  1. If Lennon gets fired I'd be all for bringing him back to Grand Forks. Whether he would or not....who knows....

Lennon was behind some pretty good defensive football teams, and I have the feeling that a coach like him could turn this thing around. Yeah, the Salukis have struggled under his guidance, but I think he could reinvent himself back at UND.

That or Bubba.....I miss Bubba....

What would Lennon bring to the table? He walked into a team that holds the MVFC record for consecutive weeks ranked #1 and has turned them into a team that is close to Weber St caliber.

  2. CAN NOT WAIT FOR THIS GAME!!!!! First time, that I will get to go to football in a LONG LONG LONG LONG time. They had better play well for me ;)

As a total FB fan this is a great post, I was at every game for us thru the losing season etc... And always cheered you are a True fan

Win or lose you support the team

  3. Personally, I think Kill may be a bit overrated. For one, he didn't do anything great as a dII coach. Secondly, I believe much of the talent at SIU when he was there had been recruited by his predecessor. Ditto at NIU. I don't pretend to know why things haven't gone well for Lennon the past few years, but he didn't all of a sudden forget how to coach. Maybe it just isn't the right fit. It happens to very good coaches at all levels of football.

I agree, but pretty hard to discount what Kill did at siu, Lennon just hasn't been able to sustain, maybe another program would do him good. Valley is a power running grind it out conference, Lennon has not had luck I think he would be a great BSC coach that tends to air it out more just my opinion

  4. That's it? Some people make it seem like Lennon took the good china with him when he left.

If he did, they ain't playing so well, after Kills guys graduated they have not been good. They were a perennial top 25 team, now they look to be replacing Indiana St as the bad team. Lennon has not done well and they are calling for his head, it would not shock me to see him gone after this year if they don't stay above .500

  5. I'm not sure but I thought I seen this game as televised on DirectTV channel 239-1

I could be wrong but that's we're I watched Montana st and Montana on Saturday

  6. With UM out of the polls and UNI barely holding on...when was the last time both teams unranked?

Well UNI should not be there, but it was said last week if they go out of the Top 25 it would be the first time in 97 weeks, guess they made it to 98

They are good but not top 25 good right now, they lost some key injuries and are VERY young

Turns out this is the first week in 195 that dates back to 1998 that Montana has not been in the polls

  7. Considering that North Dakota had a good showing in a loss to an FBS team in a close game, and NDSU was idle, I am shocked that the Bison didn't didn't drop a few spots in the polls. I understand that it is the norm for pollsters to confuse the two schools.....................

    :hypocrite:

Glad your still holding on to that........

  8. I didn't say I didn't want people to reply and it was far from smack. Smack would have been UND is #4 in passing yards, NDSU is # whatever so haha. That is smack. Me just posting numbers on our offense and defense and pointing out our strengths and weakness is not smack. Not all Bison fans responded like that, Gil Dobie saw what was pointed out. Maybe the rest of the "Herd" need to take lessons from him.

Lessons from what??? Go post you crap on the Montana, app st, UNI, JMU, Montana st, Georgia southern boards and see the reaction.......you have spewed a lot of bs on CS and AGS, with little to back it up

At least NDSU has backed it up, your awesome smack is UND is #4 in passing yards...lol that's funny !@#$ right there

  9. I haven't noticed that too much. Granted, during out bad year(s), lotso' Bison fans myself included weren't too pleased with Mr. Bohl. That is unheard of now. Winning, or optomism, have a way of changing things.

Really, Saturday night there were people questioning him, and I admit Bohl was on the hot seat, but he also proved himself correct?

  10. Some really interesting comments on aztecmesa:

How Hendrickson and Hardin as well as Jackson may be the finest QB and receiver tandem SDSU will see all season,

how all three have pro potential,

how Mussman is an up and coming coach that out-coached SDSU. They wouldn't be surprised to seem him get an FBS job.

