Nicely put.
Nodaks and North Stars are just non-starters for me. Fighting Hawks is just so generic, but I could deal with it I guess. I don't have the vitriolic hatred of Sundogs as most do, I think it is a cool atmospheric phenomena (my bias showing through - hence my username), and Urban Dictionary is just the dumbest reason to drop something. That said, I understand that most hate it. That leaves roughriders, which is what I figured would be the name since this all started a million years ago.

My thoughts exactly. And yes, I did send President Kelley an email reminding him of the criteria on which the new nickname should be chosen.

Nick Mattson has agreed to a one-year deal with AHL Rockford.
The Rockford IceHogs are affiliated with the Chicago Blackhawks. Mattson was taken by Chicago with the 180th overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He went on to play for the University of North Dakota and is going pro after completing his senior year. He had four goals and 21 points in 33 games last season. -

Soooo...now that the dust has settled. Have any UND fans now adopted the Flyers as their new favorite NHL team?
They've kinda always been my Eastern Conference team, so I'm pretty pumped.

Do people who support that name actually think it sounds good?
That was my thought too. That's why I think if Nokota is to be the nickname, it needs to be Fighting or Charging or Wild or SOMETHING between Dakota and Nokota.

I get that it's a secret deal. However, the fact that you say members are supposed to be secret and the fact that you spout off about it doesn't really add up. I have a feeling that the GOBC would "communicate" and "market" themselves more than enough without your drunken posts on SiouxSports.com. It wouldn't have been that hard for that person to add the name to the list without being found out though, would it have? It's not like he'd have had to proclaim "I'm in the GOBC and am going to add Big Cocks to the list" out loud to everyone!
I'm starting to think this is a farce, and you're making stuff up as you go. You haven't had any credible inside info that's come to fruition lately and these latest nickname developments aren't helping your cause.
I can't believe that with his HUGE salary, gfhockey can't afford a computer that can correctly submit things online.
