  1. Inadvertant whistle? What the heck?
  2. I assumed that only Moo U grads wanted more cowbell. Since we're trotting out our musical credentials, I will add that I have played the piano, trombone, cornet, tuba and baritone. I also played in my high school pep band. This has nothing to do with the thread topic. I merely wanted to demonstrate that when it comes to music, I am multi-untalented.
  3. No thanks. PCM has all the bees he needs.
  4. I'd look great in leather pants.
  5. I can't argue with the facts.
  6. I've got all I can handle at this point. Besides, they'd have to remove small children from the arena before putting my face up on the big screen.
  7. I have this weird idea that when I hear something on the radio, I assume that I'm not the only person in the world listening. How am I supposed to know what others are hearing or not hearing? The fact is, Bownkamp's injury was discussed on the air before last weekend's Delta State game. Also, I was listening to the radio yesterday during the game when Dan Hammer gave the reason that Belmore was starting instead of Bowenkamp. Sorry to get so many panties in a bunch.
  8. So what was the mystery that you solved?
  9. They talked about that injury on the pre-game show before the Delta State game.

    UND moving up?

Based on my converstations with Thomas, this simply isn't true.
  12. A few weeks ago when there was talk on this board about who would be hired as the new Sioux assistant coach, I repeated a rumor I'd heard about Steve Johnson not having his degree, which was a requirement for the job. That rumor was not true. Steve finished his degree while serving as an assistant coach at UND. I owe Steve an apology for spreading that misinformation. I've learned my lesson.

    UND moving up?

Perhaps this would have had a better chance of happening if NDSU had shown a willingness to work with UND on the issue and make the move when it was most advantageous to both schools.
  14. Good news for MTU.
  15. According to today's Grand Forks Herald, "Two Mississippi state troopers accompanied Delta State to Grand Forks." I think they showed the troopers briefly on the big screen during the game. They were big, burly and all decked out in their uniforms. Does anyone know the rationale for this move by Delta State? Is is fallout from the North Alabama game? Did it help maintain order on the sidelines?
  16. That remains to be seen. I think somebody said something to Lou that got under his skin. Sportwriters and editors trading barbs is fairly standard. Executive editors normally refuse to participate in schoolyard tauning and cheap-shotting. I wonder what made Lou decide to lower himself to that level?
  17. It wasn't "playoff loud," but the crowd really got into it when Delta State made a run in the fourth quarter. I know that I'm hoarse.
  18. For most of that play, Bowenkamp was looking for Lee Groeschl on a fly pattern to the end zone. I watched him watch Groeschl as the receiver broke clear and appeared to have at least two steps on the defensive back. I thought Bownkamp would throw to him and it would be a TD. But instead, he suddenly looked underneath and tried to force the ball into someone cutting across the middle of the field. The pass went right to the Delta State defender. Why Bownkamp decided not to throw to Groeschl when it appeared he was open is a mystery to me.

    Ziggy

I've watched the tape of the Final Five champsionship game three times, including replays of each goal in stop-action mode. (It's a fun game to watch, even if the Sioux did lose.) From a team defense persepctive, it was probably one of the worst games the Sioux played all year. I know that Brandt didn't win the WCHA by himself. I also know that he didn't lose the Final Five championship game by himself.

Apparently some have already forgotten that Brandt played a large role in bringing home No. 13 for the Sioux. There's no question that Jordan Parise played better down the stretch, which is why Blais started him. That was the formula Blais followed all season long. He started the goalie who played the best.
  22. Several local writers contributed to it, including your's truly. The person behind it is Mike Bynum. If you do a search for his name on amazon.com, you'll see that he's been involved in many sports books related to some big-time names and programs.
  23. Thanks for noticing, jloos. I dare say that I have provided more Sioux hockey news items and feature stories to USCHO than INCH could ever hope to by covering the program from afar.
  24. I believe that Dean Blais tried to tell us this a number of weeks ago.
  25. Nobody should rely on any one source of news on any subject. All media outlets have their pluses and minuses and all have made their share of mistakes.
