  1. Kozek scores! 3-1 UND!
  2. That's the way it sounds to me, too.
  3. Stafford scored both Sioux goals. One short-handed in the first period and the second 5-on-5 in the second. John Scott of MTU scored the Huskies goal in the second period.

  5. As I have said for three seasons now, I have absolutely have no problem with occasional updates of scores from other games being posted in a Sioux game thread. I do have a problem with running play-by-play from other games being posted in a thread that's supposed to be about a particular game. That practice is simply rude, especially when it's not being done by Sioux fans and other members of the board have complained about it. It's not that difficult to start a thread devoted to other games going on in the WCHA or around the country, which more courteous posters have done.
  6. It seems that this is the third straight season you've done this, despite complaints from others on this board. But you got your wish. I'm ignoring you from now on.
  7. So we're back to the impolite practice of posting updates from other games in the Sioux game threads?

  9. From Northwest Arkansas News: ASU still Indians, for now
  10. From The Penn (Indiana, PA): University considers next mascot move
  11. It sounds as if the second roundtable in which Tim O'Keefe and Phil Harmeson participated was more of an open discussion than the latest one.
  12. Not really. All it took was someone old enough and nerdy enough to remember the joys of working with DOS.
  13. Vaht?
  14. I have it on good authority that the DOS Command Line will debut this weekend (Duncan-Oshie-Stafford).
  15. Look out, Mike Prpich, Harvard's bringing North Dakota shot blocker Tyler Magura to town. Here's an article from the Harvard Crimson about the former Fargo South player. Center Shines, Spotlight or Not
  16. I can hardly wait.
  17. That would be rather difficult because the winner is named before the national championship game is played.
  18. Bite your tongue, comrade!
  19. This is why I think renaming UND's athletic teams the Raging Reds would be perfect. The NCAA has no problem with using the word "red" in a nickname as long as it's not associated with American Indians. All we'd have to do is explain to Bernie Franklin at the NCAA that "Reds" refers to the Red and Red Lake rivers that have periodically raged through the communities of Grand Forks and East Grand Forks. How could there possibly be a problem with using "Reds" in a historical, geographical and geological context? For good measure, we could further please the NCAA by voluntarily agreeing to stop using the offensive Siouan word "Dakota." Being located at the confluence of the Red River and Red Lake River, UND will the become the University of Fork, which will be shortened to Fork U.
  20. SKIPPY ALERT!
  21. Oops. Sorry.
  22. I'm surprised that this letter from UND President Charles Kupchella to the NCAA didn't receive any news coverage or get any mention here. The text of the news release is followed by Kupchella's letter.
  23. Isn't it funny that nobody from the media ever sees Engelstad's action as a staunch defense of the First Amendment and of free expression? Because that's exactly what it was. From The Bismarck Tribune: Grael Gannon: Where does Indian name dispute end?
  24. From the Dakota Student: The DS View: Opportunity missed I was at this event, and while it's true that there were few students present, there was another group that wasn't present in great numbers: American Indians. I couldn't do an exact count, but I estimate that there were about 80 people in attendance. Of those, about 20 appeared to be American Indians. Remember, this is supposed to be a civil/human rights issue that's equivalent to slavery and women's suffrage. According to one of the people who spoke as part of the panel, American Indian students attending UND suffer psychological harm as a result of the Sioux nickname and logo. One would think that under these circumstances, there would be strong representation among the 400+ American Indian students attending UND. But it was not the case. From the Dakota Student: The Lakota opinion matters
  25. I hope that the NCAA doesn't catch wind of the high-stakes gambling going on here.
