  1. We aren't even in their class. We appear to lack talent and heart tonight.
  2. AGREE...and put them out with Woolly...need to generate something
  3. cant even enter the zone onside...do we even have a shot on goal?
  4. this NoDak team has zero offense. This is pathetic.
  5. Gooch again making us question his readiness for this level...
  6. i thought it was a screw up in the rankings
  7. everybody have a black screen on NCHC.tv?
  8. Ughhhh...he's one of the few that I have confidence can put the puck in the net...
  9. Is Randklev playing with Moorhead high again this year?
  10. Malone took a liberty on a player. Hit him from the front, but yes, there was contact to the head, thus illegal. When I re-watch it, it does look like Malone glides into the hit though, which makes me question the charge, but the clip I saw doesn't show much before the hit. While Martin is not a completely defenseless player, those type of super violent hits need to be taken out of the game. Its funny, when I played, I didn't feel that way...having a kid who plays...I feel that way now...you check to remove an opponent from the puck, not to remove an opponent's head from his body.
  11. Doug was one of the best guys in the business off the ice too. I was in Minny for a long time and had many run-ins with Wooger. One time I tried striking up a conversation with him at Senser's...years ago (announcing not coaching Woog). We were both watching DU play somebody...I went up to get a beer at the bar...he basically completely ignored me...I went back to my table...at the period break he came over and very apologetically explained that he wasn't trying to be rude, but that the Gophers were playing one of those teams next and he was trying to get a feel for them, their system, and players. He sat down with me and chatted hockey a bit. I had a few more run-ins with him where he was always super friendly. Seemed to remember me. I had my little boy up at the Ralph for a Gopher-Sioux series a year or so later and we were looking at the history murals...Wooger comes over, shakes my hand, and pats my little boy saying to him "wow, that's really impressive isn't it" while gesturing to the murals and champions...not a hint of sarcasm...a good man being respectful and sharing a hockey minute with a little boy. He's the aces as far as I'm concerned. Berry is too...also incredibly genuine and open, especially to the little kids.
  12. They will keep them split on 2 lines. Lukasavaages (sp) being the 4th man in their band...creates two lines of tough matchups. Being at home they can send set it up to try and get one of those lines out against our 3rd dpairing every third shift or so...
  13. Height is always an advantage (all else being equal) simple leverage.
  14. Yes, 2018-2019 would be considered his 20 year old season- its all based on birth year. A team can only carry 4 "overage" players on their roster (goalies excluded) 20 year olds are overagers by definition.
  15. A BC kid with that kind of skill...he'll go at the top of the WHL draft and play major junior
  16. Either they screwed up the number of games played for stats or they are playing in a league they don't belong in. Either way, those kind of numbers are probably not transferrable to the next level.
  17. I don't buy those stats. I pulled up his team on elite prospects, and it would indicate that his team averaged 13 goals per game. Maybe its a no-goalie league...
  18. Yes. Only prepares us better for when the games really count in March and April! Regardless of outcome, this is a key step in our process of getting better every week. The game, not the win or loss is what matters right now. That said. 3 points will go a long way.
  19. Borgstrom is so good. He's a legit bluechip NHL first rounder- think Parise, Oshie, Toews, Zajac, Stafford, Boeser caliber in the college game. He can win games by his individual skill alone. Throw in legit prospects in Terry and Gambrell...they are real good.
  20. These coaches are passionate competitors. Hard to contain it. Especially when you get swept off the #1 perch by a conference rival.
  21. Its up on Dave Berger's Twitter which is linked to the ss.com home page. Bobby was definitely dropping some fu and fo.
  22. not sure...they always sandbag a little...
  23. The Jones line plays up and down. The other 3 lines cycle and play puck possession the entire game. Borgstrom line draws the Bowen line or Gardner line as much as possible.
