G) Our goalie played like donkey dung and everyone elses is playing great. Yet we will blame Hak anyway as that is what we do best.
After 7 frozen fours, you start to wonder, right?
-
What exactly are you talking about, this team is ready. This team is controlling play. This team has looked tremendous on the power play. Tell me how Hak screws up our Hobey candidate letting in soft goals? Can't even take your seriously.
Okay, you count the F4s he's been to, compile all of the losing excuses, and let me know what you find.

Radio guys.........one excuse after another.
I love homers but come on.
Multiple Choice Post Game Excuse:
A) Hot Goalie
B) Soft Goalie
C) Puck didn't bounce our way
D) We didn't play a full 60 min
E) Give credit to Boston, they played a great game
F) All of the above

Wow, some names I haven't seen on here in the past month. How is this game on Hak? Power play had looked 100x better than it has all season. Outside of their power play goals we've controlled play, plus our Hobey candidate has had a bad night to say the least. You dumb*$$3$ putting this on Hak are ridiculous. Outside the soft goals, this team came to play.
Bottomline: This is a one and done tourney where you will face opponents for the first time all year, Hak has no clue how to get a team ready in that situation. 3, 5, or 7 Game series? We would win almost every year.
-
I love Zane but this team lived and died by him this year and those two soft goals are the difference right now.
Bingo

It seems like every year it's about "business." Screw that...I wish they'd focus on having fun.
I have no idea what Hak's problem with winning in the F4, all I know is I have a guarantee payout betting against North Dakota to lose every year.
-
Get my hopes up every year only to have them dashed/crushed. I just don't get it how they get so close more often than not to only lay an egg on the big stage.
Agreed, coaches like Jerry York seem to know how to do it.
-
The Northeast teams strike again.
-
Say what you want about Hak...but the last 2 frozen fours are all on Zane.
1 constant in all frozen fours in the Hak era: Hak. Players, opponents, and most other things have changed.

In all seriousness, major college football programs have fired head coaches because they consistently lose on the big stage (Big bowl games etc.) Why is college hockey different? Again, this is a serious question.
-
This game is identical to the meltdown against BC with JPL as the Hobey Candidate, man we are really good at blowing it on the big stage.
-
I'm so sick of hearing about Eichel every twenty seconds.
Well considering he has shown up he deserves it, we don't deserve it.Of course they are going to talk about him.
-
Woohoo, outplay the other team most of the game and still lose, gotta love one and done tourneys. Good thing NHL playoffs are coming up.
-
UND postgame-we played but we just dug ourselves too big of an early hole to get out of against a good team.
I wonder which standard explanation we'll get this time.
-
OK. That was funny! Thanks for the laugh. I will keep my other thoughts to myself. Sioux are getting beat all over the place.
Welcome to a F4 with Hak!
-
I wouldn't ask him today
I think at this rate it will take about 15 F4s for Hak to win a title.

Would just love to see one...one...ONE...Hak team do something in a F4. This is getting ridiculous.
Maybe get a new coach just for the F4?

My guess on this one is something like a 38-24 game. I don't think we traditionally really play that well in domes, and your offense should be able to score on our defense. Still trying to figure our team out, we've played 3 really good opponents so far and 2 really bad ones. Hoping this weekend will give us a somewhat better idea of where we are at this point in the season.
Unfortunately the indoor stadium may be the only thing "slowing" you guys down tomorrow.

Auburn, Alabama- 83,000 for a spring football game.....I'm pretty sure that is still more than our football's complete season attendance...even if we somehow managed (not likely right now) to sell out the Alerus

As it should be, bye bye Dave
This is the college football equivalent of going to the national semifinals/national championship game 5 times and losing all 5 times. Are we the Buffalo Bills (4 straight super bowl losses) of college hockey?
-
So which reason(if any) for losing applies this year?
1. Hot goalie
2. Got outplayed
3. Got outcoached
4. The bounces didn't go our way
5. They were the better team
6. This just wasn't our year
7. The refs were horrible

Hopefuly tonight we can manage to play offense and defense in the same game

I agree that by most accounts, it's definitely not Hak's fault tonight. But tell me this: Hakstol has nothing to do with preparing his players(Goalies too)?
That's why teams have coaches.
