terrible.

  2. I am sure this has been mentioned someplace by now, but I was a final five faithful for the longest time and wasn't sure about this new setup so I didn't get a package. Can a friend and I just get night game individual tickets at the door to watch the Sioux or are they two game deals only and we might as well watch half of the second game when we get there instead of go to the Pourhouse deal?

You should probably be able to just get tickets at the door, I doubt it'll be sellouts either day. But for the weekend you'll only need two tickets, one for Friday and one for Saturday. Each ticket gets you in to two games. Re-entry IS allowed, so if you don't want to stay for all of the early game Friday, you won't have to. Hope that helps!

  3. My group is making our first trip to the cities for the Conference Tournament. We are staying near the Mall of America and are planning on taking the Light Rail downtown to the Target Center for the games. Just curious if this is a good idea or not?

Yeah it is. Should be pretty easy. Just give yourself a little extra time in case you have to wait for a train or they get packed. It's a pretty carefree way of getting to and from downtown.

  4. Maybe it's changed, or perhaps that's what it is later in the evening. When I've been there it's been 5pm or so, prior to a Twins game. Completely different than what you're describing. And again, I haven't been there in a year, so things could be different there now.

Good point. I am talking about later in the night. A coworker of mine loves going to Whiskey Park after work even if we are having Happy Hour elsewhere. I think they do a Beat the Bartender-type dice game where you can win free drinks. Never been there for that myself though. I did pregame there for a Twins game a year or two ago though and ordered a $10 frozen pizza, so I wouldn't reccomend that.

  5. Whisky Park (5th St and Hennepin) used to have free tacos/dogs (IIRC) prior to Twin's games. Was a nice, fairly quiet place to have a drink and a quick bite prior to the game. I haven't been there in a year so don't know if things have changed.

Whiskey Park is horrible. Always pretty empty, dance party scene, and they charge a cover. I try to stay away as much as possible.

  6. What is the free fan fest? Does each team have their own area and stuff going on? Is it like a big tailgating party? Beer and food for sale? Are there other common bars or restaurants that UND fans gather? I don't remember for sure, but I think we're staying at DoubleTree suites. It's 7 blocks away and it's a Hilton so were able to use points to bring the price down. I have the information written down, but not with me.

The Pourhouse is supposed to be the "UND bar." It's like two blocks from the Target Center and has a secret bookcase door upstairs.

  7. Think it looks a long way to the ice with the gaps in the corner. If you're higher up it may be fine. Who knows? Pictures can be deceiving. How long can the WCHA hold the X with low attendance? I miss St. Paul already.

I wen to a Gophers-Badgers hockey game at the Target Center a few years ago, and I'm pretty sure they had temporary seating in the corners. They just may not have them in yet because they would interfer for basketball somehow.
