  1. Big weekend. I got to see the Fighting Sioux play last weekend in Duluth last weekend on an R&R home. The boys played pretty well with the exception of the 3rd period of Saturday's game. There are some hardworking guys on the team. Turn it around this weekend and stick it to those BADgers. Got to hit they hey after a long trip back to Iraq. GO SIOUX ! !
  2. Bedtime in Iraq. Ugly, illegal hit on Chay last night, but keep the eye on the prize. Two more points is the best revenge. GO SIOUX.
  3. Bob in WI Good job on the photos. I am printing them up as the season goes along and putting them on my door of my office in Iraq. Many locals are learning to say GO SIOUX. Houghton is usually a fun road trip for my wife and I from MKE and I really missed it this year. I did hear the Copper Country (county?) song in the background as Hennesy was talking this weekend via internet radio. Thanks for posting them. I hope to make next years series if there is one. We hope to be in Duluth during my R&R for that series. You folks lucky enough to make it to away games, please post some photos, it is really appreciated. Good to hear the Sioux players continue to represent well as they usually do. Get Hextall better and back out there, the guy is like a more talented Archibald.
  4. I thought Karma last skated for the Saskatchewan Pats? No eligiblity left ! Skating hard, scoring goals, finishing checks & keeping the opponent's puck out of your net wins championships.
  5. Those gentlemen are the cream of the crop in college hockey officiating. Let's hope Sioux nation feels the same way on Sunday morning. Go Sioux, oh it is only Tuesday.
  6. Since I am a master of the obvious, it is all about the Benjamins. Less travel for them, more $ in the end. I hope our guys are planning for this possibliity. BTN is also big $ for them. Maybe UND fits into a new Big Ten? Penn State vs. our Fighting Sioux at the Alerus?
  7. This story was in the Madison newspaper. There has been talk forever of a Big Ten Ice Hockey conference, but it sounds like they met and really talked about it. http://host.madison.com/sports/college/hoc...11b3606084.html
  8. Rylan Kaip got a SHG for the Chicago Wolves in their opening home loss to the Milwaukee Admirals. Andrew Kozek also played for the Wolves. The kid is a sniper. http://www.chicagowolves.com/news/features...?article_id=986
  9. Loads of folks seem to know the facts without knowing the facts. I'm a long time prosecutor and would love to read the police reports. Cops sometimes get carried away over pretty minor incidents. Intent is a primary factor in any criminal case and from the Herald article it is hard to figure how the cops would prove that Frattin knew he was 'fleeing' from them and how Finley knew the card he gave the 'U' cop did not contain his name, unless he verbalized the same name. Messing up a GF city street at 3 a.m. is worthy of a city ticket for disorderly conduct and make them do some community service, like cleaning up some streets. If Coach Hakstol took the disciplinary action indicated in the above posts, it seems to be jumping the gun until the system works. That is, unless Mssr. Frattin was already on double secret probation for something else. I guess the 'U' cops are real cops now unlike when I was in school. Relax everybody, even some of my law school classmates spent a night in jail in GF and they are now respected members of the bar. Much ado about not much. Recall the presumption of innocence. Somebody else compared the Bison weed dealer to Frattin and Finley. If I could spell my snort of laughter I would spell it out. Hire some good lawyers boys, who can talk sense into the GF County State's Attorney's Office.
  10. No problem. I know if I was a defenseman, I would hate to see Joe Finley coming in on the forecheck. He was not shy about dishing out the hits. Still working on my photos.
  11. They had two wingers injured so Joe stepped up. He did some good forechecking. I would post a photo but am having trouble and I know people have explained how to do it before, but I can't find anything. Any help?
  12. I swung by the Cap's Development Camp today as I am in DC for some training before I go to Iraq. Joe Finley played left wing all game. He got a couple of licks in and said he almost potted one. I must have been wandering around for that one. Other folks were commenting after about what a nice kid he is. He took time after the game for the fans and interviews. Joe is definitely a great representative of our university.
  13. LEaving for DC shortly. Which underdog gets to play BU? I guess we have to root for the beavers. Wish the Fighting SIoux were in their 5th straight FF. NExt year in FOrd Field.
  14. Thanks for playing Fighting Sioux Hockey Joe. I always felt bad when those midgets ran into your elbows and fell down. Have fun in the next level.
  15. Wow, that sucked. Thanks to ALL the men who played their last game for the Fighting Sioux Hockey Team. You guys made it an incredible four years, or three, or whatever. Not our day today from the little more that half of the game that I was able to see in WI. Melrose saying remember that open net on Duncan, made me mad. #2 is not the reason we lost, nor #5 being out of position, nor any one play or player. Thanks again for being the quality people that you all are, I will miss seeing you in D.C.
  16. Cup, sorry, but I agree with the way the NHL teams do it. Just skate around it, that is not the important hardware. The one we want is made of wood with NCAA on it. SOunds like we have to tighten it up for next Friday boyz. Go SIOUX ! ! !
  17. The old cliche that the game was closer than the score indicated seems appropriate tonight. We were at both nights games. Loads of Sioux pucks in the BADger crease did not lead to enough goals for the good guys. Suck it up and beat Tech in two and lets move on from tonight's debacle. GO SIOUX ! ! !
  18. It looked like Joe Finley got a little dinged up in the 3rd period and was a bit gimpy for the rest of the game although he was out there. Kozek also was slow to get up when he ran into the net. Maybe they will sit for tonight's game. Rainy now here in WI. Everybody drive safely.
  19. A little cheesy but I can't resist. Gas to Madison $22.17 Tickets to BADger-Fighting Sioux Men's Ice Hockey Game (Free soda & hot dog though) $48.00 Being at the Kohl Center when your Fighting Sioux win the 2009 MacNaughton Cup Priceless Take care of business.
  20. PK will have to play tough as the BADgers don't dive as much as the Robbie Earl era BADgers, they can still flop to the ice when they feel an opponent's breath. Any pre-game gatherings? Nice day in Cheeseland this morning, but it is supposed to rain tomorrow. GO SIOUX ! ! !
  21. DU 5 - BADgers 0 13 minutes to go in game.
  22. DU 3 - BADgers 0 at the end of the first. BADgers not even in the game.
  23. Thanks.
  24. SCORE & TIME PLEASE?
  25. BADgers lose to UMD and Coach Sandelin. 1-0 GO SIOUX
