Don't we hear from @Bison Dan that Fargodome operates at a profit?
Where are those dollars for improvements? Why tax increases?

About seating: They should salvage the red/blue seats and sell them to VCSU to redo Lokken Stadium. :D

I think the Dome is throwing in 32 million.>>>?????

Did you miss the 3% lodging tax.  City and the county would increase.

Didnt miss it at all. But its a separate item. BTW I ve been to cities with a bigger hotel tax than Fargo. Why conflate the two?

They should, but I think the NCAA sets the prices, or am I wrong there? Also, you would think there would be limited students as well.

NCAA doesnt set the price. But they do have a caveat when hosting that you CANT discount the ticket prices by a certain amount. Of which I cant remember.

Probably would have if they would have bothered to put a bid in.

This was negotiated before the matchup was even set.

Regionalization isn't about spreading games out, its about reducing travel costs and making them bus rides if possible.

I know that but the committee can do crazy stuff at times to spread things out.

No, the MVFC does not kick in any money. And that was something that hadn't been done before.
If the committee decides to award a home game to a team regardless of bid, then how exactly would you propose to combat that? Earning a seed is the obvious answer but that isn't going to happen every year (or be awarded even if deserved I guess). If UND puts out a bid that beats everyone (outside of Montana) and still doesn't get selected, what can they actually do?

Absolutely get the frustration. But if what everyone is reading between the lines on is close to accurate, there is some real BS going on with the committee.

Could be part of regionalization?  Having two playoff games 90 miles apart might not be what they are looking for?

Agreed, amazed they would offer him based on what I saw in his time at NDSU. Fine, serviceable player, but not a real game breaker in my view.

They may not of offered him anything more than a walkon and if you do well theres a scholly waiting for you.  I cant imagine them offering anything more that that.

So you are implying NCAA violations?

Nope . Why would there be a violation? The coaches have been quoted saying the same. The players have also said so. So why do you automatically

    Have to conjoure up BS?

The timing is if these kids want to keep playing CFB, opening their recruitment before signing day in December makes sense. These kids need to have open scholarship money to land somewhere. These kids are not like Jabril Cox that can pick their school and a school will create a scholarship for them. If they don’t get their name out there now they may end up without a home for next year.

Correct the time frame to enter such especially since its playoff time. ut it is what it is.

It is illegal for NDSU to spend more time with their players than allowed. Kramer is not the reason why players keep transferring lately. Take off the Bison PJs and think.

Kramers face time is a fact. Why you had to mention a rule is meaningless. Who was talking about players transferring?

Great deflection when you get caught making a false statement.

  10. 4 hours ago, UND1983 said:

Lolol. Your program spends no more time than any other. Kramer is not the reason

Kramer is a huge reason. He actually has more face time with the players than the other coaches. Hes great at what he does.

Most players who have been through the program would tell you you are wrong.

Also not sold on this coaching staff and S/C staff to develop the young players into anything exceptional. They do alright, just not at a championship level.

Also, I’m now fully convinced UND with this staff will never have the team mentally prepared to consistently win big games. 7-4 is really the ceiling; can’t expect UND to win big road games, or even top 5 home games, which is necessary to be a top 5 team that’s gets home field advantage in playoffs. That needs to be goal; remember importance of being in Alerus all the way through in 2001? Being in the FD for nearly all the playoffs has been important to NDSU’s championship run.

Disappointing. Culture change needs to happen, and after 8 years of this staff, it won’t happen without change to some degree.

I posted this years ago------Bubba will not take you to the promised land.

And his play was just as dirty as his look. Every time I followed him, he was doing something egregious. I know it's complete bias, but the officials always seem to let SU get away with more than other teams. And then throw flags when their bench bitches.

    Wow just wow

  13. 41 minutes ago, nd1sufan said:

And if any of those plays happen and UND gets a little closer, NDSU probably doesn't completely close their playbook and doesn't run it up the middle every play with a 3 score lead. NDSU could have scored 60 if they needed to today. The only time they were stopped was when UND completely sold out on the run and NDSU still ran it up the middle just to burn clock.

The kicker is this team IMO isnt very good compaired to teams of the past.  Lots of issues  on Defense. Coaches and players.

They say no rivalry but ask any student with friends or high school classmates from each school, they trash the other school and then party after the game

sioux bison week was a week long trash fest when I was in school, and many professors talked as much football as they did class work.

except my abnormal psych teacher, he is another story

Only one person (Lakes) tries to keep the no rivalry narrative going. He an idiot so you really have to dismiss that talk.

No, no it wasn't.  For the 100th time, people were talking about the other sports more than FB.

It was misguided, however, as they acted like moving up to D1 means they are playing Duke every week in basketball etc.  Instead it was the Summit League.

Anyone with a brain knew that going FCS for football wasn't that massive of a jump.  Just like going from FCS to G5.

When Bison fans latch on to something it really takes on a life of its own.  It quite impressive. Like 30K at the Metrodome for the UM game. And "nobody at FBS level will even answer our calls"  :silly:

I find it interesting in how the narrative has changed with time.

they keep hammering it, in hopes that some how, some way , they can move up to FBS, and get their tails kicked just about every game

Thats what this board was saying when we moved up to FCS.

You can be assured that the P5 schools are already "paying their players!

You would be correct if you were to say some power 5 players are already being paid.

Yeah, the institutions need to play a role with NIL, it just so happens it might be unwritten. Grand Forks is a perfect community for NIL and recruiting college football players. For example, Lincoln and UNL Cornhusker FB program have a great partnership for NIL.

Rydell's, Altru, etc. all great possibilities to help *legally* recruit top football student-athletes to Grand Forks via NIL. The details are bit unclear right now from my perspective, but if there’s a will, there’s certainly a way with this.

All you have to do is develop an independent fund raising arm like many of the bigs have. Thats where a lot of the money comes from to buy out coaches contracts. The schools dont actually cough that money up.

Sanction a independent arm authorized to administer and gather NIL funds.
