NO, the reffing didn't cause the win, however, that being said, I am also not the only one that was disgusted with the way the series was called/reffed. I am saying that if the Goofs had last this weekend a lot of them would have actually been more upset with the officiating.
I'm disappointed in you Goof, I mean Goon. A true Sioux fan would have tried to gain entry into Englestad to support our team against Michigan Tech this past weekend.
-
The reffing may have been poor, loose is probably a better term. But in no way was it terribly lopsided towards the Gophers. Overall a very fair series where the best team won, that's just how it is, no excuses.
Don't mind Goof, er I mean Goon. He's a conspiracy theorist that wouldn't give the Gophers credit even if it was warranted.

It will be interesting to see what happens as the games play themselves out. I find it hard to believe that Wiscosin and Minnesota are that solidly in after both losing their games tonight. I still think it is only going to be 5-6 teams getting into the big dance. BU won tonight and dropped in the PWR.
That why they play the games. Regarding Wisky and Minny, it doesn't take a genius that Pairwise bubble teams aren't going to be on solid ground when they lose their games.
-
When it was the Devils and the Wild I thought oh no, not another trap feast.
Turned out so far that it has been a good game.
I guess it just goes to show what you know
-
gona be a tough games as they always are vs tech but especially tough if 2 of our top offensive/all around players are not playing in tj and chay!
In total agreement with you AZ. However, it seems that some fans think we already have our ticket punched to the Final Five.
-
I am thinking the Goofs don't make the final five anyways so we don't have to worry about it.
If they make the Final Five they will get a 7:00 pm game but it will be on Thursday.
I can see some complaining IF the GOOFS make the Final Five, win the thursday play in game, then are given the prime time game on Friday night. That is just wrong in my book. However, the Sioux would benifit from that as well. Minnesota has to get past MSU-M first.
How would we benefit from this if we don't make it to the WCHA Final Five? I think we need to worry about getting past Michigan Tech first. It would appear that some are counting their chickens before they hatch.

I believe Lasch has 23 goals and 48 points but is a MINUS 6 on the year!! That means he has been on the ice for 54 goals against!! Pathetic! That's like hitting 50 home runs but striking out 200 times. First team--no way!!
Wrong. It means the opposition has scored six more times than his team when at even strength. It doesn't mean he's been on the ice for 54 goals against (even though he has 48 points).
-
SOME of you Sioux fans sound an awful lot like the Goofer fans you say you despise.....I still can't figure out why so many posts on here revolve around UM.
It's called obsession........

I thought this was already taken care of?
You thought wrong.

Dean just admit your a gopher fan that likes to troll the UND message boards.
I mean really its like we should hear crickets in the back ground every time you post something. GPL has all kind of discussion you can get into. I can also suggest
Buckyville as well. They would love you over there. Back to putting dean on ignore.
Sorry, not a Gopher or Bucky fan. Apparently, you troll over on GPL? I guess that explains why you talk about the Gophers all the time.

~This is the silly part we heard how UND is a bunch of guttless thugs from a nameless radio host for starting a fight in the hand shake line
~Then we heard there was a common denominator to all of these fights/scrums. I am not sure how UND can start a fight in SCSU when they are in duluth.
~Then we hear leg checks aren't ground for going after another player.
~Maybe the common denominator is the REFS in this league.
~The Sioux are going to hit the little troll Garrett Roe up and down the ice. Some of it will be very hard and it will be every time that he step on the ice. Then we will see if Motzko's choir boys will get it on. Seems some of them know how to do this stuff...
Here's your halo........

The Kohl Center makes more sense. The 14,000 seat capacity in a region known for a strong following of hockey is pretty attractive to host the Wild.
I would have to agree with this assessment.
-
FSN couldn't subject precious Gopher fans' ears to objective broadcasting. That would be cruel.
Much like Hennessey. Right?
-
shouldnt matter if all wcha teams are talked about as theres nothing wrong with talking college hockey as a whole
since there is a thread regarding non sioux games that was started last weekend i dont think there is need for this thread but thats just me
Agreed. But then explain why you refer to this as a thread for gpl.
-
exactly, this is a thread for gpl , theres already a thread for non sioux hockey talk that was started last weekend
http://forum.siouxsports.com/index.php?sho...0&start=240
Most threads on ss.com end up talking about the Gophers. This thread is perfect for this forum. Don't ya think?

I agree, it is getting old. I tire of hearing that it is never our fault. It's not always our fault, by no stretch of the imagination, your all right, it does take two to tango.
But can someone please admit to me that it may be getting a little out of hand, that it isn't coincidence. Maybe, and probably just this year, maybe it is North Dakota. And THIS YEAR it actually isn't Minnesota, and Denver, and Wisconsin, and Mankato, and the referees, and the WCHA commissioner. Maybe there is something behind it this year.
Once again, someone on here posts against the views of North Dakota and everyone comes to the defense of the team. All I see are comments like "I love it!" and "Everyone else started it."
It's not coincidence! It's not, plain and simple.
What exactly caused each brawl. A Cross-check, a poke, a slash. Fine, let it be. If the ref misses it, oh well, we complain about it. But they miss calls both ways, and no, it is not a conspiracy.
We can't say that other teams are too blind to see past their "MAROON HALO" when I have seen no indication that our fan nation can't seem to ever take off their "GREEN GLASSES."
I couldn't agree more. Excellent post.
-
I agree if your unhappy with the way the Sioux play please give you tickets so someone else. Give them to someone else who will appreciate them. I don't think UND is going to change. Maybe the rest of league needs to suck it up.
Nah, I really don't have an interest in the Gophers (unlike many on this website). Don't really plan to give my tickets to anyone else either. Sorry.
-
There's a common denominator here. We are a team. A team full of goons and thugs. But..............here's our halo.
-
I wonder when our program is going to reverse the common theme of usually being involved in all of these scuffles. It's a black mark for our program and we can be better than that behavior. There is a common denominator here.
-
nothing wrong with ripping it off. its fun for the fans and it looks great. the coyotes do it here as well coming from winnipeg whe they do make the playoffs which isnt often
Never said there was anything wrong with ripping this idea off...
-
OK, I'm out of the loop - what is the white out promotion?
It's a rip-off promotion during the playoffs that originated with the Winnipeg Jets having all of the fans wearing white.
-
Kudos to the WCHA for addressing this. This kind of behavior cannot be tolerated any longer. Better to attempt to nip this in the bud now, rather than dealing with this during the playoffs.
-
Unfortunately, we all know what the common denominator is in these situations..........

I see I'm off the ignore list. You seem to have some very strong opinions on this series considering it doesn't appear that you saw the majority of the series. I would be interested in seeing any or all three Mankato-Minnesota games if anyone has them on tape. Sounded like a series for the ages.
