I actually didn't see it as a hook by the Gopher... The stick was there but it looks like he was trying to hook at the same time that Trupp dove for the puck. The best view of this is shown from the up high review from the corner. (1:25 in to the you tube video) That view shows how Trupp extended and left his feet on his own to reach the puck. I was shooting photos between the benches at the time, but missed the shot because the Gopher players on the bench where standing and blocking my view.

A guy sent this to me for GPL... I added it to our game recap. I figured that not many of you would see it, so I thought I would share it. The photo was very grainy. so I had to shrink it down a bit. You can see the puck in mid air next to Kangas's blocker pad.

I know there are 2 Albers, but I thought one was still a linesman. I could be mistaken.

I don't really know him, it's just been a few conversations in the press box at Mariucci and the X... I don't think he even knows my name. He probabnly just knows my face.

He is there often since he lives in the cities, but he also frequents St. Cloud, Duluth and Mankato because of the close proximity. He also works a lot with the womens WCHA games as well.

Are you kidding me? Do you watch hockey at all? NO league is consistent with the way they call games. From youth to adult hockey. From college to the NHL. Nothing is consistent. You can't just go around firing people left and right because they make HUMAN mistakes in a game that is extremely fast and you must make a judgement call in an instant. But man is it easy to "ref" a game from the stands or from your couch wearing whatever color glasses that fits your team. Also.... If you don't think the coaches have input on how they want the league to be officiated as a whole, you are pretty clueless. They have tremendous influence. As a side note....... The WCHA is getting new blood when it comes to refs. Thul and Albers are two new guys that come to mind. There will be another new ref this year with Bill Mason being pushed out. So change is happening, it just takes time.

I watched quite a few games last season with Shep sitting either next to me or two seats away.... I can tell you that the guy knows his stuff! I can also tell you that he is not always thrilled with the calls that his guys make. I saw him roll his eyes and shake his head many times this past season. One thing that is nice is that when a controversial call is made, he explains what is going on and why the ref made the call. Once your hear his explanation, the call usually makes very good sense. It's too bad that the general public never gets to hear this type of information.

Wasn't Oshie & Okposo tied up with each other right before that in the UND zone? I heard the crowd react a bit after that, but the camera was following the puck up the ice. It also explains why Oshie was trailing the play and got the shot.... Whatever happened between the two, Okposo took exception too.

Just some clarification here.... The "Truth" had nothing to do with you getting banned. You being an A-Hole is what got you banned from GPL.

On GPL we have Sioux, Husky, Bulldog, Maverick, Bucky and other teams fans too. It's a pretty diversified group. Sure it's mostly a Gopher love fest, well.... it's a Gopher board, what do you expect?? I enjoy hearing from fans from other school on my site. Some of those guys I have become good friends with.

FYI.. He was not nuked. He just can't post in the hockey area of the site right now. He can still read it and post in other areas. So it's not like he was nuked from the site like other users have been in the past.

Banned again? When were you banned in the past? Sure I took a bit of a shot, but I am allowed to have some fun every once and a while. I believe you were being a "Skippy", so you needed some time off..... By the way.... I love that term!!! "SKIPPY" Great stuff!

I don't run it with an iron fist.... But I will try to keep the jerks from running a muk. There are currently 6 users that are banned on GPL. All of them are Gopher fans. To me, it just does not make too much sense to be a jerk. Whether if you are on another team's website or at their rink. For the most part, if you treat others with respect, you will be treated the same. There will always be opponents fans that see your jersey and will act like a-holes, but that's just the way it is. As for Holy Cross.... We lost... Time to take our punishment. That's just how rivalries work and I would not want it any other way!!!

The site being down may have had something to do with him leaving... A TON of people visited the site yesterday afternoon wanting info on Potulny. All of a sudden the site was suspended my my provider. The message on the site is directed towards me... Saying that they sent an email to me on how to proceed. Well, I never got an email. So at 5pm yesterday afternoon I called my provider to see what was going on. The guys there told me that since the account was suspended, the only way to fix it was to email abuse@ipower.com and wait for a response. I could not talk to anybody there about it.... That's sounds a little stragne doesn't it? So I get home and send the email to that account asking what is up. I get an auto response saying that they recieved it and will reply within 24 hours... Tick.. Tock.. Tick.. Tock.. They have not responded yet... I have looked around on the internet for others that have had this problem with iPower and the best I can tell is that we overtaxed their server. With so many people visiting GPL at once, it started slowing down the server that GPL is on, which affects other sites on the server... So they shut it down... Until I get an email response from them, this is my best guess as to what happened.

Correct.... It will be Clay Matvick. It will be an ESPNU broadcast. FSN is just picking up the signal. None of their people are involved.

I don't know about a nail biter, but it's realy hard for me to see how this game will go. I just don't know what to expect. I can see UND blowing them out and I can see Michigan pulling out a victory. We'll see I guess. As for NC... It's all good.

Hey kid.... How's Bemidji? Anyway.... They key to this weekend for the Sioux is the Michigan game. They must concentrate on that game first and formost otherwise there will be no game for them on Saturday. There is no reason to even think about Minnesota right now. Just win, then worry about the Gophers... It's not like it will take much for them to "get up" for the Gophs.

By the way... I never said that people are not welcome.. All I asked was that in order to skate in a GPL skate that you must participate in the site. One simple rule that was just too hard for them to follow so they got all bitter and left.
