As I recall, they were a featured band that was invited because of their great reputation. I believe all the schools playing in the tournament had bands present.

Are you referring to the Michigan Tech pep band? I thought they were great and added a lot to the college atmosphere of the tournament. I think their "uniforms" are meant to be more fun than attractive.

I agree. Every team is different. Lucia has certainly shown that he knows how to win national championships. That's why I don't think coaching has much to do with it. Sometimes a combination of coaching and player leadership is enough to overcome problems and sometimes it isn't. I won't go so far as to say that next season's Gopher team will be better than last season's, but I certainly won't assume that last season' Minnesota meltdown will carry over into next season.

In UND's case, I don't think "getting hot" had much to do with it. After losing Robbie Bina, Mike Prpich and Brady Murray during the tournament and losing a heartbreaker in OT to Denver, nobody would have blamed the Sioux for mailing in the third place game against Minnesota. But they didn't. The team rode the momentum from that game all the way to the Frozen Four championship.
