  1. Lately I have read a lot of fans from other teams complaining about the Sioux being a bunch of hacks and doing a lot of after the Whistle stuff (ie) slashes, hacks and cross checks. I don't think UND has played that dirty this season. This past weekend I heard more complaining about UND after the SCSU series. I watched the game on Friday and have seen a lot of the games this year and I don't think UND is any worse than any other team.

    Do you have any links?

  2. I agree with da Taz. I'm not worried at all. I think with all the pressure of pre-season expectations, the Sioux are clutching their sticks a little tight right now. They just need to have some fun. Hell, it's only a game.

This team isn't clutching their sticks a little tight right now. They are clutching their throats.

  3. speaking of those 3 players. i was reading that they were split up last weekend in both games or maybe 1. im guessing we will see them together here and there

I believe Lasch was centered by Dey in both games last weekend while Nodl and Roe were shifted around in both games. Motzko may opt to stack a line to try to create some mismatches because they will have the last change this weekend.

  4. for sure but we have a hell of a lot of hockey left to play in the wcha and 1 series vs bemidji state. time to make a push and get farther up the pairwise and wcha standings starting this weekend at the st cloud 1 and doners

Agreed. Although, St. C is near the bottom of the league, they could surprise if they take care of things in their defensive zone. Offensively, I think they are alright with Lasch, Roe, and Nodl.

  5. The Sioux is averaging a little over 3.0 goals per game since the season started and from a team with as much talent as we have we need to generate alot more offense for the second half of the year and get the guys that can put the puck into the net to do so!......please don't forget that JPL only gave up 1 goal in the first 5 games of the year.........since that time our goals against is about 3.0 per game, so if you are only scoring 3 goals per game and giving up 3 goals per game, you are going to have a lot of splits on the weekend?

Well said, hockeydog. It's hard to argue with those facts.

  6. Too much negativity around here. A least we didn't lose to RIT.

Now if that happened I would be bummed out.

Last night some person was already throwing the Drinking accusation in the lobby after the loss.

I don't like people saying that one unless they have proof.

True, at least we didn't lose to RIT. However, we were manhandled the majority of the weekend against a team that lost to RIT.

Also, can somebody modify the title of this thread. Some people's spelling on this forum is atrocious. Thanks much.

  7. We were thinking that it does offically start till next weekend.

Also if the playoffs began today UND is probably a 2 seed.

Guess what? The playoffs don't begin today so it really doesn't matter. I think we need to worry about our team instead of worrying about how soft a schedule Miami has played. The fact of the matter is that we are not consistent and unless this trend is reversed, we aren't going to be going very far in the playoffs.

  8. I completely agree that BC will be there again in the end.

Parker has gone the way of Gino, Woog and Sauer. For whatever reason, even the greats sometimes can no longer get the job done. It seems that York and Berenson have been immune to this.

One of the great things about Blais transitioning the program over to Hak is that we weren't forced to discover whether Blais would succumb to the slide. Usually a program has to hit rock bottom, and suffer for a few years, before new blood is brought in.

So Blais brought the program back from a dark period, got the arena built, and then managed a seamless transition to a new era. Thanks Dean.

    You're welcome.

  9. What does this have to do with the PA annoncement? Was this thread started by a Gopher fan? You have a great arena hats off to you guys - I think it's awesome the WCHA can have teams play in such great venues.

    Slap Shot:

You'll have to forgive Goon. His reading comprehension and forming a coherent thought (and grammar for that matter) aren't what they should be.

  10. FHG:

You've got to realize that we have alot of fans that take more pride in a Holy Cross win over your team, than cheering on and being proud of our team. It only conveys a certain envy with those fans. Sad, really that these same fans have such a complex considering our team has such a proud and rich history.

  11. Dean is a hockey expert and apparently is a know it all guru, so lets point out a few things for him, since it is tough being right all the time and casting stones. This from our own hockey beat writer, and I like his works but I am just pointing out the facts.

It's about time you realize that I'm a hockey expert. Apparently Dave Hakstol agrees with the assessment of the supposed "non-offsides" call: Said Sioux coach Dave Hakstol: "Our guy brought it in. It was a good call."

  12. I already ready told you!!! He was your sisters 'date' (one of several) last night!! What's the matter, doesn't she remember their names??

You already ready told me? I see that your education has done you wonders. I should point out, however, I don't have a sister. You must have me confused with somebody else.

  13. Those two dolts Dean and SoooHockey are obessed I guess. Ok so I messed up the call on the offsides but so did many other people in this thread but these two skippies decided to call me out. If those two skippies/trolls would like me to walk them through it line by line I will show them who else blamed the officials for missing an offsides call.

Awww, isn't that a special little rant. Better go tell mommy. BTW, who is P.J. Lamoureaux?

  14. I was at the game last night, not drunk or drinking but I don't remember this big kicking motion that the Goofer fans are whinning about. Can someone tell me when that was so I can review it on the DVR?

    Here's your halo...

Also, you may want to read up on your rulebook regarding offsides. Unfortunately, the way the rulebook is written, Wheeler was not offsides on the play that he scored his goal.

  15. But isn't FSN "north" broadcast throughout the upper midwest? I'd feel much better if they called it FSN "minneapolis" so there is some justification for the gopher love affair, otherwise show other schools that the station broadcasts to, I would rather watch other WCHA games that do not involve gophers.

I know what you mean. I'm a big baseball fan and I'm sick of being forced to watch the Cubs on WGN and the Braves on TBS. They should show a wider variety of teams being they are broadcast nationally.
