I agree that by most accounts, it's definitely not Hak's fault tonight. But tell me this: Hakstol has nothing to do with preparing his players(Goalies too)?
That's why teams have coaches.
Multiple Choice Post Game Excuse:
A) Hot Goalie
B) Soft Goalie
C) Puck didn't bounce our way
D) We didn't play a full 60 min
E) Give credit to Boston, they played a great game
F) All of the above
Bottomline: This is a one and done tourney where you will face opponents for the first time all year, Hak has no clue how to get a team ready in that situation. 3, 5, or 7 Game series? We would win almost every year.
In all seriousness, major college football programs have fired head coaches because they consistently lose on the big stage (Big bowl games etc.) Why is college hockey different? Again, this is a serious question.
Auburn, Alabama- 83,000 for a spring football game.....I'm pretty sure that is still more than our football's complete season attendance...even if we somehow managed (not likely right now) to sell out the Alerus
This is the college football equivalent of going to the national semifinals/national championship game 5 times and losing all 5 times. Are we the Buffalo Bills (4 straight super bowl losses) of college hockey?
So which reason(if any) for losing applies this year?
1. Hot goalie
2. Got outplayed
3. Got outcoached
4. The bounces didn't go our way
5. They were the better team
6. This just wasn't our year
7. The refs were horrible
