Jdub27 that has been posted before, thank you it provodes some background but doesnt really answer the question.

What amounts are in contention? percentages? Dollars?

How much money is this fight over?

That is the story I would pay to read?

If I was guessing.... it is a significant amount to make REA go on the offensive.

Although it could be a smaller amount and Kennedy is trying to take a stand on it, which would be foolish. Whichbis completely possible.

What's so frustrating about this article is the amount of conjecture required by those of us with limited knowledge of the situation.  Why can't the Herald truly research the topic, ask the hard questions and supply the answers rather than writing an incomplete piece?    You are right in asking for the local paper to do more.

Based on recent events, Engelstad has more credibility based on what is known so far.  Could always change, but she spent an awful lot of effort to make sure her experience with Dayton was heard.  Could there be dirt on her too?  Sure.  But she lives halfway across the country and wouldn't care less about UND if it hadn't been for her dad.  UND is like that distant cousin to her that she sends a monetary gift to every so often because her dad instructed her too.  She doesn't care what UND or anyone associated with it thinks of her.  My opinion is she got p*ssed off at Dayton's pompous entitled attitude and she came up to straighten him out.

Sorry I'm confused.  Who is Dayton?

I didn't go, and I wouldn't have gone given I have no interest in glam cover bands, but that seems like one of the biggest 'events' GF has seen in a while.  Anyone there that can attest?  Was it an epic scene with that many people crammed into a few blocks?  How was parking and just getting around?

I was down there and it was certainly packed.  Was quiet during the first couple acts starting at 5:00, but definitely picked up for the band before Hairball.  It was full sidewalk to sidewalk for 1 and 1/2 blocks down third.  We actually ended up watching from The Loft right next to the stage since we could open the window.  Could not hear that well, but have seen them many times and it was preferable to trying to fight that crowd.  Overall, it didn't appear that there were any issues with the crowd and I noticed there were even a couple kids (around 10) right at the front.  They didn't seem to be having any problems.  Crowd dispersed without issue in about 10 minutes.  I really appreciated the sponsors bringing an event like this to GF and hope they do it again.  It might have been preferable to use the Town Square because the crowd could have been spread out a bit move, but it was a great visual looking at the size of the crowd on Third.  That picture in the Herald from earlier in the evening doesn't do justice to what it looked like during Hairball.

Different accounting.  I believe ndsu allocates apparel sales, advertising revenue, teammakers contributions, student fees, etc. out to the various sports.  UND places most all of those revenues in an unallocated pot.  Thus the individual sports look worse at UND than ndsu.

    http://www.inforum.com/sports/4247564-all-individual-sports-ndsu-und-lose-money-annual-financial-report-indicates

This article from 4/7/2017 lists $10.4 M for non-specific athletics revenue for UND.  That means it's revenue that is not tied directly to a sport (e.g. champion's club, merchandise, tv rights).  If you offset the losses per sport with that revenue, UND athletics had a buget deficit of $1.4 M for the year.  While we would all like to see this number in the black, it certainly isn't as bad as listing all the sports and their losses.  Per the article, NDSU attributes some of their donations and merchandise sales to specific sports making them look more profitable on paper than UND's.

Watching the nightly from Fargo they covered the 29th annual POW on the Campus of NDSU. 12 Tribes 1500 attendees.

When is the last time UND has had a Pow Wow? If they have I missed it. UND was supposed to be the school with the good relationship with the natives right.

ii remember delivering pop early 70s just out of high school to the Native Building on campus. By EERC if I remember correctly. What's happened to the Natives on campus? Did they go away with the nickname? More natives at SU now than UND?  . More of Kelly's legacy? To Fargo with everything?

I'm just asking questions. What's  the truth.

By shipping out a senior-to-be star player, who also happens to be from North Dakota? I don’t think so.

I would add to that that FF is also considered a stellar person, so that wasn't the issue.

If that's how Brew "takes charge", he's an even worse leader than I thought.

This past season Brewster performance as coach was like a mailed in performance. I believe it started last year I think he lost the belief of the team at end of the season and maybe he lost belief in the team or he was thinking of moving on and it didn't happen. I look at two seasons we had injured key players in Szabla last year and after she was hurt he hardly used her like she was damaged goods and now this year we had Fallyn Freije get hurt and after she was ready used her sparingly again like she was damaged goods.  In most sports if you are started when you return healthy again you start again until you loose your job but with Brewster you have to prove your self that you can be used again. Not a good mind game with modern athletes and the way kids communicate now with social media you can get a bad reputation in very short time. But Brewster coaching this past year was not top performance saw little improvement in team development and making adjustments through the year to overcome what other teams were doing to them. Best coaching job performances this past year was when we played Northern Iowa his former school and Northern Colorado a coach he spars with every year. Otherwise it was like a person going through the motions of coaching and i did not see that fire in belly of coach when he lost that wasn't going to happen again. If I were sum it up he had look of coach that didn't totally believe in the team he had on the floor. Maybe just guess he hates coaching at level he's at he wants bigger bite of the apple meaning he wanted coach major program where he can consistently advance through NCAA tournament each year not just fighting to get one done chance or couple of games in NIT or other tournament. His ego got to where he thinks he should be at bigger time program. Maybe way out line here but there's more going on than we been told.

I think what you're saying is pretty accurate.  I've never been a fan of Brewster as a coach and I'm hoping this program has a new direction in the near future.  Basketball mediocrity at UND has been accepted for far too long.

I don't know. This is Grand Forks, and $132 for the lion's share of the arena -- with only six rows at the top of $62 -- may be a little optimistic. Especially with shows in MPLS, SF, and WPG.

Hope I'm wrong, but time will tell. I will not be surprised if there are sales promotions or gimmicks (or giveaways) come summertime.

Agree with this.  I think that's a heavy saturation in our area.  The weekend slot should help and we may get some traveling to GF if the smaller venues all sell out.

While the prices may seem high, if we want big acts to come to town, we probably have to pay the price.

Agree with this as well.  Going to see them, or any concert in the Cities or elsewhere increases costs due to travel.  I’m ok with the price points for this caliber of performer.  Presale ticket sales seem to be going well also.

I bought two tix, didn’t know you could by more since it said on their site that you could only by two tix.  Didn’t want to risk having them canceled.  Of course, maybe you purchased tix on two different credit cards.

I bought on the Spotify presale.  I think the two ticket limit was only for the fan club presale, but I could be wrong.  I guess if they cancel my order, I would have to find another option.

can you update the list with the CC funds, or give me a better explanation?

While this "article" is positive in that it calls out the financial and attendance failings of WH, it also fails to mention the Champion's Club money generated (mostly by MH).  Since UND does not account for those dollars as part of the revenues by sport, it makes all the programs look bad.  Port loves calling out other people for bending a story to fit their narrative, but has no problem doing it himself.

  12. Looks like the match will be available on the BTN app on Roku, in addition to the live stream online.  You might need to login with your cable credentials to access it.
