  1. They asked us who we were cheering for and when we told them is when they got all bent out of shape.
  2. We had a group in Chicago and the town and locals were great. The arena is not very close to many bars so we ended up Thursday afternoon at Park Tavern...newer place and home of the Harvard pregame party. The Harvard folks were fun and they had other Eastern school folks, Yale, Northeastern and Union supporting them who actually were pretty fun. Ran in to some Duluth folks there and lost even more respect for there fans...got all bent out of shape when I told them I wanted Harvard and Denver in the final. Thursday crowd was ok but it was easy to sit anywhere in the arena you wanted. We ended up by a bunch of scouts and agents and they thought UND had the best fan base ever and knew the entire event would be different with them in it. Not many Chicago people we talked to over the four days even knew the Frozen Four was in town. Saturday had lots of non-hockey people at the event...we ran in to a couple of rugby teams that were in town and decided to attend...they got really cheap tickets. Duluth definitely had the more energetic crowd on Friday and Denver was it's usual quiet and reserved.
  3. I am a North Dakota guy who now lives in the Tampa area and am on the Board of Directors for BikeWalkTampaBay and am going throw a little plug out there. If you want a fun and easy way to get around downtown Tampa check out the link below. It is a bike share program and is really pretty sweet. I will see if I can get some sort of discount code for the Sioux fans. Be safe if you do the bike thing or are out walking...lets all have fun and get home to attend another Frozen Four. I am pretty sure that Amalie Arena will have a bike valet as they do for Lightning games and other events where you can securely park your bike for free. http://coastbikeshare.com/
  4. Tickets are sold to a Sioux fan. Have fun in Tampa and go get number 8.
  5. I have two full session hard tickets for sale at $540 for both. These are in Row K and they are going to a Sioux fan. I am a North Dakota native and now live in Tampa area and I can meet up Thursday before the first game or if you are in the Tampa area we can figure something out before that. Let me know if you are interested.
  6. I am a North Dakota native and now live in the Tampa area as well and have a few ideas for everyone. I would recommend The Getaway which is on Gandy Blvd close to the dog track and Redneck Riviera...right on the water, multiple outdoor tiki bars, tons of fun outdoor seating and the food is amazing. If you do the Frenchy's thing get a card and if you get to each one, I think there are four or five, and buy a certain cocktail you get a free t-shirt...all of them are within walking distance in Clearwater Beach. If you are in Ybor City definitely go to Columbia Restaurant and anyone who doesn't want to go to Ybor and is in the Clearwater area go to Columbia on Sand Key...if you want original Cuban food this is the place to go. My favorite St Pete area place is Hofbrauhaus...it is designed after the original in Munich and has great food, big steins of delicious beer, music and of course German looking waitresses in full costume. For downtown Tampa I like Jacksons which sits on the water and has good food. Off the food stuff...if you want to get out fishing you have lots of options and fishing is great inshore, near shore and off shore. If you like dog racing then Derby Lane is a great time...they run afternoons and evenings on lots of days...check the schedule. It is right across the Gandy bridge from downtown Tampa and close to the Getaway for a full day of fun and relaxing. If you like horse racing Tampa Bay Downs is a great track and another fun day can be had watching horses and/or playing poker. Hope you all have a great time in Tampa and get to enjoy the outdoors.
  7. Let's not forget about Virgil "Quicksilver" Hill...Olympic Silver medalist and multiple time boxing world champ.
  8. We will make it four fans then--drove from Minneapolis to Indianapolis last night and heading to Cincy on Friday morning.
  9. All right so talking hockey in the bars in Minneapolis area and what do the guys all ask--How is the Tribe gonna be this year? HMMM wondering if that would fly--its original, its not deragatory to Native Americans I dont think as it goes beyond just Native Americans and going by The Tribe from The University of North Dakota gives it the difference from other schools that are The University of (fill in blank) (some animal, weather or color nickname). Just a little thinking going on in my way to many beers and shots over my lifetime brain. The choice of new nickname, which of course the general public and/or UND students, alumni and faculty will have no say on probably in the end anyways.
  10. We are looking for two full strips if any one has a couple they would like to sell to some old Sioux fans. Please feel free to email me at zimprich@hotmail.com or call 651-245-6128.
  11. We had a few cute girls sporting some Colorado College jerseys in front of us along with some guys in gopher attire.
  12. Anyone going to be around on Friday night and if so where you going to get a beer before hand--we will be in town for the Friday games and always up for a frosty one before a good game.
