  1. Wishing Zach a speedy recovery. A strain of the ACL shouldn't be too bad, as long as there was no damage or partial tearing he should be OK. On another note: Lessard= WCHA Offensive Player of the Week!!
  2. UMD 14th...GO DOGS!! I was in Connecticut over the weekend so I didn't see or hear any hockey action. Sounded like the Dogs vs. BC game was pretty hot!! If only we could have beaten Michigan State, we'd probably have moved up even more...maybe as high as 12th. Oh well...we played some tough games, all against top 11 (at the time) opponents. Think the Gophs should be lower as well. They lost to #13 Maine, and beat UNO (after finally waking up in the 2nd), a team who has not even received votes! While the Sioux have only played one game, beating #15 UMD 3-2 at REA, I think the Gophers should be ranked lower than UND as UND has defeated a top 15 team.
  3. I think the Bulldogs proved that having a bad first half CAN hurt you, so I have no idea what you are saying. Losing early in the season counts the same as a loss at the end of the season. Gone are the days when being hot down the stretch gets you more consideration. Bulldogs won 12 of 16 to finish the season last year and got shafted due to that rule change. Gophs could be in the same danger if they lose a few more games to weaker opponents. I think you may mean that the first week or two may hold little meaning.
  4. UMD had an OK weekend. They tied BC who was ranked #2 in the country, and folllowed with a close 5-4 loss to Michigan State ranked #11. Although the Bulldogs have not won a game yet, they have played very well. Sounds like the Sioux polished off Concordia with ease! We'll see next weekend if they can take BC, who won the tournament with a 4-1 win over Findlay. Should be a great game...wish dataflix was showing that one for free!
  5. Send it to UAA...they need something to get excited about up there!
  6. Also...I just noticed I cracked the top 50 posters on the site...hooray for me!! or not!
  7. Sounds like a reasonable explaination to me. It certainly didn't look like the lack of practice time hurt them any on the ice Saturday. Some were saying that T. J. Caig didn't look like he was in very good shape, as he was a non-factor in the game. Possibly more a result of his off-season conditioning rather than inadequate practice time.
  8. I don't think Prpich has to sit out vs. Concordia (again I appear to be a bit shady on the rules regarding exibition games), just think people are saying 2 games because he may be scratched vs. Concordia so Blais can play some of his younger talent. The rule is now 1st fight, 1 game DQ...2nd fight, 2 game DQ, and so on...number of fights is directly proportional to number of game DQ's recieved.
  9. Curious that the Dogs started practice on Sept. 26, only a week before the contest with the Sioux. I wonder what the reasoning behind that was...

I think players can sign with a school as soon as they are ready (probably with a parents permission), but schools cannot contact players under a certain age...16? I'm not exactly sure what the recruiting rules are, but I'm sure that in the Mueller case, it was he who contacted the school, and not the other way around.

Nobody deserves to get dragged around by the neck by a tiger! (Craig Dahl?)
  12. Yeah...the competition in the WCHA is fierce enough to mould some fine young players. Sure, they'd get more playing time in Jr's, but education is important too!
  13. This is my problem with Woog as well. Maybe he doesn't do this quite so much anymore, but when the Gophers get called for somthing minor it's like "I can't believe he called that!" and when the opposition did it's "The ref did a nice job catching that one!"
  14. I'm not sure when I'll be making the trip up there this year, but it will probably be for a conference weekend. Sorry I couldn't help ya out.
  15. I've never heard those huys, so I can only imagine what they're like. They're from Wisco though, so I make a guess as to what that would be like based on what som of those fans are like...
  16. "Lose Yourself"--Eminem I downloaded it to play before my sailing races to pump me up. That is a great song!
  17. I listened to Game 3 of the Sioux/Denver series last playoff year, and I thoght the Eminem song was a great choice to pump up the crowd. I don't know what song they used this year, but it didn't sound like it made a very big impression.

Yeah, I have Acrobat. It worked this time!! I think it would have worked last time as well if I had waited long enough...it took a really long time to load.

The link didn't quite work, but I'll take your word for it! That's good to know. So both suspended players will sit out against BC.
  20. Plus I haven't heard a broadcast in a while...maybe he has toned it down a little.
  21. I always smoke crack before games! I guess they're both pretty biased...
  22. Does Wooger still do the color commentary for Gopher games? That guy is impossible to take seriously, and spends the whole game kissing Gopher A**! Watched a Gopher vs. UMD game one year, and nearly threw up at some of the outrageously biased things he was saying. Mozocco needs to shorten his leash considerably if he wasts anyone other than the Maroon and Gold bleeders to listen to anything Woog has to say. He MAY know some things about hockey, but he makes a horrible broadcaster.
  23. POI...isn't that sone kind of jellied fish that they eat in Hawaii?
  24. The Latvian National Team is playing Wisconsin and UMD. Games are December 14 and 15.
  25. Sounds like he dissed UMD much more than the Sioux. I think the Dogs are better than both teams from CO. CC lost too many scorers this off-season to finish in the top 3. What is he thinking?? And when Denver is pressured (to quote the Simpsons) they fold faster than Superman on laundry day. Just look at where they ended up last season (7th in WCHA) after being the pre-season favroite. Like you guys have been saying...you have to consider the source. I think UND has a nicely balanced NC schedule, as does UMD.
