My understanding was that Republicans were encouraged to vote in person on Election Day and republicans did in mass. Democrats used the mail in option much more. some states didn’t allow counting of mail in ballets until Election Day (big mistake in my mind). Due to the volume (and/or by design and according to state law) they couldn’t/didn’t all be counted Election Day. No surprise to me that as the mail in ballets get counted ( in person and mail in should both be counted with equal weight) that they would be more democratic votes.

Agree that anything dated after the 3rd is out - not counted. some states didn’t allow the processing of mail ballots until Election Day. Big mistake in my mind. I believe some are saying that ballots received after Election Day (within the time period each state specifies) but postmarked prior to Election Day shouldn’t be counted.

Legal scholar I am not. perhaps it was interpreted that a ballet in the postal service hand was received by 8:00. The government “received “?? I don’t know. unfortunate that all those voters vote might not get counted. Sure blurs things though

I can’t believe officials allowed this to go on and on. Interesting that the guard was called in now isn’t it.

The postal service backdating ballots is obviously wrong. Not saying if this is true - needs to looked into. I would think everyone would agree. Not counting legally cast votes that met state guidelines is wrong. I think we all should agree.

Thanks for sharing. I am certainly not as well versed in all the legalize as you. My understanding is this is precisely what the Pennsylvania state Supreme Court ruled unanimously on - that this was legal. would the federal Supreme Court really over rule this? I should add - any stories about Walsh hall you want to share?

Pennsylvania-my understanding: I believe the Trump campaign is asking that vote counting stop and they will be suing to disallow mailed ballots prior to Election Day and received within three days which are allowed according to Pennsylvania state laws and procedures.

Trump ran a hell of a campaign. Ran hard. Very impressed that he was able to close so well - or maybe he always was close?? Proved so many people wrong.

I went to bed last night thinking that Trump had won. Biden was so far behind in Pennsylvania. I didn’t realize that Biden could still win without Pennsylvania until later this morning. Just trying to catch up to all of you.

Some ifs for Pennsylvania for what it worth if anything - disclaimer my math and My assumptions on what is being reported. cnn is reporting (I know I know) they are estimating that 76% of the vote has been counted in Pennsylvania If that is true and some here have said that the remaining votes are falling 3 to 1 for Biden - (75%) another big if Nearest I can figure that means that Biden will win Pennsylvania by 260,000 I no longer can see specifics for the city of Philadelphia. If 70% of the estimated remaining go to Biden then Biden wins by 90,000 If 65% of the remaining go to Biden then Trump wins by 80,000

Doing the math I figure Biden can pick up at the most 350,000 net votes in Philadelphia. Biden is behind by 650,000 now. Looks good for trump

Trump’s lead is huge in Pennsylvania - Pretty hard to make that up with the mail in Overall pretty impressive for Trump

I have been through many elections (older than average) but have never felt like I feel now. Excited and anxious. Pretty clear choices with huge consequences.

Biden camp just announced they can win without Florida. They wouldn’t say that now if things were going good for them. Trump looks pretty good in Florida. First of many?

I wouldn’t be too confident no matter who you prefer wins. Trump sure seems to have closed in. popcorn, pizza and beer stocked for tonight good luck to all

I could tell if my ballot was received. Would be nice to know if it was counted. good question I just called Cass county about this they said if something is wrong with say the signatures don’t match they would sent out a letter with instructions to come on in to correct I told them I had mailed in the ballot weeks ago and she said then it was counted because of no letter asking me to come in to correct. Absent a letter, they said your ballet was counted. There is no place to look to see if it counted but to assume it was absent the letter. I did not ask if there was a way for me to know if my vote for xxxx actually went to xxxx.
