  1. Back to the corny...going to be a long April. The thing with the markets, money is like a drunk teenage sailor on shore leave- it’s looking for any action it can find, and it will find it. Once business starts opening up again, the markets will have a huge rally as that money sitting on the sidelines will be looking for action. If businesses can survive the next 2-3 months...just survive...things will turn. Positive thoughts for the day!
  2. Agree, and If JBD wants to skate next to Chabot, he needs another year of seasoning. Pinto’s game totally translates to NHL too...that punishing style though will take a toll on the body over 82+ games...better to build it up in college another year. It is not a race, it’s a process, and the NHL and AHL are not development leagues. They are finished product leagues.
  3. Totally agree. The best athletes don’t need all those reps early. It is too much. I already see it with my 9 year old’s peers. After a major tryout a dad asked me in private how many hours per week we trained. I said structured we did 2 hours of team practice, 1/2 hour of on ice group skills, 1/2 hour of on-ice individual skills, and 1 hour of off-ice quickness and agility training (non- hockey specific)/ week during the season plus whatever game(s) is on the calendar. Then he screws around with buddies or in the garage on his own, but I don’t count unstructured, as that is truly playtime. He shook his head realizing the error of his ways and said “well that’s why my kid didn’t show as well, the child is exhausted. We have him doing 15+ hours/week structured.” My jaw dropped. gotta keep it fun and keep them from burning out.
  4. I heard R Kelly is scared of it...he was cool with covid 15 or 16 though
  5. This isn’t about the Chinaman, dude
  6. In all seriousness, this !@#!$ time for Sioux hockey and for the economy and for people’s health...glad I’ve been able to bs with all of you or at least most of you. We’ll get through this.
  7. I feel like our family is closer and we’re at 20 days...
  8. Payers already being asked to provide cash advances and emergency cash flow. ICU beds are expensive to staff...and yes a lot of high margin procedures are being postponed or canceled.
  9. And then 2 more and then 2 more and then 2 more? LOL
  10. It’s the corny damit!
  11. Are you going to stream it on Facebook live? in all seriousness, being in CA, I almost forgot about the timing of this in ND/Minny- after enduring the long, dark days of winter.
  12. Corny don’t care, corny don’t givashit I think expectation management has been poor, because people didn’t have enough info. CA has been predicting clearing the hump fully by Memorial Day.
  13. I think the best players play regardless of how much their heart is into a particular sport. Multiple sports are good for young athletes, reduce injuries, fuel passion for the sport they love. Keep them busy, making more and different friends, and staying in shape while learning different skills. summer off means different things too...completely off? That takes away some great opportunities. I do say mostly off most years. Meaning less structure, but still doing a tournament or a camp or two. Always good to be doing unstructured stuff with buddies. As long as they are staying active is what really matters-,swimming, biking, skateboarding, tennis, baseball- you name it.
  14. I’ve decided to nickname the disease “the corny virus”. The “corny” for short.
  15. Right...they clearly have on masks and Face shields and scrubs...then they have added the garbage bag toga...
  16. Not an early departure, but the NCHC loses a great player to graduation and to the Boston Bruins. Congrats to Jack Ahcan!
  17. Honestly, I haven’t heard about any significant shortage in CA at the moment...and I would hear directly. Projections for possibly...hence the production ramp up. AND not every person in care delivery needs full Coronavirus gear... this has become so political, everybody has their wants, needs and wishlists... im not watching any “news” media. It’s all complete garbage. Absolute and complete. Oh, and we have the most advanced healthcare on the planet. We don’t stock up with tons of bio hazard gear, because we are the first world.
  18. I love NYC, I worked there in my younger days. There are many aspects of that city that have third world characteristics
  19. Blame the hospital administration, don’t blame the government.
  20. Zegras a one and done at BU

  22. I rest my case.
  23. Too much of this country on both sides has become party over country...we leveraged the union to become the super power of the 20th century...maybe we should splinter to remain viable in the 21st?
  24. As I advanced in my career, one of the greatest blind spots I’ve observed in many talented people is their inability to appreciate the fact that they dont know what they don’t know or they assume that they have the same basis in data or understanding as others in the room. It applies to both IQ and EQ facets. To me it’s the biggest hurdle for people trying to get the executive suite. It’s painfully obvious that it applies to the body politic in spades and half of that body having no actual talent.