Honestly, how did Hendrickson get moved to WR three years ago? Consider what Hendrickson could have done with more years of reps.

Omg, really, lots on here were calling for Mussmans head now beings they came back on a FBS team he is the best....really?

I do agree with Hendrickson he has played awesome, can he sustain we will see

  11. Just watched some of the SDSU game highlights.....yikes.....gotta tackle fellas....wrap up.....wrap up....

Why, there is no time in the college football practice schedule to practice tackling..... Geez that a portion of the game that is natural no need to teach

  12. No it does not, I watched a reply during the NIU game when they overturned a UND TD and you could not see the ball when the ball carrier went into the line. What did they do - overturned the ruling on the field of TD.

Wow, ok it doesn't "need" to be but it's supposed to be, I remember how bad we got beat up for this same play call theory, if it was conclusive fine but obviously they coulschangeth rule

  13. http://masseyratings.com/cf/compare1aa.htm

Massey has us at #24. How accurate are these polls?

Not very accurate right now, they weigh far to much on what teams did last year, as an example GSU that made it to the Semis last year is still ahead of El Citadel who took out both ASU and GSU. They get way more accurate as the season wears on....but we at BV started our own for fun poll check it out you will see not everyone is biased by the teams that received votes

    http://www.bisonville.com/forum/showthread.php?28386-Week-3-FCS-Poll

  14. Wrong. It did last year for us with Fresno.

Well ok then, it generally doesn't affect the top ranked teams, not sure ho a loss to Fresno hurt UND last year but the 3 FBS less NDSU suffered never hurt them in the polls unless the team behind them won as an example

  15. Point is that anyone who played at a high level understands that the time is spent on the mental side of the game in practice. Not going live, not doing tackling drills, working on scheme. UND recruits players who know how to tackle. These players who are playing D this year had no problem tackling last year, God knows why they can't seem to do it this year.

Maybe the lack of practice tackling fundamentals is the cause for their lack of tackling?? If the coaches are not continually spending a little time on fundamentals that's a major coaching flaw, even the NFL does tackling and blocking drills

  16. We'll see how the two teams records shake out at the end of the year. Deal?

That's fine as of today's Sagarin rankings:

    San Diego St (70) 2-1

Wins- Army (126), North Dakota (132)

    Loses- Washington (52)

Up next- San Jose St (72)

    Colorado St (131) 1-2

    Wins- Colorado (153)

Loses- North Dakota St (60), San Jose St (72)

    Up next- Utah St (51)

Essentially both have won and lost to the teams they were supposed to on paper and I should add I'm posting this in good fun

  17. Time will tell. You sound like that tyson jorstad douche from the espn board. Next week SDSu plays San Jose State, who just rolled a bad CSU team 40 - 20. I would be willing to bet SDSU takes care of San Jose by at least 20 points. Also, CSU's only win was against a terrible CU team who just got killed by Fresno by like 50+ points. Just face it, SDSU is a legit team. Now back to the shed tool.

Twist how you want they are not legit

  18. Hung right in? They jumped them and were up 20-10 and then got outscored 38-3 in the 2nd half.....I am just questioning the hung right in statement, not arguing about how good Sam Houston St. is as I think they are again the most talented team in FCS.

Did you watch? They were 23-24 for a long time, then Bell flung a couple INT's, one that resulted in a pick 6 as the clock ticked to zero, the game was never out of reach for SHSU and stupid mental mistakes cost them, not talent or speed lack there of

  19. After the shootout, we can see that our offense outside of the running game is red hot and the defense is ice cold. Where does last nights game put us in the rankings? Do we gain or lose votes?

Neither, FBS games don't affect rankings a whole lot unless its a win, should be level

  20. If he comes out in Dec as the leader after the conference play then it can be talked about, sorry to say but your going to see tougher d as the season wears on, it's way to early for anyone to proclaim being the best.

He is a stud though no doubt, is he an Illinois kid?
