  1. I can't make it to today's game, I posted my two seats for sale (just $25/seat) in the Ticket Exchange. Hopefully someone can snatch them up and use them:

Section 204, Row D, seats 20-21 (great seats, two in from the aisle on the 40 yard line, four rows up from UND sideline).

Another Grand Forks kid to keep an eye on in the coming years is Cole Spicer. He'll only be a first year bantam this year but definitely a kid to keep an eye on

Another rising 1st year bantam teams will be after in the coming years: Nick Pierre (2004, Cottage Grove/Hill-Murray).

  3. Mayweather will win in a fight that will be more entertaining than people think as Conor is one tough SOB with a decent stand-up attack. Floyd's hands are lighting-quick but light, so Conor has 36 minutes to punch away and work his way in. Problem is, Floyd is ridiculously good defensively/on the counter. Let's hope Conor calls Freddie Roach, who I'm sure would jump at the chance to train a fighter taking on Floyd. That would surely enhance his "puncher's chance" of defeating one of boxing's all-time masterful tacticians.

I saw that.  When i looked earlier this week (because of this thread) he had Nodak recruit or committed to UND.  He would have had to change that.  Schloss also tweeted something about his commitment not showing up on the NTDP page earlier today.

First time watching on Watch Big Sky this year...is it garbage for everyone else or just me?

My video is flawless, the audio is super quiet though - all my volumes are cranked to 100%. Otherwise the Big Sky feeds have been really good this season.

Another big one to keep your eyes on is Massimo Rizzo also probably a lot more guys playing Major Juniors or Minnesota Bntm's.

GF's Jackson Kunz, a 2002 drawing a lot of praise. Overall Grand Forks has some really high-ceiling players at the bantam and pee wee levels, not to mention the potential DI talent in the high school ranks (G. Johnson, Costello, Salquist). Ethan Frisch of Moorhead (soph d-man) would be a nice commit as well.

The six different shades of green instantly makes this a no-go.  This is taking a flat logo and adding 14 photoshop effects to see how much it can imitate a 7th grader playing with photoshop for the first time.

Settle down. I didn't use Photoshop - I am a complete amateur playing around with different logo concepts using software that is not at all meant for graphic design. The "six different shades of green" is beyond my control; it's a by-product of smoothing the image out so that it doesn't contain sharp edges that are a result of cutting/pasting different components of the logo. Thanks for the feedback though.

Someone with a few more seasons under their belt--

does this his seem like an abnormally good time for recruiting? Jost, Hain, tychonik, blaisdell, karki, mattson, thome, manchineel I, etc? I know the players come in at different times due to their age and demands/readiness but it seems like the pipeline is getting really rich.

    is this normal ?

All I will say is this: Since Brad Berry rejoined the staff, UND's recruiting successes have been absolutely lights out.

  9. Random thoughts regarding the topics being discussed throughout this thread:

    1) Characterizing Colton Poolman as just a "stay at home" defenseman is a bit unfair. He has an offensive flair to his game, he just doesn't have the bomb of a shot Tucker has thus his offensive numbers aren't as impressive as his older brothers. He is smaller than Tucker, who plays a ridiculously long game (long strider, long reach, etc.), but Colton knows how to move the puck/promote an up-ice game while also maintaining his defensive responsibility. He will fit right into the current d-corps, and I predict he will be an every night player next season.

    2) Much like everyone else, I would LOVE to see LaDue return for his senior season, though it seems like his signing is nothing more than an eventuality. Regardless, whenever he's on the ice he promotes a sense of calmness - his panic threshold is off the charts and he just always seems to make the right play. He's the trusted horse.

    3) If Schmaltz opts to return and the staff sees fit to insert Jost into the top line to form a Jost-Schmaltz-Boeser trio...watch out. If you think the CBS Line was fantastic, a JBS Line would be every bit as good if not better. Jost is day one elite.

    4) Luke Johnson's potential departure will have a bigger impact than most people think? He was by far our best faceoff guy, and once he started playing a disciplined game (ie, not taking bad penalties), he was much more valuable than his stat line would indicate. The Heavy Line was very hard to play against, and a lot of that started with Johnson gaining puck possession at the face off dot.

    5) Losing Stecher sucks. Personally, he was my favorite player the past two seasons, an absolute bulldog of a competitor with elite talent. The consummate Sioux hockey player. However, the return of the Ausmus and Poolman EGF duo provides next season's team with a very sturdy defensive backbone.

    6) The lose of Thompson will be offset by the playing time our freshmen Shaw and Wolanin gained this season. I actually thought Keaton might have actually regressed a bit as a junior? As far as Wolanin is concerned...he has a VERY bright future ahead of him. I would be surprised if he doesn't have a nice NHL career.

    7) Poganski will be a monster as a junior. So hard to handle down low and plays such a hard-driving, relentless game. He and Gardner are great playing together.
