  1. No, Imes was in the USHL for less than 1 year. Then I think he went to NAHL Pitt and became HC after 1 season.
  2. Didn't Imes win a championship or two coaching the Pittsburgh Forge?
  3. I guess I look at it differant. The way I see it, Johnson was already offered the job and has either accepted it, or declined. We'll know today what his decision was. If he declined, I think there will be more interviews.
  4. Pulled off of Lincolns ezboard. Would this be the same anonymous source who stated BB signed already?
  5. I'm not worried about the offense stepping up this season. Now the duties get spread a little more. Good luck Bo
  6. http://www.worldhockeyassociation.net/
  7. Is there a tentative date set for the hiring of the assistant coach?
  8. LOL I haven't since. I've got 30 years on him, but he says it's all in the wrist.
  9. So has my son. He's also whooped me 84-2 on PS2.
  10. Don't get me wrong about Johnson. I think he would make a great assistant. Now that I see the salary involved, it's not as much of a cut as I had thought. So, with that in mind. You take the high end of 53,000 (probably take 60K). Throw in some incentives like you say, it could happen. plus, it would get him back home............
  11. What are his chances of taking the pay-cut? I'll go out on a limb and say "slim"
  12. Is Zach Cohen on Central committed anywhere? I can't find him on Heisenber's.
  13. First of all. When I left the oilfields of western No Dak in the mid 80's, I knew someday I would return and spend the rest of my days in my home state. Didn't happen. Fellow Dakotians. Stay put if you can. This one regrets leaving. Now I live in central Nebraksa. The simularities between this situation and the UNL Huskers football coaching mess are pretty close. Husker football to these people is equal to the feelings I and many of you have for Sioux hockey. They bleed Red here. When coach Osborn retired to politics, there were no national search. He gave his endorsement to Solich, and that was that. Things were 'hunky-dorey'. After a few seasons and no National Championship, things started to turn for Solich. He lost half of the states boosters and fans(not me). They have an AD that is a complete idiot. To fire a coach after losing 3 games in one year? I hope Hakstol has the AD's and the fans confidence enough to withstand a bad year or two. Things should be ok the next two or three, but then we'll be getting into 'non-Blais' players. I have complete faith in DH. SHOW ME THE HARDWARE!!! ps: When Osborn was hired, many were calling for his head also. He didn't work out too bad after the storm settled.
  14. Watford City After that there is quite a large drop off.
  15. If Mario comes to Tri City (Ne) this year, I'll get to see him play maybe 30-40 games. That is, if he doesn't split the season between here and GF. Either way, I'll try and keep some updates going.
  16. Thank you. I'm doing the best I can. Good luck to all coaches and "The Program" I have a good feeling about this move.
  17. I'm not 100% sure, but think you have to be 16 by Dec 31 of the year you're playing. So a kid could actually be 15 when they come into the league.
  18. The Tri City Storm have cut their roster from 30 to 24. It has to be at 23 by July 1st. Both Mario and PJ are listed. Protected List
  19. I sit center ice above the glass at our local hockey arena so I have no complaint here. Still, I think this is going to be the norm everywhere soon. I can't also help but think of what the future will bring. Netting all the way around? 20-30 foot protective glass? I wonder what the "railbirds" thought when they first installed glass around the rink? Probably the same arguments back then as now.
  20. Even that's debatable. What a freak-boy.
  21. Chance at head coach.... Hakstol 40% Sandelin 40% Johnson 20% Sound about right?
  22. Thanks Coach You've given us fans a hell of a ride. When I first met you, (24 years ago) I knew then you were a unique, gifted, all around funny dude. Good luck Dean. Let the "Big Show" see what you're made of.
  23. The link below is not really following a recruit, but Spirkos game worn jersey is selling on Ebay. It just topped the 500.00 mark. 1 day, 18 hours at the time of this post. Happy bidding..... Spirko jersey The rest of the team
  24. I take it you mean Ryan Dingle? (we have a John Dingle too) Ringle (Denver) is just flat out fast. No question. Fast skater we have. Thomas (UNO) is a total package. (i wish he were in green next year) Spirkos puck handling, vision, and skating are some of the best I've seen. Eyes in the back of his head. I'm definately no scout, but he's just amazing to watch. If they gave out 3rd assists, he'd be 90 points this year. This is his first year of American hockey so I believe he'll only adjust to the better. Teams are scared of his offessive skills and usually ride him pretty hard. That's where his size hinders him. If he were 6ft+, he'd have NHL written all over him. I did not see the game last night in Waterloo, but listened to it on the radio. It sounded like he could have scored 3 in the 1st period. I think he piped one. Had a couple of other good chances too. He likes the big ice where he has more range. Waterloo has the only Olympic ice in the USHL. Kevin Regan, Loo goalie, has played unbelievable this series. The Storm have had great goaltending all year, but have buckled under the Loo offense. Their powerplay just kills us also. It's going to be a great game tonight Sioux fans. 7:05 Wednesday. You can listen HERE if you'd like to cure a hockey fix.
