  1. The game was fun, although the 3 25-minute periods killed us. Too bad it got a little chippy, but thats how hockey goes sometimes.

By the way, I'm fine. I just have a nice welt, but I can still move around. Just wait until we get you Gopher fans up here in the frozen tundra, then you are going down.

  2. My name is God and I will be wearing number 11.

I hear there is light hitting allowed...sounds good to me :)

For those Sioux hockey players/cheerleaders who happen to read this by Sunday...we need to show up the dumb-ass POI guys in the stands...so lets get some backing. I mean really, think they would know what Jason Notterman and Kevin Spiewak look like? Lets sneak them on the ice after the 1st period. :D

  3. Guys...strength of schedule means absolutely nothing in this argument...Don't even try and bring it up. UND and MN played the exact same teams in the WCHA this year...your "Parise would be worse if he played for MN" crap doesn't work.

Take a look at this though...UMN finished above UND, showing that UMN had the better team during the regular season. Would it then be hard to believe that a player would do better if surrounded by better players...i.e Vanek with the Gophers? If Parise played for UMN, you could assume he would have more points, because he is playing with better teammates. Of course, I'm a Sioux fan and I say the Gophers and vanek suck and Parise should walk away with it. :D

  4. Guys, you can't forget that when a player is going to the outside with the puck, you cant push them down. Apparently checking is not allowed in hockey anymore. I wish people would notify me of these rule changes earlier.

  5. I could see that because he is from GF, he knows the status with the Sioux goaltenders. He knows that we currently have 3 fairly good (when they play their best) goalies, with 2 more recruits coming in over the next two years. Blais mentioned hes gonna have to make some hard line decisions, so it could be gettin rid of some goalies, but I think that Blais will tell Ziggy to spend some time in the USHL so he is ready for UND and if we need him throughout the school year, he can always bring him in.

  6. An article from the cities said our great Zach Parise has is friends with Crosby....and that Crosby is actually going to be graduating a year earlier than normal.

That means that he is technically a junior, which means in 2 years, if everyone sticks around, we can have Bochenski, Parise, Murray and Crosby. I'm thinking that would be a somewhat good team. :0

  7. NoDak is currently 4th in the WCHA with 28 points. Here are the standings as of Sunday 2/23.

    WCHA Overall

    Team GP W-L-T Pts.

    1 Colorado College 24 16-3-5 37

    2 MSU-Mankato 26 14-5-7 35

    3 Minnesota 24 13-6-5 31

    4 North Dakota 24 12-8-4 28

    5 Minnesota-Duluth 24 12-9-3 27

    Denver 24 11-8-5 27

    7 St. Cloud State 24 10-10-4 24

    8 Michigan Tech 24 6-15-3 15

    9 Wisconsin 24 5-15-4 14

    10 Alaska-Anchorage 26 0-20-6 6

Here are the possible finishes for UND from 2nd to 3rd and what it would take for that to happen.

2nd - UND must win remaining 4 games, get 8 points for 36 total. MSU-M must lose both games to CC. UMN can only get 4 points in their final 4 games (Denver, SCSU).

3rd - UND can either win remaining 4 games, MSU-M loses both to CC, and UMN picks up 5+ points in final 4 games.

    - Or get 4 points more in their last 4 games, than UMN gets. Possibilities for that are:

    UND 7, UMN 3

    UND 6, UMN 2

    UND 5, UMN 1

    UND 4, UMN 0.

    - However, if Denver gets 1 more point that UND does in the final 4 games, then UND drops to 4th.

There are way to many different possibilites for 4th through 7th...however just to add this:

CC wraps up 1st place if they take 2 points from MSU-M, because they lose the tie-breaker if they only get 1.

MSU-M can get 1st place by taking 3 points at CC.

UMN can get 1st by winning final 4 games, CC getting no more than 1 point from Mankato, MSU-M getting no more than 3 points from CC.

CC cannot finish worse than 2nd.

MSU-M can get anywhere from 1st to 4th.

UMN can get anywhere from 1st to 7th. (Lose final 4 games, UND gets 4 points, UMD gets 5 points, Denver gets 5 points, SCSU gets 8 points.)

UND can get anywhere from 2nd to 7th.

Basically it comes down to playing well, and getting some teams to work for them.

UND wants UMN to lose, and lose badly. They also need CC to kick MSU-M's ass hardcore. Not to mention, UND needs to kick some Duluth/Wisco ass.

I think Denver and SCSU can each take 3 from UMN, which would give UND 3rd place if they do well. Bad news for UND is, even if they sweep both Duluth/Wisco, they can still finish 4th. However, if they sweep both, they can do no worse than 4th.

Ok, i am done with my stats. Let me know if i did anything wrong.

EDIT: So i posted it in the wrong thread. :0

  9. It's not like the poll has anything to do with whom Blais actually starts.

Its not? I was under the impression that Blais checked out this forum to see exactly who to start and thats why Ranny got the start this weekend. :)

Sioux have to step it up, they have to play like a team. I thought after Friday that Spie was gonna become the natural leader and rally the troops, but no troop rallying was done on saturday. We need someone to step it up and while Parise and Bochenski are important, it has to be a senior. It has to be someone who has spent the past 4 years playing for this team and loving every minute of it. It has to be someone that the players know would give 1000 % and do everything just short of playing all 60 minutes to make sure the Sioux play well. Now who will that be?
