cue the U of M e
Exactly.

I've never heard of a college coach getting fired for a losing season - especially not this early in the season, but the fans in gooferville must be seeing RED right now (I know we would be up here).
In the goofers defense, their leading point scorer was not dressed.

Final
Nice comeback win for MSUM after they get shellacked last night.
Good for the landcows, and nice to see bucky leave a couple of points in Mankato.
-
That's because they haven't played us yet.
I completely agree. Goofers have talent, but nobody has LINES that can score like the Sioux. We have the line to cancel Rugesegger and Rhakshani, and our third and fourth lines are better than anyone else can put out on the ice. Plus, we have a TEAM.
There is no "I" in Genoway.

put another tally in the "GOT SHUTOUT" column for the goofers
Wow. Gophers with 3 goals on the year.
3 straight shutouts for DU and Chevrie...they are looking like the team to beat.
-
4-2 MTU now.
I expect they like having Gwillam back...
-
David Toews in for Mike Cichy on the fourth line and Brad Eidsness in net for Aaron Dell.
UND's lines
17 Jason Gregoire--29 Chris VandeVelde--7 Danny Kristo
19 Evan Trupp--22 Brad Malone--26 Brett Hextall
9 Mario Lamoureux--11 Darcy Zajac--27 Carter Rowney
15 Brent Davidson--18 David Toews--10 Corban Knight
24 Ben Blood--5 Chay Genoway
3 Derrick LaPoint--25 Jake Marto
2 Andrew MacWilliam--20 Joe Gleason
31 Brad Eidsness
32 Aaron Dell
What a luxury to be able to choose between Cichy and Towes, and perhaps Dell and Eidsness.

None are finals yet...
Wow...Tech with a 3-goal "outburst". They don't seem to get much more than two, most games.
Any chance DU notches a third straight shutout tonight? Some would cry goofer collapse, but as another poster indicated, no need to jump off the cliff until you get swept by Landcows or Seawolves.
-
GPL has Bariball as a "maybe" for tonight. Patterson listed as the starting pipe tender.

I am happy with the job that Lucia is doing. Here is the latest Illegal Curve Article on the Goofs.
Nice article, and fair questions. A DU sweep tonight will garner you some interesting comments, I'm sure.
-
From what I've heard, it varied from person to person. It DID NOT work for me at all. I've heard others say it works for them. It's free though, so it's worth a shot. (you need Real Player to play it). I heard they are playing it at Sensers tonight so since I'm located in th Cities, I may try that.
I also heard that those using Internet Explorer had better luck than those using other browsers.
-
Last year I thought it was crazy talk for people to say Lucia might be gone. This year I have a feeling that it might not be so crazy.
It does seem a bit early in the season to throw TDon or the whole team under the bus. Certainly the Sioux have had their share of questionable starts in recent years only to finish the season hotter than a house on fire.
However, IF their season doesn't turn around and they finish this year without home ice in the WCHA playoffs...then yeah, I could see it happening.
-
I don't know if we want to wake the slumbering giant but they have been unimpressive so far this season.
Take a look at the comment below this article titled "Excuses".

Ouch.
Wonder if Blaise will be at UNO for the whole year?
-
Denver played 1 Junior, 2 sophomores, and 3 freshmen on D last night. Donovan, one of the freshman looked very good.
Wow, I didn't realize they had 3 frosh Defense...thought they only lost a small group of Seniors. Thanks for the correction, it's good info.

Grant Potulny for head coach?
Does he have a son who can be Captain next year?
-
I still think that MN didn't challenge him very much. while some are sold on Cheverie, I am not all that impressed with him.
I agree with that assessment. Cheverie is a decent netminder, and will make some great stops on occasion, but all good netminders will do that. 'Kato, for example, is finding out now just how good Zacharius really was. DU has an experienced D-corps who plays well in front of Cheverie, and that makes his job a wee bit easier. He's getting good looks at the shots and help clearing out the rebounds...it all makes a difference.
Plus, the U of Me can't function as a unit, so it's like seeing five people each playing 1 on 5 hockey instead of 5 on 5. Lucia is going to start feeling the heat real quick if they lose again tonight. Also, if Schroeder doesn't start sniping goals soon he's going to start looking for the "Okposo option" come Christmas. And Kangas is going to tire of backstopping a team who doesn't put points on the board to help him.

YAY!!!!! Now, keep it up
That's the way to start!!!!

First sat game...this is sharp! ;-)
-
in '87 it was Who's He? He sucks...shi*...sideways! At least in the section I was in...
Hmm...back in 80 and 82 it was the rage in the section I sat in to yell "Who's She? She sucks s#!t."
Nothing about "sideways" though... ;-)

IN GRAND FORKS.
GO GOPHERS
SWEEP SWEEP SWEEP
I DO hope you brought the good cutlery? Those butter knives last year were frightfully dull.
GO SIOUX!!!!!

He's fine. Trust me.
He was sick for the exhibition but is feeling much better right now and will be starting.
He could be quite ill...perhaps a transfusion?
One big Unit of Blood, coming right up!
Ahh...just what the doctor ordered.
GO SIOUX!!!

What a huge way to start the season. Mr. Kristo and Mr. Gleason (and all other Freshmen players) will find that hits like the ones they delivered on the Merrimack players Saturday night will garner three times the cheers when laid on a goofy player next weekend. Goofer weekend is high energy, and the pride of all those banners is on the line.
Two massive WCHA points up for grabs both nights, not to mention PWR points come March.
LET'S GO SIOUX!!!

The road to the next banner starts tonight!
