But, according to Leigh Jeanotte, director of American Indian Student Services at UND, "It is inherently wrong to use a race of people to represent athletics." So why is using "Dakota" to represent athletics any better than using "Sioux" to represent athletics?

Actually, if you do some research, you'd know that there are quite a few hockey players who say they like country music. I was not surprised by the answers last night.

This is an excellent point because so many of the on-campus incidents fall into the anecdotal category, and I wonder how they'll fly in a court of law. I'm hoping that a judge and juy will place far less emphasis on them than the NCAA did.

Actually, there is. Remember the eBay T-shirt that contained stereotypical references to the Sioux? Somehow, it ended up in the hands of the on-campus activists. But I"m sure that was just a coincidence.

So the boring crowd was Diggler's fault. When Diggler's having a bad game, it brings the whole arena down.

This is turning into one of my officiating pet peeves this season. Calling dives is supposed to be a point of emphasis. But in the games I've seen so far, the WCHA seems to be calling diving less. Maybe that's where UND gets its "you can't tell us what to do, NCAA" attitude.
