Lost in all this is...
Where our natty banners ?
I'd guess they have been down during the scoreboard construction. When they were down during a game last yr, I tweeted the REA about it and was told they had been removed for another event...the circus or something that had just been there.

All that scoreboard and still not enough room on it to fully display the teams logos. Lol
I also feel like they should swap the score and sog spots. I'd like to see shots displayed bold and proud

Is the REA under any obligation to benefit UND as a whole?
According to the founding documents of REA, Inc., yes they are.
So if there were a Hawks logo under the scoreboard, that's a benefit to UND?
They let that stupid parrot roam the stands during the game. Is that a benefit to UND?

Is the REA under any obligation to start putting up the Hawks logo?
It doesn't seem that difficult to understand that REA wouldn't even exist, if it weren't for RE. It's not surprising that they aren't in a rush to wipe out a logo that was loved and supported by the man responsible for the whole arena in the first place.

Between Pinto and Moore we've gotten some impressive recruits from the east coast lately. Wonder if the games on CBSSN have anything to do with it. Keep em coming!
YES PLEASE!
Strengths
- A dangerous player with or without the puck in the offensive zone.
- Quick, accurate shot.
- Effective puck distributor.

...and then there are people who are obsessed about those people that are obsessed. But the funny part is the people that yell "Fighting Sioux" the most, the students, never were in college when they were the "Fighting Sioux".
Maybe some of them were

Interesting take on the rink size. Heard a fair amount of chatter over the last few years that the big rink size at Mariucci is a recruiting detriment for guys with NHL aspirations. I thought I heard they were going to shrink the ice sheet but that obviously has not happened at this point. No one seems to be complaining about rink size in St Cloud, though.
It's kind of crazy that they actually play on different size rinks. I could see a playmaker that isn't a fan of contact, giving the edge to a place like St Cloud on the big sheet

What did he honestly contribute that any other guy can't step right in and provide?

So, what are the factors that sway them? St. Cloudhas been very good for a number of years (although they lay an egg in the NCAA tournament).
Coaches, team success, system, friends on the team, location of the school, size of the rink...

So, how the they seem to keep landing top notch recruits?
Obviously facilities aren't the sole determining factor for a recruit, or UND would be loaded

I love how they renovated it and it looks all nice from the outside and in the entry by the ticket windows and then you walk up the steps into the rink and it’s like “nope, same old dump”
One weekend there and I'll never go back. Shuffling thru tiny concrete corridors to go find my seats are covered in sticky crap. Had to sit on napkins, listening to their stupid goal chant, while shivering and counting their Participation Banners! No leather or marble to be found anywhere...haha

St Cloud's arena is a dump

I think he would have had a chance to contribute for sure, but it's not a bad thing for him to have one more year of development if the staff didn't think he was truly ready, IMO.
Not bad, but all depends how long he's at UND, which none of can predict. For conversation sake, I'd rather he come early and stay 3 yrs than stay in juniors and play 2 at UND

Yeah, I've heard he's not coming. Pretty much certain. Schlossman has noted this a couple times in some of stuff this offseason.
Well that sucks.

Rizzo is not likely to come in this fall.
Since when? He signed his letter, no?

I started going through the list of players leaving and then trying to figure out who is actually coming in this fall. We also know about Westin Michaud from CC who will be a senior.
The players Schloss has mentioned coming in are: Frisch (D), Pinto (F), Caulfield (F), Blaisdell (F). If you then look at birth years and production the players that seem likely to also come on are: Riese Gaber (F), Murphy Stratton (F), and possibly Carter Randklev depending on his injury. Braden Costello doesn't seem ready. So does anyone know who from this list may be coming in?
If the numbers are right that could mean that some of our senior forwards may either be transferring or not be playing (Casey Johnson, Zach Yon, Dixon Bowen).
Thoughts anyone?
You're missing Rizzo

It is with supreme, yet unfounded confidence, that I will purchase one, and only 1 ticket!

BTW, this is a nice item for $20 (and it'd be worth more than that), but I'll cap tickets at 4 per person. Thank you.

Agreed.
Does anyone else remember Trupp's freshman season exhibition game against Manitoba? When the Manitoba player had a breakaway and Trupp raced behind him, dove, and then lifted the stick and poked the puck away (all while in the air)? That play epitomized Trupp's entire career at UND and he showed it off in his very first game at REA. He showed that he was going to be a special player right then.Yes! I've scoured the net searching for that video. When I introduced my wife to Sioux hockey, she fell in love with Trupper. I brought up that play, as the reason that I knew he was gonna be special.

Wow...crazy that you can never meet a man, but still be really saddened to hear about his passing. I guess we all end up as part of one big dysfunctional family, as we share the highs and lows of our favorite team. I'll definitely be keeping his family in my prayers.
