Ummm...really? Chappel was a D1 talent thru 2 years here and would have been something very special his final 2 years!!

Mertens had tons of talent around him last year and played the Bison out of potential playoff spot with his awful play. I like Landry alot based on the limited game time he has had. I think he'll play very well this year.

One of UND's strengths this year is it's secondary...but it won't look like it come late Sat. afternoon. 59-7 "da Raaaaiders". And for all the NDSU hacks that will be on this board ripping UND after they get throttled...not all Big 12 teams are alike! Tech isn't ISU!

Watched most of Bison game on webcast w some SU buddies. They looked pretty decent. Mertens is still...Mertens though. People forget ISU, even though they are a bad Big 12 team, is still a Big 12 team. This wasn't Wyoming, Ball St., or CMU...they had some skill and speed.

SR can nix the vote over the voice of their own people. Maybe it will happen down the road, maybe not? But I get back to the fact the reservations in this state, especially the SR res, have become an embarrassment to their own people and this state. I could list the issues on these reservations, but we all know what they are. That fact, to me, that the nickname issue is forefront amid all the other issues of the NAs and their reservations is almost laughable. It getting rid of the Sioux nickname going to lower the skyrocketing suicide rate at SR?

If that's the case, it is once again just another example of political correctness run-a-muck! Like everything in this country as of late, the "I know what's best for you", left-leaning ideology is putting a strangle hold on common sense.

When has there been any "REASONABLE" thought process in this whole nickname/logo ordeal?? The SBoHE has done nothing but pander to those who feel that the nickname/logo has to go...i.e. NCAA, the liberal pinheads at UND and a minority of NA's who are anti-nickname. I agree with everything in your post, but this issue has gone so far off track in appeasing the "squeaky wheels" that I think the outcome of removing the nickname/logo is inevitable.
