Was at the West Fargo @ GF Central game Tuesday night at Purpur. Final was 8-0 GFC, shots were 49-8 in favor of GFC.

Unreal talent and depth at Central this year. Big kids who can skate and make plays happen.

Berry needs to recruit these players. At least they know how to score.

7 top 5 conference finishes.. 3 championships.. NCAA D1 tournament birth(which a lot of schools have never done).. all in 13 years ...going from D2 to Great West to Big Sky now to Summit League .. I don’t know what you do, but I hope in your job the expectations rise and the resources to get the job done stay the same .. cause that’s what’s happened here .. Jones isn’t great, but he isn’t awful either.. he has weathered some storms!

He also has an overall losing record, a very very poor non-conference record. No signature wins, no tournament wins, multiple under .500 seasons. I think these are what are frustrating fans. If Berry, had this part of a resume he would be gone in a flash and not hang around for almost a decade in a half.

    Wait a second.........

I thought we were going to be flush with cash after moving to the Summit because travel expenses would be a fraction of what they were in the Big Sky and the Sioux Center was going to be filled to the rafters with Summit opponents coming to town.

    Did something change?

New coaches + winning = the Sioux Center filled to the rafters.

What world are you been living no matter what coach we have its going to be under contract and to keep or get new coach to come here requires we pay the going rate. Until this last contract we had we were basically paying less than a lot of Division I schools were paying there assistants. The fact is that hockey and football eats up huge portion of this schools athletic budgets which has shown in other sports and also is reason were down Baseball, Men's and Women's swimming, and Women's hockey and switch conferences to defray some of our travel expenses. Also the thought was when we got in the summit some old rivalries would help in attendance. So far that has not happened and will take more success from programs to get this done. What Berry and his assistants get paid in one year would fund men's basketball coaches for more than 3 years. Und needs to look at getting more fans into the seats especially from the students here.  This I believe would help improve basketball programs by attracting better players and again improve our chances of winning . At the same time they also need to get alumni and boosters involved improving facilities and other things with the program.

Winning puts butts in the seats no matter who is coaching.

Since we got rid of the Fighting Sioux name and logo, I think the odds of Jackson donating to help the basketball programs have gone up.....if we have the nerve to ask. Jackson played here and his experiences at UND helped him get to where he is today, so I would think we could convince him to give to MBB and WBB.

Convincing him may have to include a lot of $$$$.

While it is true that it is unhealthy to rely on one benefactor the rest of your statement is ridiculous.

To say nothing else matters to the Engelstad Family is probably the dumbest thing that will be posted on this website in 2019....well for the month of January anyway.

Donations to 100's of different groups, charities, causes, and organizations in the millions and millions of dollars.

And they still need that football money. :silly:

Do you really think he is going to the dance in the next two years with his current team? I was at the game in Fargo and have watched a handful of other games this year. He doesn't have the talent on his current roster to win the Summit, He may not even get his team to the tournament this year. And I am not saying NDSU is in a much better place, but they are in a little better place. NDSU doesn't lose anybody this year and UND loses 2 of their top 3 players. I would say if either team, NDSU or UND is the one team left out of the Summit tournament this year, the coach should go, whether that is Jones or Richman.

Anything can happen in the tournament, but odds are the SL rep will be one from SD.
