  1. Since ND has a budget surplus why not make the 2 largest schools equally funded. Would it make that much of a dent in the states budget...I doubt it. Why doesn't NDSU have their alumn Al Carlson write up a bill and bring it up instead of Al getting into the middle of a already done nickname debate. IMO I think as NDSU grows basically equal to UND the funding should have grown with it and be equal to UND. As I dislike NDSU's athletic team, this has nothing to do with sports, but what is taught in the classroom.
  2. That will be our option unless the Standing Rock gets on board, and I will win the lottery before that happens. UND is out of options. The state law was a hail mary pass to save the name and the NCAA picked off that pass. Its over. I hate to say it as I love the name and logo, but reality sets in....its over.
  3. And a swift kick in the @ss!!
  4. I say 1 block FG and a block punt.
  5. The NCAA said no, what else can be said. Hello DI Independent? Or Hello NAIA?
  6. This will be the only game there is football and hockey on the same day this year. UND plays Sioux Falls the same day they play at the Gophers. Still hockey is no excuse not to show up, The football game is at 1pm. Its not like that Cal Poly game in 2009 where it was at 4pm on Halloween night.
  7. We beat Cal Poly we should go 4-0 in the GWFC. UC Davis will be a major test since we have yet to win out there. And what a boost it will be going into BSC play if we not only win the Great West but end up going 9-2.
  8. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
  9. 2009 NDSU went 3-8 but had an average crowd of 16,515. UND had an average attendance of 8539 but had a 6-5 record. I think its more quality opponents than records. UND hosted USD, Stony Brook, Sioux Falls, Cal Poly and Southern Oregon. NDSU hosted Wagner, Illinois St, UNI, Missouri State, and YSU. I cannot wait to stop playing to lower level teams and get more FCS teams.
  10. Its possible that next years Potato Bowl could see Central Arkansas or Cal Poly....its been years since we have had a good opponent in the Potato Bowl. There is no Crookston or Black Hills State anymore. Attendance may be low in 2012 for the opener against SD Mines, but then the next home game is with UCA, and there better be 12,000+ screaming in that dome.
  11. Definately fire him if we lose to Montana Western and or Sioux Falls. That is a no-brainer. Or else so far expectations have been met and exceeded from last year. We won a conference game on the road against a ranked team. That's big. A FBS win would have been nice but never expected. If we can win the GWFC, or come close then extend his Sioux life another year. The Big Sky Conference will show what a coach he is.
  12. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/2011/Internet/attendance/FCS_AVGATTENDANCE.pdf UND is averaging 8515 with only Drake and DII BHSU Last year UND had 8154 at home. http://www.ncaa.org/wps/wcm/connect/d47a560045aad7aab88ffc9080650d5b/2010_Attendance.pdf?MOD=AJPERES&CACHEID=d47a560045aad7aab88ffc9080650d5b Its a good sign with Cal Poly coming up in 2 weeks from Saturday.
  13. Just look at the Sioux stuff sold at Target. It just says UND or North Dakota with the UND logo not the Sioux logo, and it says "Go Team". Lame IMO, but it may be a beginning. Hockey is going to be the only major change in uniforms when it comes to retirement.
  14. Probably to send a message early. Too bad it didn't work.
