M Gophers stink.

I was sent this by a big mover and shaker. It is hilarious on several levels. Whoever put this together has the gift of being able to poke fun at ourselves, and to never take anything, but for a few important things, that seriously. Sorry if it has already been posted elsewhere. Kudos again to the folks who put it together. Enjoy. We Still Have Hockey

Well this sucks. Good thing we put the new rubber on the roadster. Neither snow, nor rain, nor sleet, nor darkness of night, nor the Rosebud Reservation shall stop us from our destination . . . . Denver. Noon tomorrow. Everyone, keep the fingers crossed, the hands folded if that is your ilk, and your eyes to the Sky for all driving to Denver today, tonight, and tomorrow.

My people on the ground in Denver report that it remains a seller's market, with many locals caught up in the excitement of the event, the sport, and the games. This can, and should, change come Thursday a bit but those who are planning to buy at far below face in front of the arena may be in for a bit of a surprise. Time will tell. The bigger news is the sidewinder coming out of the west that is going to jam our roads through the night with rain, sleet, and snow. Maybe.

As we all wait patiently for the games to begin, a finer story on history, tradition, and commitment could not be presented. While it well epitomizes what makes Fighting Sioux hockey great, more importantly, it captures what makes pride of family, culture, and lineage great. These days, too many folks are too quick to look at what is going wrong in this world. Here is one story, among many that are out there, as to what is going right in this world. History teaches us that we cannot possibly know where it is that we are going unless and until we know where we have been. T.J. Oshie well knows both where he has been, and to where he is going. A great story. Thanks a million for three great seasons Keeway Gaaboo. As equally important, thanks to all of the fine lads who will be lacing them up and pulling on the jersey this Thursday and Saturday in Denver. The coaches and reserves too. It has been a great season. The season is about to get a whole lot better. Keeway Gaaboo has come home. With his teammates working alongside him, they will be bringing home the hardware. They have already brought home to us the things that matter most . . . History. Commitment. Pride. Tradition. It is a culture and family thing. For many of us, that family and culture is that of North Dakota Fighting Sioux Hockey. Miigwetch Niigee Keeway Gaaboo and family.

Damned straight 808287. Great seeing you in Madison. We were knawing nails, albeit with supreme confidence, on Sunday (just about a week ago right now) so we did not stray far from our seats between periods. Absolutely flew home, high from the taste of victory over the Red Menace. Next Sunday's trip home for all will be doubly sweet.

The Siouxman knows what he is talking about. I might flip the public number with the Sioux number. There will be a drove of folks from Notre Dame. Many without a clue as to how the game is played, but they will be there cheering the Golden Domers. At least on Thursday. If they beat Michigan, the Catholics will be swarming into Denver on Saturday. Just like Sioux fans will be. It is going to be a mob scene and a mad house.

I hope to be gracing the arm of 7>4 all weekend. At various times, we will be upstairs, on the glass, in the club section, in section 118, having beers by our car in the parking lot, and hanging in the suites. Kissing babies. Pressing flesh. Maybe even shaking some hands. Cheering the Sioux on to Crown Number Eight.

Frozen Four Leaker Sale
NorthDakotaHockey replied to NorthDakotaHockey's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
These seats are back on the market. $325 for the pair. These seats may end up proving to be much more difficult to score at a reasoned price than some people think. Only one ticket gets folks through the door for both games on Thursday. Sioux and Michigan both travel well, and have a raft of alumni in Colorado. Notre Dame will bring swarms of faithful to watch its only Frozen Four appearance. Ever. Get in line if Yttrium decides not to buy. Yttrium? -

Need A Ride To Denver .. Looking For (2) More In Carpool
NorthDakotaHockey replied to Yttrium's topic in Men's Hockey
That's cool. I was afraid that that louffa brush bath that I gave you in January had you feeling a bit awkward. I think that we ran into the same hobo. Only difference is might be that he complimented me for my manliness, not my beauty. Have a safe and fun road trip to, and through, Denver. All aboard for No. 8!! -
Two tickets. 336, Row 8. At least so I recall at best. $325. I pay 2-day shipping, or overnight if you want to pay an extra $10. Once you receive them, you send me a check for the tickets. You not follow through? Not possible. You are a Sioux fan. PM me with your name and phone number.

Ridin' the "Stacsh" to Denver T-Shirts
NorthDakotaHockey replied to remington_270's topic in Men's Hockey
Three dollars. Actually, I think that the Moon shirts may have North Dakota Sioux without the "Fighting" reference. -
'Tis true. The Big Red are coming to The Ralph over Thanksgiving. The Sioux are also going out to Harvard for a two game series between Christmas and New Years. The Great Lakes Invitational, and The Icebreaker in Boston, are also on the schedule.

You forgot your promise to give your updated odds of going to The Can with each post . . . .

