  1. how come no one has brought up the option of the drinking age being 19, which i am in favor of. I am in favor of the because this will lower the drinking age for college kids but will still not allow "most" high school kids to drink/buy alcohol. I believe this is the most reasonable option because college kids/military personal should be responsible enough to drink and purchase alcohol but i don't believe high school kids are.

  2. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but there is a video from Media day here.

Here is what i got from it. sorry for the spelling but you know who i'm talking about.

    coach mannausau

DL - anchored by 3 seniors, demonitgny, richter, and ebanks. Look for link gottebette and kyle krusenjertna and nick nolte when he returns. Nate wayne is returning at noseguard but is being pushed by ty boyle.

OLB - stud - tescher and cochran are standing out. zeke - giles and kasoswki with leith adding quality depth.

ILB - holinka is stepping up and ready to have a great season. Miller will be starting next to him as a physical LB. pollow, german and hendrickson will provide depth.

    Coach Kelling

seniors - drake otto, rory manke provide senior leadership. Brandon jordan and derrick malner are recovering from injuries trying to get ready for first game. ankenbauer and swchenzfire are back and ready to play.Mitch kudrna learning both safety and corner

CB - thin right now. otto and jordan knicked up. Delano is improving/learning. dominique hawkins stepping up.

    Coach Brietbach

OL - braeglemen, troen, bondy starting with experience. moe, queoff, koelln, schroeyer fighting for other spots. bakke moved to OL and quesenberry improving.

WR - veteran, trenbeth, nicholas, caufield ready, ball will be spread around. Konrath coming into his own at rec and will contribute. luepp and bamba finding ways to contribute. anderson, dressler, daggot will provide depth (maybe some injuries??)

RB - brady worked hard this summer, excite about him. murray can be every down runner. solum hard nosed runner shows no signs of knee injury. battle, dungy provide depth

TE/FB - tibesar playing both TE and FB. grover back. dublanko made move to FB but has picked it up well. Caufield will play some TE

QB - freund very comforatble ready to be huge leader. landry able to step in at any time. no definate 3rd qb but working on younger guys.

Just what i got from watching the media day video.

  3. hopefully.... murray is a good back. brandon brady is a good short yardage back but we are are missing that homerun hit that chappell used to provide. I hope raphael will provide the homerun hit with his speed

  4. I have no idea whether or not this is true, but Reynolds rushed for over 1000 yards last season for a pretty good California juco team. You have to wonder why he'd still be available, though.

it had to deal with he thought he was going to get another medical year but did not receive it. so he will be here in the fall and will really help the sioux backfield.

  5. lets also remember guys that most of these players are good people. There are always a few people who make a large group of good guys look bad. Lets not make assumptions about all the players based one persons decisions. like previously mentioned lets hope stroup can figure all this out and start making decisions that will help him later in life.

  6. Speaking of facilities i've heard rumors that memorial stadium is in the process of getting field turf. However it apparently was supposed to be started by now so we will see if that is going to happen or not. I'm sure that would be a welcome upgrade for the players because of the current shape of memorials turf. Plus it would look a lot nicer!

  7. and Dallas trades with the Browns and the Browns take Quinn 22nd overall.

i can't believe brady quinn fell this far. Atleast he got to go with the browns, where he wanted to go and grew up in, but not at the pick he wanted. 22nd instead of 3rd! wow. I can't belive that

  8. is everyone going to be watching tomorrow? Who are you guys hoping your team gets? I want the vikes to get either AD or brady quinn. That would be a huge get for the vikes. I think brady is a better qb then jamarcus but with jamarcus's success in his final game and his performance at his pro days i would bet the raiders go with him. Plus they need a qb who can be sacked 50 times next year and not get hurt.

  9. ryan did have a nice catch and run at the spring game. I agree that he isn't as fast or quick as weston but how many people are? He should be a good player and maybe be competing for the 5th wide reciever spot this coming year. Freund played well at the spring game. Didn't seem to make any mental errors and directed the offense well. It will be interesting to see how the number 2 spot pans out between konrath and landry. konrath appeared to struggle and appeared to get flustered a little. Landry played well, showed some promise with some good throws but probably needs to learn the offense a little more. I've heard from a couple of players that konrath could be moved to wide reciever if landry wins the number two spot like groeschl did a few years back. Overall, i wasn't as impressed with the spring game as i was last year at the alerus, possibly becuase of the wet turf. Also a smaller crowd then last year it seemed like.
