Why are you still here?

That still doesn't answer the question, which is: If both Duluth and UND win Friday, will there be a MacNaughton Cup celebration that night? A Friday win by each team would mean that there's still a chance UMD and UND could tie for the title Saturday night. If I were Blais, I'd say no cup presentation until after Saturday's game, even if the Bulldogs lose Friday. And if both UND and UMD win Friday, why give MTU extra incentive to beat the Sioux Saturday by skating around with the cup on Friday?

You want the real PCM? You can't handle the real PCM!

This one of MinnesotaNorthStar isn't too bad, either.
-
But of course! As Zach said in Sioux Illustrated, it's only "almost a waste of time."

Lies! A. I have lots more hair than that. B. Being in the shape I am, I have absolutely no reason to ever wear a sweat band. C. That guy is way younger than me. I could tell you a story from back when I wore an onion on my belt, which was the style of the day. Fortunately, I was able to find an equally flattering picture of Diggler.

The first time you'll even notice is when you start thinking about how good Keith Ballard looks with a perm.
-
I wouldn't waste a perfectly good can of Ensure on rabble rousers like you. I am working with the REA staff to put saltpeter in the students' hot dogs and nachoes.

Dadgummit! If'n I hears any noise at all outta them scallywag UND students, you're gonna see my walker come flyin' outta the press box and all the ways cross the ice! Children should be seen and not heard! Don't make me come over there with my belt and bar of soap!

Initially, I didn't like that idea, either. But the more I think about it, the more I like it. Four straight games in Grand Forks against the top team in the WCHA and the nation? If I'm a Tech player, I think I might want to get that over with as quickly as possible.

I taped the game and watched the replay. Brandt reacts as if Smaby's stick hit him, but it's tough to tell whether it actually did.
-
By golly, I think the Gophers have a trifecta!
-
Thanks, dagies. I always enjoy the recaps from those who attend the road games.
-
I would play five teams at the same time and win 12-0.
-
Why go that far back?
-
I couldn't tell for sure, but it looked as if Smaby's stick might have hit Jake in the back of the head on the follow through. With the exception of the Friday game in Wisconsin, Brandt has played well all season long. And even against the Badgers, I thought Jake was unfairly singled out in what was primarily a team loss. I don't know why anyone should be surprised when he plays well. The Sioux are very fortunate that they have two very good goalies who have been able to cover for each other all season long. Some teams that have tried to ride one goalie are discovering the disadvantages of that approach.

Why you young whipper snapper, if'n I wasn't plum outta Geritol, I'd box your ears and give you a whuppin' you'd not soon forget!

After watching the tape, I'd say the slash on Porter that gave UMD the 5-on-3 wasn't a "real" penalty. Porter had his stick on a Duluth player who fell on his own as he was trying to avoid going offsides. A hook? Possibly, but only if Shepherd decides to call something that happens a hundred times a game and goes uncalled. A slash? No way. The roughing penalty on Prpich that gave UMD a power play was bogus, too. He should have been called for spraying the goalie, but he did absolutely nothing to warrant a roughing call. Shepherd told Prpich he wanted to put the Bulldogs on the power play, and so he did. That being said, there were a number of fairly obvious penalties on the Sioux that went uncalled.
-
I watched the tape to see where the offsides occurred. The puck was coming out of the zone and Parise used his glove to knock it back into the zone as he was coming in. It was very close and happened very fast. The puck was in the air, so it wasn't as if the blue line could easily be used as a point of reference. I can see how that one was missed. Besides that, the Sioux didn't score as a direct result of the offsides. The Bulldogs had two chances to clear the puck after that and they didn't do it.
-
Well, it just doesn't matter. Winning the WCHA isn't important. A top-five finish is no longer important. Everyone knows the Gophers will be in the Frozen Four at the end. They got perms. How can they not? Can you imagine what it's going to be like for Potulny and the Minnesota lads to walk around campus this week with those stupid hairdos?
-
It's time to put the "Space for rent" sign on the Gopher bandwagon.
-
Now which team is the hottest in college hockey? It must be the one with weak goaltending and no offensive defensemen that was supposed to buckle under the pressure of a tough second-half road schedule. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Wooger!

How about your dog?
