  1. I hope a solid raft of students stay in town for the games.  I hope that all of the pretty socialites get off of their high horses, and that everyone is willing to raise the roof on The Ralph for the first time ever.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

By the looks of ticket sales so far, it doesn't look like anyone is interested in these games. There are a lot of great tickets still for sale.

  2. Another interesting point by this bracketology:

Ohio State could theoretically put up enough of a game to knock UMN off!   Don't expect it, but it is more possible than their previous 1st round opponents.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Anyone can "theoretically" knock anyone off in the tournament.

  3. UND's Zajac reminds me of a former Sioux who went on to have a fairly successful NHL career...........Troy Murray.  Good all-around, two-way player.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree, he reminds me of Murray also, a lot.

  4. Just because it is his dream doesn't necessarily mean it's going to happen.

I went to UND with Kyle Graalum's sister.  She said that all Kyle ever wanted to do was to play for the Sioux.  It's not happening and probably will never happen.

I'm not doubting the skill of Johnson or Fisher, but I am saying that just because it is a dream, doesn't mean that it's going to become a reality.

We don't take all comers like NDSU does

With all respect to Graalum, he came from a very weak program in high school and has never had the skills Fisher or Johnson have, nor did he ever face the competition they did.

I'm not saying that Johnson or Fisher are Sioux material, but your comparison is a joke. They are not even in the same league.

  5. I wouldn't even consider it an upset if UMD wins.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree, that wouldn't be much of an upset. If there were a lot more points or wins separating them in the standings, than yes, but both have probably "underachieved" this year, so I don't think it is that much of an upset.

  6. Both Rich Glas and his wife are big assets to the GF community, and for that reason I want to see them stay despite the fact that I also believe it's definitely time for a coaching change. It really could be a win-win situation for Rich to be out of the high-pressure, high-stress world of college coaching and into a job where his people-skills can be utilized for the benefit of UND.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    Very well said

  7. In the paper, I think it said game times would be announced today.  Does anyone know what time on Friday the Sioux play?

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

    This is from fightingsioux.com

    Friday's matchups

    #3 Regis vs. #6 Minnesota Duluth, 12 p.m.

#2 Minnesota State, Moorhead vs. #7 St. Cloud State, 2 p.m.

    #4 Concordia-St. Paul vs. #5 Metro State, 4 p.m.

#1 North Dakota vs. #8 Fort Hays State, 6 p.m.

    Saturday's matchups

    Regis/UMD winner vs. MSU Moorhead/SCSU winner, 4 p.m.

Concordia/Metro State winner vs. UND/Ft. Hays State winner, 6 p.m.

    Monday's game

North Central Region championship game, 7 p.m.

  8. Maybe his time has come to step away from coaching at UND but no doubt he would do a fine job in many other positions with the school

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I agree with this. Rich is a good guy and is very well liked and I have no doubt he would be great in a position like Bollinger's current one.

  9. My information in previous post comes from the undalumni.org. The servers have been at the REA for the last two years. The person responsible last year left the athletic department and Rudoph was given the responsibility last fall, after UND considered dropping the streamed audio entirely. The alumni people are speculating that someone is not checking/forgetting to start one of the servers.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Thanks for checking on that stuff sprig, I personally don't have to use the audio, thank goodness, but I know plenty of friends who rely on it.

It is really mind boggling to think that they even considered dropping the streamed audio entirely. You can probably find streamed audio of Dickinson St. wrestling matches, no offense to Dickinson, just making a point that this is too big of school with a huge fan base to not have this stuff running properly.

  10. Really don't know, but the athletic department did assign someone the job of getting the audio up and running; not sure where the servers are, at the REA or in some other building at the college. At any rate, it's not getting done.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

With as big of a college as UND is and how many alumni are out there and are interested in listening to the games, it is almost embarassing that they have so many problems getting the audio to work.

  11. What happened to the REA people that used to post on here?  I know there was one person that answered a lot of questions about dataflix.  Are there any REA employees that can read this forum and help fix the problems with the audio and video broadcasts?  Maybe they got fired for slacking off when they were providing customer service here.  :D

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

this is just a question, but would REA have anything to do with the broadcasts on the radio, especially road games. Is this the radio station's problem? I have no idea, just a question.

  12. I want to remind people like Cratter and CoteauRinkRat that players also have the ability to read these forums and freedom of speech or not, you might want to take into consideration what you're saying before you spend your life ripping into women half your age.

    <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

The men's team is fair game, but not the women's?

I haven't read a post where I personally "ripped" into any of the women players, if I did, I'm sorry, but I don't think I did.

I guess we just won't talk about the women's team on here then.
