  1. The only time we looked bad on the big ice was when we played poorly in the second half of the first period and most of the second period. That had more to do with too many players standing around than it did with the size of the rink. In the third period, the Sioux totally outplayed and dominated UNH, which is when you'd think the Wildcats could use the big sheet more to their advantage. But they didn't. Thus, once again, I don't buy the idea that UND is at a disadvantage on the "big ice." And Oshie's and Toews' goals were of the "fluke variety"? I've seen some flukey goals and neither of those were even close to qualifying.
  2. When your team scores only one goal, I don't think you can put too much blame on the goalie.
  3. Hurry up! I can't go to bed until I read them!
  4. I really have to wonder what's going on at UMD.
  5. Great win for the Sioux. Very, very strong third period after I was about ready to give up on them in second period. Let's get the sweep!

Hak is sticking with the rotation so far. I guess we'll see. I don't see it hurting us or helping us. Remember, the Sioux probably spent this week practicing on their Olympic sheet.
  7. Poor Zach! He was probably having Denver flashbacks.
  8. There are other entities on campus that would probably prefer such names as the UND Litigating Lawyers or the UND Healing Docs.
  9. Here's the link for the list of programs. http://www.UND.edu/dept/aiss/Indian%20Related%20Programs.htm Here are the enrollment statistics for 2004-2005: http://www.UND.edu/profile/ Apparently the stats for the current semester aren't up yet.

  11. I guess. According to a thread in another SiouxSports.com forum, I've been on vacation for the past 28 years.
  12. The Dakota Student ran this story on the bogus "Sioux Pride" blog. I wasn't aware that there was an entire forum on SiouxSports.com dedicated to one phony blog. Also, for the record, I am not a "medical school researcher" as was stated in the Herald and now in the Dakota Student. The Herald ran a correction the day after its story was published.
  13. I'm usually raggin' on Inside College Hockey, but I have to give them credit for some nice comments. Check out this week's WCHA column. Under the "Great Weekend Getaway" section featuring the Wisconsin at SCSU series, it says:

I'm still waiting for this team to establish an identity. Maybe this will be the weekend. As Hakstol said on this week's coaches' show, the series at Durham will be a good test of how the team performs on the road in a hostile environment. It would be nice to see Stafford and Zajac play like the veterans they are and have a good series in which they contribute significantly to the scoring. We can't expect the goalies and freshman to carry this team for too long. I'm not as worried about the "big ice" as others. But then, I never am. A split is a realistic expectation. However, I'd really like to see the Souix put together a solid team effort heading into the series with Denver next week.
  15. Unfortunately, you're right. If the NCAA declares Bradley University "hostile and abusive" simply for using the word "chiefs" in the name of a university club, there's no way it will back down from its crusade against the Sioux name and logo.

Oops. You beat me to it. EDIT: Apparently there's no way for me to delete my thread. Maybe a moderator will do it for me. From The Concord Online Monitor: 'Cats up against a large obstacle Fighting Sioux brings size, talent, attitude

    A UNH view

How about some actual discussion of this weekend's series? There are some interesting comments in this article from the UNH perspectives. From The Concord Online Monitor: 'Cats up against a large obstacle Fighting Sioux brings size, talent, attitude

  24. Yes. The third and final step of the NCAA's appeal process is the Division II President's Committee.
  25. Wow. That's interesting.
