  1. Under the circumstances, this is the best decision for Greico. He is very young and needs to be playing regularly. In hindsight, he probably should have waited another year before moving to UND. As for the OHL, he can still get an education once he's done, if things don't work out hockey wise. I wouldn't be surprised if he got a pretty sweet deal to move over. It's not unheard of for these guys to get 100K to sign.
  2. Both born in 1988, Kane is about six months younger since he was born in November. The idiot Nashville announcers said that he just turned 18 this month. Zeeze they don't even know their own league rules on age eligibility for crying out loud. What a bunch of buffoons. Terry Crisp should be put in a institution.
  3. Agreed. Him and Toews are going to bring some sick talent. Next kid to get an early track on is St. Croix playing for the AAA Bantam 1 Monarchs out of Winnipeg. This is kid could be the next Jonathan Toews.
  4. There is no way MacWilliam is 6'3". Who is giving out this information? Take the younger Olsen kid if your looking for a D man. MacWilliam is not WCHA material.
  5. Ya, those really old 17 year olds like Jonny Toews. Man their getting older all the time those Canucks!
  6. Ignore MacWilliam and instead focus on his younger D partner, Dylan Olsen. While your at it make sure Joe Colborne doesn't do anything to compromise his NCAA eligibility. Please in the future stick to the two or three best players on a Tier II Junior team. MacWilliam doesn't have the foot speed to play in the WCHA.. He's probably the 5 or 6th defencemen on this team. edit: Looks like Colborne is commited to Denver. Get Olsen before he goes to the WHL.
  7. And how would that be done to make it fair? 80's guys are in their 40's or early 50's while the 90's guys are in their 30's.
  8. Well they did pick up a few great recruits, one of them was somebody I had hoped would go to UND, i.e., Wade Poplawski
  9. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but it would be no contest. The Sioux would clobber any CHL team. The WCHA is comprised of players that are just too big and too strong for these young teenagers to take on. Now if the age of college hockey were reduced by a couple of years, then yes, the CHL would probably beat most college teams. But not the Sioux or Minnesota. Both these teams tend to have several first round picks in their lineup. That is pretty hard to match even for a high end CHL team.
  10. Agreed. Its also not a problem to have all three forwards below the goal line sometimes. It really depends on how smart your guys are. If the third/high guy senses that possession can be maintained by dropping below the goal line on the weak side, opposite side of puck, then having one of the strong side guys chip it over behind the net to the weak side is a good play. Its used all the time at the pro level and I wouldn't be surprised if Oshie and Duncan also have the green light to do it. Just watch Detroit for an example.
  11. Well, those people haven't got a hot clue. UND would beat any CHL team. That is a given. Not necessarily because of overall talent but because of age and strength. I'm not sure why this question even gets asked anymore. CHL teams are comprised of 16 to 19 year olds. This year, 1988 born players are in their last year unless they play as an overage player. I think each team is allowed 2 so they may have 2 1987 born players. UND is comprised of mostly 1985 to 1987 with a few 88's. The 88's for the most part don't play. As for UND taking on an NHL team, I'm afraid the final score would be double digits at least. Sorry but Lammy would get lit up like a torch.
