  1. Good point on playing in the best arena. I agree that the B should stay out west. I don't think though that the east doesn't give it the respect it deserves. It seems more like the east does not have the right facility to hold it in. People in the east have always loved the B. The atmosphere of because of the size of the Bismarck Civic is what made it so good. From an economic stand point I understand why the east would want the tourny. It has to be a bigger impact than the hockey tourny does.

True. Respect wasn't the best word. The Fargo Civic seemed to be rocking in Fargo during the last week or so, but schools a shorter drive away were involved and it is a larger facility then any of their schools can provide.

Perhaps when the shack is remodeled in 2 years, it may consider hosting the B.

  2. Sad as it is maybe having the tourny next year at the Scheels will create some of the old atmosphere. The REA is just to darn big. Reminds me of the Minnesota girls tourny being played at the X instead of Ridder where it belongs.

I agree about having it in Scheels. The trouble is, teams don't make the tourney every year and to deny the kids a chance to play there is hard to place in the way of atmosphere. (Scheels is great don't get me wrong)

I was a freshman at umary and a kid from Hazen was telling me about his High school football run and getting to play in the Fargodome. Sometimes where you play is part of the experience for the kids.

Keep the B in Bismarck/minot where it belongs. East doesn't really respect it like it deserves.

  3. I don't think it would look any worse than Brett Hull skating for Team USA. Don Cherry wouldn't care...but he'd call for his firing if Canada won anything less than gold.

I thought it was a 'born in' classification. Not are you still a citizen. Maybe thats where he falls in a grey area of consideration. Easier to find pure bloods. He does have "american" kids.

  4. Per Hak at Sioux Boosters lunch in Fargo today, he is not optimistic about Dell returning and Kristo is 50/50 with Montreal being in turmoil he may elect to wait until things are settled. He doesn't want to come in under one group and have his fate controled by someone he doesn't know.

He said he has been surprised in the past but those are the only two that he has any indication on as early departures.

  5. There's that saying that "school will always be there, hockey may not." I'd guess with the hockey-rich family tradition, there might have been more of a push. Just a guess, though.

But then you have a kid who, IMHO, is more NHL ready physically in Bjugstad, but his Unlce(who played, and still works with many NHL Players) was very open on PA saying the Nick needs another year. I know Nick is only 18 and Brock is 19 but, I would think they would want him to have the best chance to succeed.

  6. Yeah but hasn't that kid come out and basically said that he is committed to playing at UND? I don't know we will see, they said the same thing about Toews as well.

JT Miller was "excited to be going to N. Dakota" at the NHL Draft.

  7. ESPN pays for the rights for all NCAA championships they want to broadcast.( excludes fcs football and d-1 basketball). They just announced an extension last fall to 2020, I think it was.

I think them letting it syndicate at all was a good deal considering it hasn't in the past.

Their talent is subpar but their is really not much we can do.

  8. it is

so the Trauma exposed the problem but didn't cause it.

Also, Who do we know what this is? Aren't there privacy laws that stop that? Or did I miss the announcement?

  9. Just to clarifiy, the speculation, as posted by a few on this site, is his injury was traumatic in nature causing bipartite patella. IF this is the case, immediate surgery for this type of traumatic injury/problem generally results in a fairly quick return to normal activity...usually in the 1-2 month range. To say surgery was going to be season ending whenever it occurred and he wouldn't have been back by now if he would have had immediate surgery following the Goph's series in Minneapolis, is speculation as well...unless you are his Dr. Every injury situation is different, but I would question your bolded comment above as fact. And no I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Bottom line, it's disappointing he won't be playing the rest of the year.

    I thought this was congenital?

  10. Going into the weekend we need 2, I would love 3, and would have a hard time believing 4.

Remember we struggle Fridays in St. Clown. 0-7-4 Friday 9-1-1 Sat since ‘98 Let's hope Lee is back in net since he has not beaten us.

As much fun as it would be to see Tater out on the ice, I just can't see him being in good enough shape to keep up. Playing goalie is a whole different condition. Think marathoner to Sprinter. Both are in shape but for different tasks.

I'll be there in the Lower bowl behind the box for my 4th year in a row and just got my voice back from the gooferz series.

    GO SIOUX NoDak!
