Obviously not the outcome that we were looking for. I do see alot of Joe Finley bashing and I think it's unfair to single him out. I said it earlier in the year that I question whether JPL could help deliver a championship for the program. Again, he showed his true colors in not being a big game goaltender. It sucks to be so close to #8.
Whether Hakstol should be absolved is also a question. Granted, he has gotten us to the Frozen Four in four consecutive years. However, even a blind pig finds a cob of corn once (national championship) in awhile and we haven't found that cob of corn with him at the helm. It makes you wonder if he's capable of winning the big one. I do long for the days of Blais because you can almost guarantee that we'd have two more titles under our belt.
Like I said, it sucks to be so close. Especially after seeing Notre Dame knocking off Michigan. I wouldn't have seen much of a chance of Notre Dame knocking us off if we were playing tomorrow night.

The difference is that Oshie is a junior in college because he wanted to stay with his friends at the premier college hockey program in the the country. He turned down St. Louis' best efforts to try and lure him into taking a few million dollars, but he thought more about being a Fighting Sioux hockey player and a University of North Dakota student than about being in the NHL and getting a huge paycheck. Wheeler, on the other hand, had no choice. Phoenix didn't want him. His choices were going back to school or going up to Canadian Major Juniors like other Gopher 1st round choices. When this season is over Wheeler will be pulled out of college because Phoenix will want to know if they made a major 1st round blunder, or is Wheeler not progressing in the Gopher system, much like Okposo and others weren't.
Now, I don't follow the Gophers like several posters on this forum do, but didn't Gretzky indicate that he didn't want to rush Wheeler and that he was happy with the progress and development that being shown?

I must be off the ignore list. Actually, I probably wasn't on that list in the first place.
1) Sorry Goof, I don't still read it as I mentioned in my post. Try improving your reading skills (and grammar skills).
2) I've seen plenty of good fan blogs that provide fair and balanced college hockey coverage. Yours does not qualify.
3) I'll leave you to go visit GPL. I have no interest in that site. For a supposed Sioux fan, you post more about the Gophers than the Sioux.

I saw over on Goof's World that he has talked about how none of the "experts" are giving UND any chance to get out of the MidWest regional. I say "HOORAY!" The last 2 titles UND won were when they weren't "supposed to".
I was begging for the "Sioux against the world" scenario, and now it looks like we have exactly that! Bring on the competition! GO SIOUX!!
Be careful when reading that joke of a blog. It is one the most unobjectionable ones out there. I can't decide what's worse, trying to decipher the grammar or constantly reading about cupcakes, the Gophers, officiating conspiracies, or conspiracies in general against the Sioux. It's not a good site if you are looking for good college hockey information. I guess that's why I don't visit that site anymore.

Wrong guy so don't put words in my mouth. There's plenty of UND fans that are cool and some that are not - same for UM, UW, etc., etc.
Goon - I'm not saying the officiating hasn't been poor but rather that it hasn't been poor in favor of any one particular team over another. I got the impression you were saying the refs were going to favor the Gophers against MSUM and as far as I can tell the final PP tally was pretty even.

Goon was saying before the series that the refs were going to favor the Gophers against MSUM. There were a few others as well.

When someone makes a stupid comment about me not being loyal that is just silly.
It appears the truth has been uncovered, then. Goof always seems to have an opinion on certain other teams in the league even though he doesn't see them play. Otherwise, it looks like he's lying about being a true Sioux fan and attending the Sioux games. Yep, that's the way I see it.
