Not a good past week or so for Oklahoma. Maybe their performance against LSU hastened his decision.
Possible, but at the same time Oklahoma is still one of the top places for a QB recruit. They've produced two of the last three Heisman winners and had the runner up this year. Despite the faceplant in the playoffs, it really is an appealing place for top end offensive players.

Looking at those highlight, what atrocious defense by Nebraska, so many drives almost uncontested. With that said, UND players took full advantage and showed no hesitation. Fantastic game and that last shot was guarded about as well as you possibly can without risking a foul. Great way to close out the game and get the win against the P5.
PS: that Nebraska "color" guy was just atrociously boring.

True. And yet we beat one of them and handed another one a victory at their place, losing by a gift FG.
So think what we could do if our lines were physically comparable or better.

I don’t care how much they weigh as long as the play improves. It equally does no good having a 320 lb lineman with belly hanging over pants. We need to start getting the o linemen to develop into a leaner 290-305. Some of the guys will be there next year.
I think this was the concept behind the "drop weight" was to have them quicker but still strong. Unfortunately they didn't have the strength to overcome the lack of mass, weren't able to push anyone. That falls on the S&C department, need the lines on both sides to be much stronger.

And we will have 3.
Schuster got some live action experience in something more than mop up duty so that has to help and Vaughn definitely has the physical tools to succeed right away. Hopefully we can get some reliable play from at least one of them, maybe a committee approach like some do.

Easier to shoot without a hand in your face.
There's also a confidence in your shot when you know you're better than the guy guarding you.

Going by the angle I can see from the feed, there's no way in hell that was a forward pass and the refs completely blew the call.

Anyone else find it kind of annoying there's only a single regional west of PA?

Could anyone tell me why we still seem to under utilize the TE position? We seemed to throw to them a bit more this year with Rudy gone, but still not as much as we could have. I would have those they would mix those big guys in more often, especially in like 3rd and short situations.
Do the coaches just not like those types of plays?
Do our TEs have issues catching the ball?
Was our OL just requiring the blocking help?
Just curious for some input. If I recall Riviere was a pretty nice get when he committed, can he become another receiving threat?
For the TE's you also have to look at the QB. TE can be an eligible route but it requires the QB to actually look at them.

I can understand the thinking of wanting to have a slim, fast line but in order for that to work they need to be strong as hell and able to use angles/positioning/technique to gain leverage that they lose along with the mass. That obviously did not happen and so the end result was just an undersized offensive line unable to get a push.

I thought WMU was supposed to be a physical team. Right now they look softer than the gophers.

UND isn't playing well but holy hell, if a UND player coughs on a bronco they'll get a penalty at this point.
-
Are these refs trying to give the game to WMU?

That had to be the weakest call I've ever seen. Are you kidding me? The guy gets a little contact, falls down and the refs call it?

I might be misinterpreting, but it appears Noah Grover is leaving the team.
Lost his position battle to a freshman, can't blame him for leaving.

I think it can be agreed upon that the S&C staff needs to be evaluated, not just for football either. I recall quite a few years of the men's basketball team seeing almost no gains in the 4 years players were on the team. The only team that I see really competing in the strength/speed category has been hockey which has it's own separate S&C program.

Hard to get up after completely embarrassing an opponent the night before but a sweep in Minnesota is always a good thing.

Gophers are definitely taking a few liberties with the hitting. That last hit on kierstad was launching and hit to the head. Earlier they let a slew foot go uncalled
Yeah, I was noticing that too. Minn is getting away with some really aggressive, questionable hits. Sliding in at the knees to take a player out, high hits in the corner that shook up Kierstad. They've gone past being physical and are in the realm of dirty.

That is incredibly weak... holy crap

Good thing to know that even when Scheel isn't on his game we can still hang 9 on the gophers.

There's absolutely no disputing that outside of one or two D players.
