Maybe the Gophers had something to do with both the 'dogs and UND's turnovers. Give the Gophers some credit. I knew if I came to your site, there would be many complaining about the reffing. That's certainly a constant. I spend far more time on the POI site after a loss and they rarely spend so much time complaining about how the refs screwed us.

Why St. Louis? Are from that area?

Siouxrock, I can honestly say I don't think there is any Gopher fan that WANTS to live in Grand Forks!! I've been there and it's a hole. So flat you can see the earth curve. GF is one of the ugliest cities I've been to. I lived in Bismarck for 2.5 years and that is a much better city than Grand Forks.

The Twin Cities is much larger the grand forks, but as mentioned there are 4 pro teams and countless college sports going on. The fan base does have their favorites and can't spend their time and money at every event. grand forks is like green bay, small market, sioux hockey and the packers are the only show around, regardless of size. Does your football team etc sellout? I bet not, Gopher basketball etc does very well. I'm so sick of hearing how Minnesota is full of fair weather fans, many other cities don't sell out every event, hell, most other cities can only support 1 or 2 pro sports.

I'm a Gopher fan and was very disappointed to see the sioux in our bracket. The sioux scare me and you and Michigan are the two teams I would least want to play.

Cripe, I didn't do any research on sioux versus UMD making the tourney. I just thought UMD is playing much better than the sioux right now and deserve a shot. I know it doesn't work that way!!! I also don't think scsu deserves to go. I'm not the one that made reference to your non-conferernce schedule so don't get on me for that. People are very touchy this evening. The cheers the Gophers do is up to them, I have never been to a sioux game but expect very obnoxious cheers coming from you. Sounds like some can't think of anything else to bitch about so they're picking on our cheers, uniforms etc. That's quite childish.

I was actually just coming back to this board to apologize for lumping all sioux fans together with the guy who started this post. I got a little hot under the collar, but know that's not an excuse. Sorry to all I offended.

Typical sioux fan that can't handle the Gophers being better this season. You are as bad as any packer fan I know, completely obnoxious. Stop whining and be glad you made the tourney, UMD should be there instead of you!

Is there big a difference between CC going out east or to MPLS? It is still a haul for their fans who would probably fly anyway!

I just started coming to this board to check it out. I can see the obvious dislike the sioux fans have for Gopher fans. A lot of comparisons have been made including goonies 7>4 thing. I'm just defending the Gophers decision to carry mostly Minnesota players and Minnesota's hockey tradition. Most college teams have many players from other states/countries, but that is what I like about Minnesota. They have been successful with mostly MN players. If it wasn't for MN hockey players, the WCHA would not be nearly as good as it is now. Many WCHA schools here have MN players, the same can't be said for ND/WI etc.

Wow, one guy from another country. You only have 4 North Dakotans on your entire team. The rest from out of state or country.

I don't know, I was watching highlights from the MN Boys High School Hockey tournement and thought I heard he played for St. Paul. I was waiting for some Sioux fan to reply.

The original post stated that the Gophers are now recruiting outside the state. I lived in Bismarck for a couple years and realize how small the population is there, but you also have to realize that there are 5 MN teams recruiting MN players and 6 if you add Grand Forks. I am proud we have won with mainly MN players. That was our choice. I have to admit you Sioux fans really seem to love your team and know them well, and as of yet, don't seem as obnoxious as packer fans. I'm sure you know that R. Englestad is from St. Paul? Why did he attend UND? What did he study there?

The reason the Gophers play M. Tech is because of their superior season record, you can't bash them for that!
