What is the most teams to have gotten into the playoffs from The Valley? Now, lets assume UND wins out, as that is the only scenario that really matters for the purposes of talking UND playoffs.
NDSU - likely Valley Champs with Autobid ... puke
MO St. - (7-4) at worst: IN
SDSU - (7-4) at worst: IN
SIU - likely IN, but if they blow the next two games (Indiana St and Youngstown) they're at 6-5 (Wins the head to head against UND)
USD - I'm going to assume they lose to SDSU and at NDSU ... Also 6-5. (Wins the head to head against UND)
UNI - Lets say they lose to MO St. and win against W. Illinois .... 6-5 (Wins against Sacramento, SDSU, SIU, and "quality loss" to Iowa State)
UND - Have to win out .... 6-5 (Only good win would be against SDSU) a hand full of plays and this team could be 9-2 or even 10-1 with another banner. That is a lot of would of, should of, could of moments to get there. Some is player execution, too much was awful coaching decisions. Regardless, this team definitely underperformed for their potential, and they miss the playoffs because of it.
Illinois St - Loss to UND puts them at 6 losses - OUT
Indiana St - Loss to SIU this weekend puts this at 6 losses - OUT
W. Illinois - OUT
Youngstown - OUT
I'll pick 5 Valley teams to make the playoffs. NDSU (10-1), MO St. (8-3), SIU (8-3), SDSU (8-3), UNI (6-5). Plenty of potential for UNI to secure a 7th win and guarantee their playoff spot.

Now I don’t hate on Tommy like some people. He’s decent, efficient, etc.
BUT remember when we “stole” him away from Grand Valley .... and everyone said he be at Michigan State if he was a few inches taller. I don’t think that would be the case.

We won't get in at 6-5, but even if that were possible it would require 3 straight blowouts. Might as well start building some momentum into next year. Couldn't be more disappointed with how this season went given the success in the Spring, and the potential for this year. We are a handful of plays from having a very different record.

Hoping the loss last week lit a fire under some of these guys. Hope the coaches got the boys refocused. If they don't come out hot from the drop of the puck I'll be very disappointed.

I say USU because of their WR speed and NDSU because I believe their staff went hyper-conservative on offense when they saw their defense had control of the game (see: ten points) and didn't want or need to put much on film for their future opponents. Then again, a Saban staff might have found a way to grab one of those two games.
Even Bubba could have snatched the NDSU victory if he wasn't so stupid. Handing one of the best teams in the country 3 points in a tightly contested game that you are winning isn't going to work in your favor too often.

I'm indifferent on Driscoll. He has also made some stellar saves. This game would have been way worse and early without him. To me, its more on the D and stupid penalties. We can't seem to clear the zone, and we play shorthanded way to often.
Altogether, these losses aren't on any one person, there is plenty of blame to go around on this team.

He's not wrong though. This is one of the most elite programs in the country, with the best facilities. These guys are given everything to succeed. Playing college hockey is an opportunity, playing for UND is a major opportunity and there are some expectations that come with it.
You play a heated competitive game and lost; that happens. You come out the way this team did, look slow, look out of sync, no physical presence .... that a mental state, and that is being unprepared. It was very much the same style game we lost to Quinnipiac. We were behind the play for a large chunk of the game.
The score was lopsided and that was with Driscoll making some pretty impressive saves too. I'm not afraid to put some responsibility on the goalie, but he isn't getting much help either.
Silver lining; our PP looked pretty good.

Agreed. I think Bubba did a great job of getting UND to this point. Honestly it has been a big improvement from where we were in terms of the product on the field, the compete level, the recruiting, etc. but as you said, he's taken UND as far as he is going to.
I don't think Freund is the answer either, questionable OC at times, and not ready for a HC job. Would like to see them get someone with more intensity and less mental errors.
I don't suppose Tim Tibesar wants to move to GF? I don't know much about him, but I remember hearing a lot of good things during the last coaching hire. Any other could potential candidates out there?

RB skips a meeting and sits for a game. Not acceptable, but it happens with college kids, you move on.
RB is sick and misses a week.
RB rushes for 156 yards and 3 TD, but lets cut him because of his fumble. Excellent logic!

Bubba needs to go. He proved he was an upgrade, he also proved his ceiling. Horse$hit coach when it comes to impactful decisions.
when people complain about “hockey fans” and football not getting enough attention, this is why! The skill is out there.
If Brad Berry pulls the goalie in the 2nd period to try to score an extra goal, then I guess I’d say the same thing about them. Just stop overthinking some of these simple calls.
