I see it this way...Last year, we couldn't drink beer at the games at all. This year, we can. That's better than nothing. I don't know why your friends were told what they were told, but it seems that maybe they just went to the wrong bar at the wrong time. Were they asked for IDs or anything? What were the actual circumstances in which they were told they were not allowed to drink at the games? It seems like there must be something more going on here.

I'm not sure I'm ready to believe that the lighting has much to do with anything. Lights may make a goalie lose sight of a puck that has been lofted 60 feet into the air, but they sure as #### are not going to make a bunch of pretty fast forwards and d-men slog around like a bunch of frat boys in a vodka-jello filled swimming pool. There's something quite a bit more wrong from a fundementals standpoint with the team right now. I have no doubt that there is much more to it than bright lights and flashing video screens.

Interesting article. Not sure I'd go quite as far as he did in saying that the Left wants to make the Native Americans have a low self-esteem in order tok asuage their guilty feelings for what happened in the past, but still...an interesting viewpoint.

this team needs to turn around quickly...at this moment, I have very little faith in the Sioux against almost anybody. In the past, it has always seemed that Dean could put nearly anyone out there and get an excellent performance from him. This season, even the people we're supposed to be able to depend on are playing like Pee Wees. Here's to a kick-ass second half of the season (praying under my breath).

I understand the spin control aspect of it....I guess from the outside, it doesn't look as much like effective spin control as it does plain stupidity. From where I am, attacking UND doesn't seem like a terribly useful way to draw attention away from themselves. If anything, I would think that it would draw a little more attention to their problems since somewhere along the lines, someone important is going to point out the hypocricy of the entire situation and SCSU leaders will look like complete fools. But, I'm from the old school of thought where you take care of your own problems before you get involved in a fight that has the potential to make you look like a complete idiot. Oh well...I'm just interested in seeing how this all plays out.

You have to think, though, that FSU's tribal approval in some way strengthens UND's case.

I'm not sure if the NCAA can make UND change its name and logo.

As a flower lover, I vehemently oppose New York University's nickname of the Violets...it is demeaning to flowers everywhere to have their beautiful colors and petal textures used in such an unholy situation as a sporting event.
