  1. Then continue to be that big fish. Apparently your strategy bodes you well. Best of luck. GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  2. BTW, how many sioux fans would be in favor of a FB game with the Bison say, next year, since the schedules are already set for '05? You can't tell me that the schollies would make THAT much of a difference (reference Montana). Do you still think you could take us?? I'm serious. GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  3. Point taken. The Bob Babich years were not kind to the Bison. Things have changed. In time, the Bison will be hosting playoff games to the tune of 20,000 plus. Let the Sioux Crew continue to channel their taunts towards GVSU. While that gets old we'll be doing our own thing. When are you going to declare your DI exploratory year? Seriously. GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  4. That's a fair assumption. As a matter of fact, 3 yrs ago when NDSU was merely entertaining the DI idea I was skeptical. My thoughts: why ruin a successful DII program for the sake of pipe dreams. Honestly. Being a native North Dakotan, I can identify with others in the region that people-in general-don't like change. Now that I've settled down & taken the time to educate myself and look at the big picture I can fully appreciate the move as a whole. I know you've been paying attention to this and that's why the key word thrown around have been TRANSITION and PROCESS. Of course we won't be successful overnight. Who could realistically expect that? I sure didn't. You don't just go from DII to DI overnight. Besides FB, I don't expect this whole process to come to fruition for at least 10-15 yrs. I am willing to deal with that, as are many others. The bigger picture will always outweigh the small picture. There eventually had to be a time to do this and the time is now. UND's time, when they see fit, will also come, and hopefully then we can agree. GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  5. Did you maybe stop to think that I don't come to siouxsports.com enough to edit my profile to the point that you feel appropriate? Tell me you're not that petty What's up with the beagle, anyway?? Kinda weird... GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  6. Yes I did notice that (afterwords, of course). Wrong click of the mouse I guess. Hopefully my points still ring true... GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  7. I am legitimately curious. With all of the conference shuffling going on these days, why has Winona State not been invited to join the NCC? I have garnered some respect for their FB team the last couple of yrs but admittedly don't know much about their other sports programs. I know they have a pretty decent fan base so why have they not been invited into the NCC? Is it $$$$, lack of support, complacency in running the tables in the NSIC??? What is it? GO BISON!! 2005 Great West Champions
  8. I agree with Bison Dan in that NDSU saw the writing on the wall and took a proactive stance regarding the move up. I don't necessarily think that UND fails to see the decline in quality of d2. I just don't understand all of the criticism leveled at NDSU the past couple of years by (mostly) UND fans. Some of these same fans are now warming up to the idea of DI. I understand why both schools want to do what they perceive as best for themselves so let's just leave it at that and stop all the negativity/criticism. NDSU feels that we've made the right choice and we will move forward. Let UND do what they feel is best. GO BISON!!

    2005 Schedule

What about Crookston? Maybe you guys should call Mary or Mayville State. Oh wait a minute I forgot that DI-AA football and the Great West were a joke. My bad...
  10. Now I'm confused. IMO, it will always be UND, not UND. I am a BISON, born and raised, so the sioux will always be 2nd best. Great job on the hockey finals and I root for you to continue to make North Dakota proud in that respect. I hope your future president and Buning will take the plunge into DI.
  11. I know nothing about Kupchella except for the few media scraps I've seen but, IMO, his infamous letter to alumi re: UND/DI did not serve him or UND well and was not received well by those outside the UND community. I understand his passion but I expected a man of his caliber/position to be smarter than that. With the hiring of Buning and now the Kupchella situation, it appears that there is some major house-cleaning going on in GF. Is it for the better? I don't know. Is it a sign that UND is gearing up for Division I? I do not know that, either. I've experienced the initial taunting/wailing by UND people about SU's move and now that we seem to making progress (besides conference affiliation, of course) it now seems that some of the UND folk are either warming up to the idea or they just can't stand the perception of playing "2nd fiddle", so to speak. Either way, SU is forging on and we will be successful. Team Makers, donations, etc are at record levels and current projections are exceeding initial expectations. This is a good time for NDSU and a time for UND to seriously evaluate itself. This is not meant as a jab @UND, just my own personal perception. If you want to jab, meet me on the smack board at bisonville.com. Gooday. GO BISON!!!
  12. I originally recommended that you guys get a smack board because I thought it might clear up a lot of "garbage" posts and make the administrators' job(s) a little easier. Honestly, 90% of the posting by bison fans here and also by sioux fans over on the bisonville site ARE smack. Also, maybe a smack board would lend a sense of humor--something that is very lacking--to this site. I've probably just opened myself up to a whole new tirade of insults from the sioux fans here but that's fine with me. A smack forum is actually pretty fun if you guys would lighten up a bit and give it a try.
  13. I'm not quite sure what WYOBISON is alluding to with the "trickle down effect" for the NCC. Maybe he can educate me/this board on that later. However, scholarships in DII will inevitably be reduced to the point where it IS no longer advantageous for UND to stay at that level. Time will tell but if you look at some of the new DII teams showing up on area schedules you can see it happening already. Teams like Upper Iowa, etc, obviously won't be able to consistently compete with the likes of UND, usd, mankato (and whoever else in the NCC schedules them) and I highly doubt these schools have the resources to ramp their programs up to where they'll need to be. Therefore, their only option is to try to "level the playing field"--i.e. get schollies lowered (once again). It's already happened/happening and in a few yrs UND will see this and make their decision, one way the other. Fortunately for NDSU, we recognized this and no matter what the naysayers want to believe, we are getting out of DII just in time. Yeah, we'll take our lumps for a couple years, but in the long haul things will only get better for us.
  14. We are now bigger than you. Deal with it or sign the contract.
  15. Take your pick..... GO BISON!!!
  16. The weasel never strays too far away from the lair, that's why. Hail The BISON, Hail THE BISON!!
  17. Why don't you guys get with the times and get a Smack Board? Bisonville.com has one, eGriz.com has one, I-AA.org has one. Instead of locking topics or outright banning people why don't you get a sense of humor and man up for a Smack Board GO BISON!!! siouxwho?

Unfortunately, Bob "We Just Didn't Get It Done Today" Babich was too busy trying to be the Offensive Coordinator
