I'm watching the press conferance now, kind of interesting even if it is the Badgers (http://www.uwbadgers.com/audio_video/ top clip). One reporter asked if the Gophers were approached. They conceeded that the Gophers would be a huge opponent, but that there were "scheduling conflicts"...any bets on how willing they would be to play outside in Feb in Madison? (That said, I wonder if UND was approached...)

Not sure if it's been posted anywhere...Badgers announced today outdoor hockey Feb 6 2010 at Camp Randall vs. Michigan.

I was at that game and have some pics of them skating it around from the upper bowl...one of the jumbotron too with the players on the ice sprawled out trophy in front of them, you know, the victory pose that you see a lot of teams do. That was my first year as a Sioux fan...my wife took me to my first hockey game ever at the Ralph maybe in January of that year. The Cup game was only my 2nd or third game, and I had no idea what they were skating around with at the time, I had to read about it in the Herald the next day. For all I knew they just won the Stanley Cup.

I think this will be Eids biggest mental test of the year so far, from the standpoint of playing in front of a tough road crowd. The UW student section is seated right behind him periods 1 and 3, aiming every imaginable chant at him. Hopefully he keeps them out of his head and settles in nicely Friday.

Didn't see the single, but there are tickets here, just keep watching. Also, there was a lower single available here.

I was able to find two for Sat night on craigslist...I thought I saw a single on there for Friday, I'll check and let ya know.

I would give Priceline a try. This Sheraton downtown is showing a prepaid rate of $97/night for this weekend. This is an excellent hotel near the Kohl. Priceline used to consider this a 3*, but now are showing a 3.5* rating. The Concourse downtown is also a 3.5*, and also has been won on PL. The Concourse has been won for $45. Both are great hotels. The Concourse seems pretty booked, so I'm kinda leaning that you would get the Sheraton...but who knows... So, here's what I would do: www.priceline.com enter Madison, dates. select "Name your own price" select 'Madison Downtown" and 3* Start at $45. If rejected, increase by $5 and add Madison East (sticking with 3.5*). If rejected, add 5$ and select Madison south. If rejected add Madison Southwest. If still rejected, you are out of bids for 3.5*. (you can start over in 24hours). Do not add Madison West, as they also have a 3.5* and you could end up out there. Now start completely over with a new bid...select Madison downtown, 3*, $45. this time your rebids are only Madison South and Madison Southwest. Again, if denied on rebids, try again tomorrow. It's wise to book a room (as a back up) through normal means, one you can cancel Friday if you get something on PL. Good Luck, if you have any questions I'd be happy to help.

Awesome win. I will have the GWG and senior skate posted later if someone else doesn't beat me to it. I loved seeing the senior skate to Marty's slideshow...the underclassmen on the bench watching...LaPoint watching on his crutches...couldn't have scripted it any better.

webcast is up, but no Sweeney audio, they are using the audio right from the Arena, pretty cool I think. They must be having problems. You would think they could dub in TH at least.

great idea. Last year there was a big shindig at State Street Brats put on by the alummni association for the regionals I believe.

They never sell out, so shouldn't be a problem if you are ok sitting upstairs, but let's get past the first round first .