I agree with folks saying that there will be plenty of tickets on the street. However, I also think that the crunch will be a little tighter this year than normal. It is in Colorado, a vacation destination itself rather than St. Louis, Columbus, or Milwaukee. More importantly, perhaps, everyone wants to move to Colorado. The state is no doubt jammed with transplants from Michigan, North Dakota, and even Massachusetts. Notre Dame has an alumni legion all of its own. It will be interesting to see how many of them, many monied up, turn up and out. After all, it may be Notre Dame's only trip to the Frozen Four for the next thirty years. Michigan, as I understand, travels fairly well. There will be tickets. I am just not so sure that they will be as free flowing and available under cost as some folks think. With only one ticket for admission to the Thursday games, that one may be particularly tight. The Saturday action should open up a bit with folks stepping off the ride after the semi-finals. Here is saying that Sioux fans will be coming to, be in, and around, Denver all weekend, all the way through picking up the trophy Sunday night.

Tickets available Frozen Four
NorthDakotaHockey replied to NoSiouxp4U's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
It could also be logistics and ease of exchange. If tickets are in Michigan, and if an early buyer happens to live just across town in Michigan, why not sell to someone who will drive to your door tonight with cash and no hassle or risk? No waiting on checks. No cashing checks. No trips to the post office. No worry about tickets getting lost. There are many reasons why first in line is not always first in right. It is generally the fair thing to do, all else being equal. Sadly, things are not always equal. Also, if some says PM me, or call me, do what they ask, not something different, expecting them to reach out. Also, they may not bother to check back to a board. It's a tough grab right now, but things will free up for folks. Do not be disheartened. After all, it is the Sioux, and it is a magical season. All who travel will get in. There could be a million Sioux fans descend on The Can and somehow, magically, all who come will get in. -
Frozen Four Ticket Scam on Craigslist/Ebay
NorthDakotaHockey replied to UND83's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
My scam e-Bay seller was Jane Trusty. I had a ball with her jacking her around. Kept telling her to send tickets, and I would send cash, with a big tip. Scary thing is, when I asked her to send me a .pdf of tickets, she did send a photo of tickets. Anyway, her claim that her PayPal account was shut down for nine days was a dead giveaway. That, and the fact that my "official" e-Bay Notification of Purchase, although on an e-Bay banner, looked like it was written by a fourth grader. I think that they use the reference to a Pay Agent in the U.K., and insist on the use of Western Union, to maybe avoid potential mail fraud charges. Who knows. -

Need 4, 6, or 8 Frozen 4 tickets
NorthDakotaHockey replied to TMK's topic in Tickets wanted / for sale
Try this link . . . . Colorado Springs Craigslist There is a scammer on Craigslist out of Denver. Do not buy from anyone expecting you to handle transaction through e-Bay with payment going to Western Union, and a "Payment Agent" in the United Kingdom. Colorado Springs and Denver Craigslists will be a good potential source for folks still looking. Good luck. -
Low number of UW fans in Madison.
NorthDakotaHockey replied to Let'sGoHawks!'s topic in Men's Hockey
We were thinking the same thing. They get big crowds all year long, and then have a measly showing at the Regional!! What's with that? The same thing happened a few years ago at The John when the Gophers hosted a regional. A great day weather-wise, and the Gophers were playing to go to the Frozen Four. You couldn't give tickets away on the street. It was the year, as I recall, that Cornell, Maine, and maybe Ohio State were in the West. Go Sioux too!! We have the best fans in the world, and that was proven again throughout Madison, in The Kohl, and in sportsbars everywhere, from Australia to The Netherlands, from Anchorage to Brazil, from Timbuktu to Tibet, all across America, and especially in Grand Forks and in the heart of so-called Gold Country. -
Wow. Was that fun. Sure made the drive home a breeze, at least during those times when I was awake. This team, and its fans, never doubted themselves and the boys. Wisconsin's second goal was a fluke. Lammy was rock solid all game long. Between the second and the third, there were more than one of us who gave assurances to those few with long faces that there were still at least twenty minutes to play, that an early third period goal would be followed by a second, and that the Sioux would win in OT. A real nailbiter. We were in a sea of red and had an absolute blast. We had a particularly fun time about giving the guy leading the crowd in chants about conducting reading lessons for the faithful as he flashed his "LET'S GO RED" signs to opposite ends of the arena. The Drive to Denver has been accomplished. Now, all that remains is the Drive Through Denver. BC. ND/Michigan winner. Number Eight. Many have long said from day one. This team is special. They proved it again last night in a big, big way. Sadly, perhaps, Radke's penalties found him taking a seat most of the rest of the game as Hak changed up some lines. Assuming Trupp returns, which sounds like he will, Radke will be in street clothes in Denver. That's OK. He is still a huge part of this team, and Trupp will be well needed back in the lineup. Have fun everyone. It is a great time of year to be a college hockey fan, and it is ALWAYS a great time of year to be a Fighting Sioux fan.
